Shiro's training had been going on for three days straight, in those three days, everybody could tell that he was making incredible progress. He had sparring matches with both Shin and Yato as each tried their best to contribute to his improvement.
After a long period of trial and error, Shiro was finally able to create a sword defensive technique which allowed him to dodge attacks while looking for an opportunity to counter attack, he called it the 'Eight Steps Rotating Blank Evasion' technique.
It was a technique made up of eight steps in a circular pattern in front the opponent which creates a rotating motion that deflects all point blank attacks while giving him chance for a counter.
This was a technique which unlike sword styles or martial arts did not use much stamina and did not cause much strain to the body meaning it could be used continuously.
Shiro was able to create this technique because of the fact that his lack of sight gave him extra ordinary senses which allowed him to perceive time at a faster rate than others while using his martial awareness, in other words, Shiro had a wider view of what was happening around him.
While other cultivators used their sensory techniques to detect attacks while using their eyes to see, Shiro uses his sensory technique to see and detect attacks which gave him more proficiency to the technique than others.
Once Shiro felt like he had mastered the technique well enough, he called Shin to the outskirts of the forest he had been using as a training ground for two of them to have a spar.
Once Shin arrived, he was shocked to find a large crowd gathered around the arena, he quickly spotted Shiro and went over to ask him about the crowd. Hearing his question, Shiro told him that the crowd had followed him and Eris after hearing of the fight. The village was mainly boring with no interesting event ever happening so the villagers saw this as a good source of entertainment.
After sorting out everything, Shiro and Shin stood at the center of the large crowd facing each other
"I hope you are ready"
Shin said as he stared at Yato to give them the go signal
"This would be the first time we both fought each other seriously right? Then let's put on a show"
Shiro responded as he got into a fighting stance, his hand was on the hilt of his sword as he stood in the form for a sword draw.
Seeing that both of them were ready, Yato raised his left hand up and then dropped it in a slashing motion signifying the beginning of the sparring match.
Shin's eyes scanned Shiro with scrutiny, he had seen for himself the terrifying speed of Shiro's sword draw technique and he knew just how fast this battle could end if he was not careful.
He kept an eye on Shiro's movement as he charged up his energy, the energy lost seekers used for battle was different from other races due to the fact that they originated from hell it was called chaos energy.
"Aaaahhhh-"
Shin roared as he gathered chaos energy round his body, lightning sparks were triggered as the chaos energy reacted with the energy in the surrounding areas. Shiro's aura had grown exponentially, he looked at Shiro waiting for his opponent to make a move.
Shiro had been watching Shin's every move with his martial awareness since the fight began, he knew that against an unfamiliar opponent of the same caliber a simple slip up could cause untimely defeat.
Once he felt like he had seen enough Shiro launched himself towards Shin, he didn't use sword draw because he knew that Shin was most wary of the skill, well that was to be expected after all it was a game breaker that could tilt the scale of any battle almost instantly if used wisely.
Shiro didn't plan on using this skill because of two specific reasons, one was that he planned on testing his evasive technique, there would be no point if the battle ended instantly, and the second reason was that the skill was too dangerous, if he made a mistake with the aiming, he could mistakenly end Shin's life.
Shin saw Shiro coming at him and immediately grasped his intentions. He also lounged himself forward to meet with Shiro head on. The two clashed as Shin used his fists to parry Shiro's sword, the two immediately started trading blows.
*Clang!* *Clang!* *Clang!*
Each of Shin's attack felt heavy and were hard for Shiro to block, even when he thought about slowing down the attacks with his senses, he noticed that the speed didn't even reduce.
Shiro was shocked, if he could not see the attack how was he supposed to perform his technique. Shiro began to struggle, the attacks were getting harder to block and he was unable to keep up.
If only I could see! Slowly Shiro found his mind lamenting his situation, he began to think the thoughts that he tried his best to avoid.
'No! Even if I could see the situation wouldn't change' he tried to console himself
'If I can't see I just have to fight in a way that doesn't need sight'
Shiro jumped back trying to put some distance between him and Shin, he needed to break Shin's momentum or he could lose. However, Shin didn't plan on letting Shiro recoup, if he kept his barrage of attacks he could win.
Shin immediately dashed forward and chanted
[Tiger Fury Martial Arts: 1st Stance; Ferocious Tiger Fury]
His hands turned into a blur as he sent a barrage of attacks towards Shiro, the distance Shiro had managed to build was instantly close.
Shiro felt pressed, his space for maneuvering was getting smaller and smaller as time passed.
He had to do it, it was now or never.
[Sword Style: Defensive Arc: Eight Steps Rotating Blank Evasion]
Shiro's figure instantly blurred out as his sword met Shin's fist accurately putting a stop to the barrage of attacks. Shin was shocked to see his fist been blocked by Shiro's sword, he knew that Shiro couldn't track his attack with martial awareness because of his race innate ability to manipulate the space around them.
He tried to continue the attack but he noticed that Shiro was no longer standing were he used to be, he broke into a cold sweat as he looked around to find Shiro.
'Up, down, left, right…, behind'
Before he could even turn, he felt a cold blade on his back. He had lost, there was nothing he could do in that position so he gave up.
"Nice fight and congratulations Shiro for mastering the technique"
Yato came out before saying, he had watched the fight and was happy to see both his students improving at a great speed.
"You will depart for the entrance exams tomorrow, go pack your bags"
With those words, he turned around and left.
