"Let's get one thing clear. I don't like surprises, and this will be the last time that I tell you that. While you might think that you have the upper hand in this deal, know I will take it out of you in blood if you try to cross me again by withholding information," I growled and turned to the door that something just banged into, but it had no effect, so I put my hand on it, and time slowed.
[Target: Steel Door]
[Use: Threaten and or stun humans]
[Transformation: Triple Oscillating barrel Stun Gun linked with optical sight controls]
The door vanished to reveal three figures that looked to be casting spells, and I targeted all three of them.
"Drop the magic or I will make the three of you piss and shit yourself worse than this idiot that thought it was a good idea to not tell me you three were in here," I growled as we stood in a tense standoff.
"So, you are the metal beast that people are talking about?" Asked a beautiful woman who dropped her spell first and walked towards me with no fear. This must be Grand Mistress Manta, the leader of her clan and known for using magic to control people to get what she wanted.
"I suppose so," I said as she looked around me at the old man that was still where I had tossed him.
"Miles, this is a bad start for you. This man is clearly not the type to be messing around, and you should have known that by his ability to sneak in here so easily and undetected," She said and then turned back to me. "But there is more to the story than this, is there not? Mysterious Champion of Numera?" She asked, and I nodded.
"There always is, but can you tell the other two to dope their spells, or I am going to lose my patience and get your hands off me. I have nothing for you to steal," I growled, and Grand Mistress Manta backed off. "You can all call me Razor, but my question is, why are you all meeting with me?" I asked.
"Razor, we heard you were forming a new organization and are interested in joining forces with you," Grand Mistress Manta answered as she waved her hand, as the other two followed suit, dismissing their spells while the old man seemed content to stay away from the action. "We have resources that you may find useful, and we think it would be beneficial for both of us if we could form an alliance."
I nodded thoughtfully; this could be a great opportunity for me to expand my influence, but this was far too early to be making deals without knowing more information about each family. I only had the basics so far, and It was already clear that very few in this city could be trusted, and there were eyes everywhere.
"Oh, and what can you offer me that I need? I don't know you, nor do I know any of you. I came here to set up a base, but this hardly seems like a good place now with the three of you here," I said as I walked further into the room.
"It doesn't matter where you go; we will know. I am sure you will find our own hideouts in due time. It is how you protect yourself that is important here, the bigger of the two other men said with bravado. This must be Boss Zaraki, the smuggler.
"Sure, but that still doesn't mean I will make any deals with you yet," I said, and then the last man stepped forward with a dangerous look. This was the last, the self-proclaimed King Kaido.
"Do you really think that we are going to offer something like this to you again, Abomination?!" The shorter man snapped. He was known for being deep in the government and good at summoning magics, whatever that meant. Still, I was not going to be threatened in my new home, and my bug was finally back.
The mecha woodlouse smashed through the wall making Grand Mistress Manta scream and Boss Zaraki yell, but it was after the King. It hopped on his back and then used its many metal legs to pin him in place, and the two top legs produced razors to press into King Kaido's neck while he was held up. The room became deadly silent as I walked over to him, smiling at the bug's choice of weapon.
"Here is the thing. I don't know you, so I won't make a deal, but I will kill you right now or at any other time if you decide to become a problem, got it?" I asked, and then turned away before she could answer the others that had their backs to each other. I was tempted to send my rat to rough them up, but I wasn't looking to make enemies here, just to make things crystal clear. "I do not take kindly to threats or surprises. When I have had a chance to learn more about this city, and then the rest of you, I will contact you individually since each deal will be different than the rest."
"What are you?!" Boss Zaraki asked as he tried to relax as pulled away from Grand Mistress Manta uncomfortably.
"Your worst fucking nightmare if you mess with me," I said, and then pointed to my Mecha bug. "Mess around, and this thing will be the least of your worries. Just remember that next time we talk. Now get out of my base," I growled, and my bug let go of King Kaido, who then burst for the door but gave me a dirty look before he left. That one was going to be trouble.
"So, you are just going to get a hold of us?" Boss Zaraki asked, and I nodded as he watched my bug wearily, not noticing my rat placing a bug on his boot that was small enough to crawl in through the seams.
"Yes."
"Not a big talker?" He asked, and I pointed to the door.
After he left, it was only the beautiful Grand Mistress Manta and me. While very attractive, women were not even a thought anymore, and this one looked like a snake. I had to hope that her spells would have no effect on me, but from how Coron had tried, I didn't think they would.
"Now that the boys are gone, do you think that we could have a serious discussion without you threatening someone's life every five seconds?" she asked, and for the first time since getting here, I grinned a real smile.
"I suppose it wouldn't hurt," I said, trying to seem friendly, but I was watching this bitch like a hawk, and so was Fawna.
