Chapter 28 - A Step Ahead of Necromancy

"Maybe I can help with that. I know a bit about controlling things remotely," she said, and I let out an 'ah,' as I walked over and grabbed one of the girl's headsets before walking back over.

"You just have to put things on. You will gain partial sight or full sight; all you have to do is use your mind to control them," I explained, handing the headset over.

The moment that she put it on the headset, the drone came to life in my hand and lifted up gently, and then started to fly around. The difference from when the girls were using them was that the wasp was moving smoothly, and it was not crashing into things.

"You are amazing," I said, and Kilna smiled as she made the wasp fly around herself and then me before looking at the one in my hand and then making it rise up and fly with the other one. I had made the headsets able to hook up to the signal of all my drones, but I never expected this. "You really have a knack for this stuff," I said, and she nodded.

"This is like an improved version of necromantic control. I am used to controlling dead bodies that are hard to control because you are limited by how damaged or old a body is. I have also used dead birds before for messengers, so this is just like that. I can see why the girls were having trouble with this, but this is something that I am very familiar with," Kilna explained as I created six more bugs.

"One at a time, how many that you can control at once," I said and then pointed to my eyes. "I am sure you understand how useful these will be and what they will be used for, right?" I asked, and Kilna nodded. "Good, now stay here and practice for a bit. I need to go see what info just arrived."

"What do you want me to do after?" Kilna asked as she landed the 2 wasps on her shoulder and lifted the headset.

"I will get you working with the girls inputting data into the computers until tonight, but I want you to practice with these until you are comfortable using them. I would like you to use them tonight to provide surveillance," I said, and a look of realization rolled over Kilna's face.

"Ahh! I see now. If that is the case, I will just stay out here and practice with these until you are ready to leave," She said, and I nodded and left, heading to my office where Rax and the girls were now waiting.

Once I was there, Rax tried to start explaining things to me, but I put a hand up. "Don't bother telling me. I want documentation so that the girls can copy it and file it into the computer."

"A what?" Rax asked in confusion, but Fawna spoke up.

"He wants you to write down all the information, but you can just come and sit beside me, and I will... type?" Fawna said, looking at me questioningly.

"The thing with two buttons is called a mouse. If you look at the screen, you will see that there is one smaller picture on the screen. Guide the pointer, which moves with the mouse, to that, and press the left button on the mouse twice," I said slowly, walking over to Kyla and her computer as she did as I said.

The screen went white again as the Wordpad program I had created was opened, and Rax cried out as he flinched back and tripped over his own feet, falling to the ground. Fawna ignored him, eyes glued to the screen, and then touched a key on the keyboard, then her eyes lit up with excitement.

"Put a letter in the box!" she declared, and I couldn't help but grin as I walked over to her.

"Yes, now I need you to put many letters down, but there are a few tricks to make things look nicer and more organized," I explained and then proceeded to explain how all the keys worked. The entire time, Rax seemed lost, but thankfully the girls picked it up very fast, and within an hour, I had them both typing up documents at a reasonable speed.

"What do you want me to do now?" Rax asked, and I nodded.

"Go find Miles and get him to bring me all the sealed documents, and once your brothers get back, I will have a task for all of you," I explained, and Rax left to find Miles. I turned back to look at the girls, but they were both deep into their work, so I left the room and headed back to the warehouse to check on Kilna.

When I arrived, Kilna was already controlling 4 wasps and had 3 more in the air. She was controlling them with ease and even making them do tricks. I smiled, impressed, as I watched her make the wasps fly in circles, and then I saw her take off her headset and turn to me.

"I think I am ready now," She said, and I nodded.

"Good, now I need you to bring your skills to the office. I need you to help the girls with their data entry. I think you will all get along," I said, and Kilna smiled.

"That should be fun," she said, and I nodded.

"Don't get too excited about this. The job is pressing buttons," I said, and Kilna nodded, following me back to the office where the girls were clicking away.

The moment Kilna walked into the room, she froze and stared at the girls and what they were doing with awe.

"I got 12 documents copied over!" Kyla shouted.

"I got 15 done!" Fawna declared as I walked over to check in on what they had done, but I had to suppress a groan as I looked at Fawna's screen.
