"Melody!" The comforting voice she heard was both familiar and distant, as if it came from somewhere between reality and dreams. As Melody's consciousness gradually returned, she heard Morgan's voice calling her over and over again with a mix of worry and urgency.
Even though she was lost, hearing his voice made her feel better. It reminded her of their past together and the connection they once had. The intensity in his voice grew with each time he said her name, making her more determined to respond immediately and find out what was going on.
"Melody!" He called again as if trying to wake her up from her own deep slumber. "I know you can hear me," he said before the call got cut off.
As she succumbed to unconsciousness, her body went limp, and she found herself lying on the bed, completely at the mercy of her own vulnerability. The weight of her emotions still lingered, though her physical presence was now still and passive.
