Chapter 9 - Chapter 9

I looked up at the sky. The wind blew like kisses over the skin. It was neither cold nor warm, the night could go on forever. The full moon also watched over us, today it even had a slight red glow. I smiled, Yuma frowned and asked me, "Do you really like the moon that much?"

I nodded, "It's bright and shows you the way, but it's still dark, so as a result, we are dependent on him... I like that. I like the sun as well..." I playfully hopped down a few steps, stopped and turned to Yuma "To me you are like the sun, you always light up my day, no matter how dull it is."

Yuma just smiled tenderly at me.

We went into the stable and saddled up our horses. After we finished, we walked back up the way to the stalls. The sky was as clear as the sea, here you can rarely see them. Today was also a special day, the moon was getting bigger and bigger and the sky clearer. I noticed that Yuma was grabbing his head next to me more often, which surprised me.

"Do you have a headache?"

"Y-Yes a little." He replied hesitantly. I had never seen Yuma weak in my life. It was weird.

"I can give you a pill-" I stumbled across one of the steps. We started laughing. It was so liberating with him. When we calmed down, I noticed that I had injured my leg.

Bleeds quite nicely. I looked at the wound, again a new abrasion. I should really keep a tally list of how often I injured myself.

"Everything ok Kuro?" Yuma asked me worriedly. He held out his hand to me and helped me up. I looked at him doubtfully and said, "That should be my question."

As I stood again, I came closer and closer with my face to his.

"Everything ok, so um..." he wiped my gaze and stopped as he looked down.

What's up with Yuma? He's been weird all day. Earlier he was suddenly so aggressive and now so nervous. I don't know him like that. He put his hand in front of his face just to turned away from me.

For a millisecond, I thought I saw a red glow in his eyes. I flinched. Has his eye color just changed? His beautiful blue-grey eyes had a hint of red in them? Was that just my imagination? I took a step back to let him a little air again.

"Are you sure you only have a headache? We can also take a short break."

"N-no it´s ok." His gaze was fixed on the ground where he noticed the wound on my leg. He opened his eyes wide, it was not my imagination, his eyes had really turned red.

"Yuma..., your eyes are-" before I could finish speaking, I was knocked to the ground by Yuma. I had no chance to react, I didn't even notice when he came towards me.

With all my strength I tried to push myself upwards, but Yuma had so much strength that I could not move.

"What's wrong Yuma?" I asked him uncertainly. What came over him? I'm sure he's kidding me right now and makes fun of me again in a few minutes. He smiled at me, but not with his typical smile, but a rather creepy one.

"It's okay, I just want a drop of your blood!"

"W-What?" Now I wasn't sure if it was really a joke; everything seemed a little too realistic to me. His answer irritated me, why would he want my blood? That makes no sense!

He shifted his head along my neck. I felt his hot breath on my skin. The cold night air represented his breath in a greater contrast. He stopped at the middle and bit me in the neck without warning.

"Arg" I gritted my teeth not to shout "H-stop!"

Why are you biting me, what's the point? Since when does he have such pointy teeth and he does knows how infectious human bites are!

I tried to fight back, but it didn't work. Suddenly, someone spoke to us.

"W-What are you doing?" Cat's voice took me out of my thoughts. Yuma also looked up. I looked at her from below, she looked different...

"I-I thought we were friends." She said angrily, tears slowly welling up in her eyes, "I thought I could trust you!" She burst into tears and ran all the way back. I wanted to stop her, but I couldn't free myself from Yuma's grip.

"Yuma!" I gave him a head nut. It probably hurt me more than him, but I managed to get Yuma back to his senses.

"K-Kuro?" He got up and walked a few steps away "I-I'm sorry. I'm sorry Kuro!"

I grabbed the spot where Yuma bit me. Amazingly, it didn't bleed at all. When I took a step towards Yuma, he made the same step back. He yelled hysterically at me, "Don't come closer!"

"What's wrong Yuma?" I asked worriedly. He looks so scared and angry at the same time. Before he could speak, or I could ask any further, we heard a loud bang.

I immediately turned around and saw that a booth was burning. Why is it burning? What is this? Up there, people in black suddenly appeared. They had weapons in their hands and attacked the people.

"Yuki!" I wanted to run but I was stopped. Yuma pulled me backwards, I asked him to let go of me, but he didn't want to.

"Let go of me! I must go to Yuki and the others!" Adrenaline rushed through my body; my heart pounded loud in my ears.

"That's too dangerous!" he shouted back. He was worried, he didn't want anything to happen to me, but "I don't care, if something happens to Yuki, I would never forgive myself! Please!"

Hesitantly, he let go of me, his face consumed with pain more than I ever saw.

Yuki, Akaya and Cat, please you have to be safe!

I ran up and then realized that Yuma was no longer behind me. Then I looked around frantically. He behind me just a moment ago, where is he? Yuma was standing in the meadow next to the stairs; someone was standing in front of him, a man with pink hair. He was tall and wide. He didn't look like an Asian. His clothes were completely wrapped in black. The moment I wanted to go back to him, the two started fighting. But the whole thing at a pace, so fast that the human eye could no longer follow them.

[Kuro, go look for Yuki and the others.]

What? I heard Yuma's voice in my head. What is that? How does that work?

[It doesn't matter, but go look for the others, don't worry about me!]

[Okay!]
