Soon, Gang Shi Yun could not hold on and her grip loosened making her fall onto the ground with a thud.
"You bad mother!" Lin Wangshu said as she titled her head and stared at her mother angrily as she blew her fingers to reduce the stabbing pain.
"I told you to let go." Her mother replied as she climbed down the ladder and left with her husband.
They left the ladder leaning against the wall.
Lin Wangshu titled her head up again but this time, she smiled unabashedly at the sight of the ladder.
Hearing the old gate creak as someone apparently pushed it open, Lin Wangshu ran to the other side of the wall and peeped as she saw her parents leave.
Fang Mei had glanced towards where she had left Gang Shi Yun but could not see her so she simply told herself that she had left.
After seeing their shadows disappear onto the road, Lin Wangshu left her hiding place and looked up at the ladder before she laughed out loud at Fang Mei's mistake.
She was hundred percent sure that her parents had left the gate locked.
To affirm her suspicions, Lin Wangshu walked over to the gate only to see a big padlock.
She was not surprised, she causally walked back to the backside of the house and tried her luck again.
After successfully climbing up one side of the brick wall, she used the ladder which leaning against the wall and climbed down.
She walked to her room, took a refreshing bath and put on one of the prettiest dresses Han Fu she found there.
It was a fuscia pink han fu with red and white flower embroidery on it accompanied by a spotless white shawl that she placed on her arms.
She also put on a pearl necklace on her neck, it matched her fair skin and was accompanied by the pearl earrings on her ears that swayed from left to right as she walked out of her room.
She had three flower like hair pins which had tails of beads on her midnight black hair that was finely combed into a bun with the other one cascading on her back as she walked.
Lin Wangshu walked majestically to the kitchen and ate some of the leftovers.
She then climbed up the ladder again, jumped down once she was on the top of the brick wall and left for the market.
The capital of the unknown place was filled with shoppers who flooded the city from all directions.
It was decorated with different coloured lanterns , paper cuttings that were hanged throughout the routes.
The shops were all open and the shop owners could be heard shouting out calling for customers.
The aroma of foods being cooked in various food stalls and restaurants drifted in the warm air.
There were little children who could be seen playing with each other happily smiling while some were walking around holding their parent's hands dearly.
