Chapter 10 - Construct of Chaos: Domination and Control

"Wait! I can tell you information!" The guard wheezed out as I put the blade to the side of his throat.

"Oh, you are going to tell me everything that I want to know and much more. I am not going to kill you," I said and turned the man's head to the dead guards on the ground that had blood pooling around them. "Because you don't want to end up like them, right?"

"Yes! Whatever you want!" The guard said frantically, and time slowed as I transformed the dagger.

[Target: Curved Dagger

[Use: Subjugating Human Guard]

[Transformation: Domination Control Bug]

The dagger glowed and then transformed into a small metallic bug in my hand. I put it up to the man's ear, and he started to fidget, and his eyes went big as the bug started to crawl into his ear. The man tried to scream, but I snapped him across the chin just hard enough to shock the guard's brain and knock him out as my bug burrowed the rest of the way in his head.

The room had gone deadly silent, and I looked up to see horrified faces, but I could hardly blame them. The idea of putting a bug in someone's brain like this was disgusting, but my intention was to get information from this guard and then send him back with clones of the other two.

"What did you just put in his head?" Rax asked slowly, and I narrowed my eyes.

"Go flip the bodies to be face up, and then remove all their clothing. The one with the slit throat needs his shirts washed, and the other will need both his pants and shirts washed, including his underwear. Then I need someone to sew up the clothing, so it looks like there was never a cut in it. If that is not possible, then we are going to have to steal new ones," I ordered, but Rax didn't move until Fawna grabbed the sleeve of his shirt and ripped him forward as I let the limp guard fall to the ground.

"Sorry about my brother, He is a bit flighty when it comes to killing. We are spies, after all, and none of us have ever had to kill, so I ask that you keep that in mind. Whoever you are, it is clear that this is second nature to you, but we are not like you," Fawna explained as her brother slowly started to pull the clothing off the two dead men.

I nodded and then looked at the other two that were with Kyla now, their backs turned to me. I walked over to Kyla and turned her around to reveal a scared look on her face, but I pushed her aside.

"Does this scare you?" I asked and waited for the boys to turn to me. Both had scared looks on their faces, but they both shook their heads no.

"It is disturbing, but that is only because it is the first time we have seen someone killed right before us," the youngest, Coron, said, and the only brother nodded.

"Yeah, I have brought people to the edge, but it was slightly disturbing how easily you killed the first one. Aren't you worried about someone coming to look for them?" Zarek asked, and I nodded.

"I am, but that is why we are cleaning them up. I am going to bring them back to life, sort of," I said and then turned to Fawna. "Anything on our informant?" I asked, but she shook her head.

"I am not sure what I am to be looking for, but I can't see outside of where I am, only what will happen to me in the time that interacts with the area I am in," Fawna explained, and I turned to Kyla, who was looking at the ground.

"Go explain to her what the little bastard looked like," I growled, and Kyla did it without even blinking. Results of the collar again, but it was what it was.

I turned back to the boys and then furrowed my metal brow, making some metallic grinding noises as I did. "Zarek, you can use all the magic types, right? I asked, but he shook his head no.

"Sorry, I only know how to use four base elements and combinations of them. I have no idea how to use Dark or Light magic," He said, and I nodded and stabbed my thumb over my shoulder.

"Go clean the bodies and clothing up," I said, and Zarek nodded, running around me, leaving just me and the youngest. "So, you are the mind controller, eh?" I asked as I took another stone out of my pocket, and time slowed briefly as it transformed.

[Target: Rock]

[Use: Threatening a Human]

[Transformation: Curved Dagger]

The boy stepped back but hit the wall immediately as I put the knife up to his throat.

"Wait! What are you doing?!" Fawna asked from behind me, but I put up my free hand.

"Shut up," I growled, not breaking eye contact with Coron. "I want you to try to control my mind. I am going to set my body to kill you if you try to make me do anything, got it?" I asked, bluffing, but it was a good one, considering my actions so far.

Coron nodded almost imperceptibly and then raised his hand as he started to write some glowing symbols into the air. I had yet to see a spell fully cast, so I wasn't completely sure what was going to happen, but when Coron finished drawing the letters, they vanished out of the air, and the boy frowned.

"It doesn't work. The spell can even target animals, but there has to be something there to target... what are you?" Coron asked curiously, and I was forced to pull the knife back as Coron started to lean into it as he looked over my body.

"I am a construct, a combination of metal and other parts," I said, and Coron went wide-eyed.

"That explains it. I cannot control constructs with magic, but there are other ways," He said, and I nodded before turning away from him.

"Good, now go clean the bodies and clothing," I said, and Coron nodded before running off to do as I said.

I wasn't sure if I could trust these kids, but if I had to survive in this new city, I was going to need all the help I could get.
