"Very bad, a girl like me should be practicing embroidery and cooking but mother forced me to toil in the farm today." Lin Wangshu answered truthfully.
"It is just a simple job, how can you complain? Your mother is trying to teach you important skills in life." The carrot seller said.
"Yes, Yan ér, I am only trying to teach you." Fang Mei supported the carrot seller while fake smiling.
'Just wait you big mouthed child.' Fang Mei said to herself as she stretched her hands and picked the fresh carrots, paid for them and then placed them in the basket.
"Let us go and buy some fish. We will see each other tomorrow my dear." Fang Mei said to the carrot seller as they proceeded with their walk.
They headed to a fish stall and bought some fish before they headed back home.
The night sky was aglow with bright lights from the lanterns hanged.
The pale crescent moon shone like a silvery claw in the night sky.
There was a blanket of stars on the sky that stretched to infinity.
The occasional barking of faraway dogs broke the silence of the night.
The small, green trees on the roadside swayed as the strong breeze hit them from time to time while some ruffled women's hair and light clothing.
Some windows gave out white and yellow lights, but the others were pitch black.
It seemed like the clouds had gotten a sudden fascination to the moon and wrapped themselves around it.
The moon's faint glow passed through them, coloring them white from grey.
There was smoke which was coming from the kitchen where Fang Mei and Lin Wangshu were.
Fang Mei was preparing the food as Lin Wangshu accompanied her to keep her company and also pass time as she had nothing else to do.
Fang Mei sliced the peeled carrots on the cutting board and told Lin Wangshu to help her prepare soup.
Lin Wangshu herself had never ever cooked in her life as her mother used to cook for her.
She decided to use her common sense and come up with something.
She poured some water in the porcelain pot and added some salt in it then stirred and covered the porcelain pot with the lid and sat back and waited for sometime before she carefully placed the lid aside.
The water was steaming, she then placed the porcelain pot far away from the fire and let it cool.
She then walked to the dining room while carrying the 'soup'.
The table was filled with different kinds of foods that were served on bamboo and Ceramic bowls.
Lin Wangshu poured the soup into three different porcelain bowls and handed it to Fang Mei and Qian Duo.
Fang Mei tasted the soup and was extremely shocked.
By that time, Lin Wangshu had already sat down, picked up her chopsticks and started eating.
What type of soup was that?!
Fang Mei and her husband - Qian Duo stared at each other in shock before staring at Lin Wangshu who was busy eating as she gazed at the food on top of the table and picked the best from each plate.
"Who taught you this?" Fang Mei inquired from Lin Wangshu who was busy eating the food.
"My common sense." Lin Wangshu answered as she swallowed the food that was in her mouth.
"What type of common sense cannot even cook proper soup?" Fang Mei inquired as she used the sleeves of her clothing and wiped her lips.
"Mine of course."Lin Wangshu answered abruptly making Qian Duo - her father choke on the food he was eating.
Fang Mei then delicately patted her husband's back and poured him some water.
Since when had her daughter's delicate behaviour turned to that unruly one?
Afterwards Lin Wangshu then took the jug and poured herself some wine before gulping the wine up.
