Chapter 6 - Chapter 5

The attack was made when the sun had fully set. Atop the Yoghiwara hill, archers shot their arrows at the rebel forces. Hundreds of iron shields greeted the arrows.

Meanwhile, in the vast grassland right on the slope of the hill, the warriors began to unleash their skills. Martial arts, magic, and weapons clashed for position and honor.

Pollygampus faced three men in dark brown robes who were the identities of Sokrit officials. He swung his sword skillfully, which was then swatted away and countered equally fiercely by the enemy.

One down, two to go. No, more and more approached Pollygampus to challenge the Jegedi general. It would be an honor if someone could kill him.

Yurispe approached to help Pollygampus. Hail magic in the form of sharp thorns was unleashed, striking dozens of enemies until some of them lay lifeless.

The grassland turned into a canvas that displayed paintings of blood forming abstract patterns. Human corpses lay on top of it.

"I don't know why great warriors like you are on the side of that cunning king," said the middle-aged man with deep purple eyes-the signature eyes of the Maika clan-who was known for his magical ability to transform matter-except humans-into whatever he wanted. A sardonic smile was written on his face.

"I also don't know why warriors that the Jegedi should be able to rely on like you chose to cooperate with the kingdom that has always tried to rule this country since long ago. They even ask for something in return. What a shame!" sneered Alegro.

There was no reply but an attack of dozens or even hundreds of grasses enchanted into sharp daggers. Alegro rushed to block them with a shield that was engulfed in blue light.

The grass daggers were unable to penetrate Alegro's defenses in the slightest. Making the man from the Maika clan even more furious and launching even more deadly attacks.

The darker it got, the more raging the war became. Blood and screams filled the battlefield. Many of the common soldiers died in the middle of the battle.

Some of the wounded were quickly brought to the medical camp by Jegedi fairies who shrunk themselves down to be smaller than flies and powdered the patients with fairy powder so that they could fly.

There Sansega was busy with the other doctors under his direction. The magic power of the prepared herbal medicines was helping, but Sansega suspected that the war would bring more casualties. He thought about how to obtain additional medicines. Since not every doctor had green magic.

"Doctor San, unit 3 needs your green magic!" said a man dressed as a medic there.

Sansega immediately approached unit 3 which was in the westernmost tent. His green magic or healing magic was indeed the strongest among the other doctors in all of Jegedi. Perhaps even the entire Cluster Continent. He was able to cast green magic to one room at a time. Making some people who initially grimaced in pain immediately fell silent feeling a little better.

The roar of the wind blew away the leaves, swirling around slaughtering the troops who were fighting. Most of them ran to their respective hiding places. Including Pollygampus and other warrior troops from the Jegedi kingdom.

"It's strange, the windstorm suddenly came out of nowhere. Luckily the enemy didn't prepare for this one either," said Yukoku, a striking warrior with the wiry physique of a mountaineer.

"Maybe the Almighty didn't want all this," Yurispe said.

"Who wants a war? No one does! But we must do so in order to preserve the sovereignty of the Jegedi we have been protecting!" An axe-wielding man chimed in.

Everyone was silent. They rested, but remained as vigilant as they had been on the battlefield.

At the medical camp, Sansega was silent. He felt awkward. The war had been postponed because there was a windstorm in the grasslands and Yoghiwara Hill. In spring, windstorms rarely came, but this time they were a reality.

"Doctor San, a soldier in unit 2 is running amok!"

❄️❄️❄️

One by one the soldiers screamed, ranted, until they almost destroyed the items in the camp if they were not immediately driven away by warriors and soldiers who were still healthy. Sansega was made to think deeply, not knowing the right reason for this incident.

Some of the warriors helped resuscitate the people who were suddenly possessed by astral beings using their own magical abilities. However, the victims were too many.

"I'm losing my mind. Do you have any ideas, Po?" asked Sansega to Keroppo, who was busy biting into the red apple in his hand.

"I don't know. Maybe they were possessed by Yoghiwara's guardian creatures and soon they would become sacrifices. Then, the war was over. Jegedi became a region without a government, after which—" Sansega threw a glass drink bottle at Keroppo's face. However, the half-elf managed to dodge.

"You are unreliable!"

Keroppo pouted, then flashed his gold badges just as he had done in Pyalpe earlier that afternoon. Sansega's thin, judicial grin disgusted the viewer.

"That kind of junk, I have it too!" Sometimes Sansega wanted to punch the 90-year-old man with the face of a 10-year-old child, but his hand always stopped when Keroppo smiled broadly like a carefree child.

After that, it was silent. The sounds of screaming and shouting suddenly disappeared.

Hoarse whispers filled his eardrums. The world seemed to spin. His vision blurred. In the last second before losing consciousness, Sansega—the dark blue—eyed man who showed his identity as a descendant of the Sakerio family, the ruler of the special territory that had disappeared ten years ago-hoped that everything would be fine.

"Don't forget the mushrooms, Sen!"

"Sure."

Mushrooms, fruits, and wheat were transported using a wooden cart pushed by two people at the back. Of course it was very heavy, but they had to carry it for the sake of the stomach.

The garden was vast. Various crops filled every available piece of loose soil. Vegetables were in the east, fruits in the west, wheat and rice in the south. While in the north a row of beautiful flowers adorns the path leading to the garden entrance. The fairies and dwarves work hard to earn a lot of profit from the monthly harvest.

At the beginning of the month, fairies and dwarves from various villages come to this garden to buy food supplies. The garden, called Survavo, was taken care of by selected fairies who were handpicked by nature every ten years.

The other fairies and dwarves, who were not selected, used to farm, fish, become construction workers, and work in food stalls so that there was no social inequality. The land of Jegedi Elves has long coexisted with humans, especially the people of the Jegedi Kingdom. They often cooperate in several fields with humans.

"His Majesty the King is so gallant, it would be a pity if his throne should fall," chimed in Sen.

The elder brother, Sin, nodded vaguely.

"You are right. A person in power will always be faced with terrible risks. Especially a class like Hugofara Ramelison who bravely accommodated and provided escape facilities for Suguna citizens."

"Suguna citizens? What are you talking about?"

Sin raised an astonished eyebrow.

"You didn't know?"

Sen shook his head immediately. Sin seemed to think for a moment, before finally explaining about what he knew from the humans a while ago.

"Right now the Suguna Kingdom is under the control of demons. The humans and fairies living there are being held hostage and some are even slaves. The other kingdoms don't dare to take action even though the king of Suguna has begged them. Unlike almost all the kings and emperors in the Cluster Continent, His Majesty King Hugofara was willing to help, he made a hiding place in Suguna and escaped the people from that demon-ridden land."

"Wow! Amazing! Our king is so cool!"

"Yes, you're right, but that's not entirely true."

Sen let out a long sigh. He was the laziest when faced with the long-winded Sin.

"What do you mean, explain!"

"Isn't it obvious that His Majesty is challenging the demons? It would be disastrous for the Jegedi including us. They even made a warning by sending demon monsters two years ago."

This time Sen was silent, afraid to look into the future.

The journey continued to be peppered with Sen's questions and answers from his brother—Sin while continuing to push the cart until they arrived in front of the house. The sight of a fairy settlement consisting of a row of houses inside a ra tree was neatly arranged. Giant oak fruits were transformed into houses and hung from the bark of the trees.

Small windows could be seen holding the light of orange magic lamps that were the source of lighting inside the house. Each house has a wooden ceiling with intricate carvings. The sunlight also helped the lighting so that the fairy village looked sparkling during the day.

Then the two of them quickly carried the transportation goods to the granary. They heard the boisterous voices of three little fairies approaching them. It made Sen and Sin's pointed ears twitch slightly.

"Sin, Sen, we found someone lying in front of the house this morning! He's still unconscious."

Sen and Sin looked at each other then quickly followed Yus, Yos, and Yas.

The wood-scented room with one open window held a wooden bed carved with flowers. On it lay a tall man in a black suit with a sword.

"Sir Sansega!"

Sin checked the breathing of the man who turned out to be Sansega the Palace Doctor as well as the one who was so familiar with the fairies including the fairy queen herself. His black hair looked irregular, making Sin sure that Sansega had just done something. War, of course.

"When did you find him?" asked Sin.

"I told you this morning." Yos replied with an annoyed look.

"Sir Sansega should be on the battlefield. Did the Jegedi army lose?" Sen opened his voice.

"If so, then why is Mr. Sansega stranded here?"

A moment of silence reigned. Yus, Yos, and Yas chose to remain silent while observing Sansega. The name of the man on the bed was already familiar to the fairy community. Sansega was known as the greatest doctor of this century, the fairy queen often asked Sansega to help solve fairy health problems to her.

Sin and Sen had seen Sansega several times at the Jegedi festival, while the three younger siblings had not, so they did not know the Doctor's face.

A whimpering sound awakened the five siblings. Sin immediately approached Sansega who was about to wake up.

"You don't need to get up yet, Sir. Your condition is not so good I guess."

Sansega followed Sin's direction. He could see his forehead wrinkling in confusion as he stared at the pointed ears that were firmly attached to each of the creature's ears in front of him.

"You... fairies? Why am I here?"

"We found you in front of our house this morning."

Sansega seemed to think.
