Chapter 15 - Moon Sword Academy

Moon sword academy was once called the most prestigious cultivation academy in the Tang Dynasty, its reputation was built on the foundation and strength of one woman whose name was known throughout the entire mortal realm.

With her sword skills, she was able to conquer many and build this academy, however when her time to leave the mortal realm came, her academy was the first thing her enemies targeted, she could do nothing but watch as her life's work was destroyed.

Over the years, a few of her students were able to rebuild the academy but its former glory was nowhere to be seen, the moon sword academy was now branded a fallen powerhouse.

*

Shiro, Shin and Eris had finished packing their things and were ready to leave the village, Yato had gathered the villagers at the center of the village in order to give them the announcement.

"As time passes, the children we once sheltered will one day grow up and will have to leave us, I have taken the first step by sending my daughter and two students to a faraway land were they knew no one, please send them off with your blessings so that they may be able to bring glory and joy back to this village"

Rounds of cheers resounded through the village as Yato finished his speech, the villagers knew just how over protective of Eris he was but to be able to send her away for the good of the village they were nothing but happy. Each villager gave their heart felt blessings to the three as Yato weaved some hand signs.

Ki swelled up in the area surrounding Yato as a magic circle appeared, it was the teleportation formation of the village.

The magic circle glowed with a bright blue light as it splited into three.

'A three phase teleportation magic circle?'

Shiro thought after seeing the teleportation formation active. Yato then signaled for them to step on the circle before activating it, the light became brighter as the four of them suddenly vanished.

*

Shiro felt his body warp through space, during the teleportation all his senses were nullified reminding him once again of his blind state, however, once the teleportation was done Shiro felt like the range of his martial awareness had drastically reduced, the Ki in the surrounding area had become more dense which limited the distance his own Ki could travel.

Shiro's martial awareness allowed him to be able to see everything within a 12 meter radius but that distance was instantly reduced to 3 meters. Shiro understood this phenomenon, it showed just how back water Yato's village was compared to this place.

"This is not the capital?"

Yato said, he also felt intimidated by the sheer density of spiritual energy in the environment, the place he was in now was called moon sword city because it housed the moon sword academy, he now understood why the cultivation of the people in his village were so low, he knew that the closer one was to the center of the empire the more dense the spiritual energy but he didn't think that the disparity was this much.

Putting those matters at the back of his mind, Yato led the three out of the teleportation circle, on their way out, the three saw the guards bow down when they saw Yato.

'Even in this unknown place he is still respected'

Yato went around and asked for where the moon sword academy entrance academy was held.

He hadn't been to this part of the empire before so he didn't know his way around.

"That large mountain over there"

One of the citizens answered. Yato looked at the mountain, that mountain was mount Claudius, he had heard of it but seeing up close gave him new found respect for the moon sword academy, to be able to build such a structure, even as a god, Yato hadn't seen many who could do this especially here in the mortal realm.

"Okay, this is where I stop, you guys will have to continue on your own"

Yato said to the three before turning away and walking towards the teleportation chamber

"Remember to try your best, registrations weren't cheap"

His voice resounded as his figure vanished into the distance.

Eris was flabbergasted, what kind of father just left their kid at the center of an unknown place to fend for themselves?

Although she was angry she didn't mind it too much, she knew more than anyone just how astute her father could be and besides, she had Shiro and Shin by her side so she felt reassured.

The three began heading to the foot of the mountain, it was a long journey which took them nearly half a day, the city was larger than their back water village, it was also easier to get lost in which happened to the three a lot of times.

When they arrived at the mountain, it was already midnight so they rented an inn to stay in for the night.

The next day, the three went directly to the mountain, there was a massive crowd at the foot of the mountain a lot were children around their age while some where older cultivators who accompanied their wards for the exams. The old cultivators were looking angry and agitated as they shouted at the guards who blocked their way.

"Why can't we enter with the children?"

They asked, it was clear from their voice that if the guards didn't give them a valid answer they would force their way through.

"Are you a child?"

They heard a voice say, the voice was filled with contempt and killing intent, they looked up and saw an old man floating above the mountains, he was extremely far away yet his voice sounded like he was in front of them. The agitated crowd was confused, what was this old man doing?

"You shut up old man!"

A daring man shouted he looked to be younger than the others around him. Hearing his voice, the older cultivators felt pity for the man, they had mixed emotions as they looked at the old man who was still hovering high up in the sky.

"Hehehe-"

The old man laughed heartily as he looked at the young man in contempt.

Right in front of everybody, the young man's body began twisting as blood flowed out from his orifices, his body twisted and squeezed as his the crushing sounds of bones were heard. He was dead.

Screams were heard as the weak willed ones immediately fled.

"See why I hate weak people? What is wrong with someone dying?"

The old man murmured and flew away.

"Let the children pass"

With those set of commands the guards opened the gates allowing only the children to go through.

Seeing the gates open, Shiro, Shin and Eris advanced.
