Chapter 17 - Chapter 17

Clyde and Ivory strolled down the bustling street, taking in the sights and sounds of the Rojas Night Market. They were both in awe of the diverse array of food displays that lined the street, showcasing an incredible variety of colorful and tempting foods.

"Young man, you must try our food here! It's simply the best in town," one vendor called out, gesturing towards his sizzling hotplates.

"Come try our delicious fried chicken, sir!" another vendor chimed in, holding up a platter of crispy golden chicken.

"And over here, we have the most irresistible fries!" yet another vendor added, pointing to a tray of perfectly seasoned and crispy French fries.

As Clyde and Ivory continued their leisurely walk down the busy street, they were constantly being offered different types of food by enthusiastic vendors. The rich aromas of the dishes wafted through the air, tantalizing Clyde's senses and making him feel increasingly hungry.

"Let's grab a bite to eat, Ivory," Clyde said, feeling the irresistible lure of all the delicious food on display.

With his stomach growling, Clyde grab Ivory's hand as he walks toward the vendor selling crispy fried chicken. They found an empty table at the front of the food stall and took a seat.

"Excuse me, sir," Clyde called out to the middle-aged vendor. "Could we please have two servings of your delicious fried chicken and a generous portion of rice?"

The vendor nodded and began preparing their order, and soon enough, Clyde and Ivory were tucking into a satisfying meal.

The tender and juicy chicken paired perfectly with the fluffy and flavorful rice, and the two of them ate with relish, chatting and laughing as they enjoyed their meal together.

Finishing their meal, Clyde took care of the bill and he and Ivory continued their stroll through the bustling street. Ivory followed close behind Clyde, taking in the sights and sounds of the lively night market.

The sounds of children playing and people laughing filled the air, and the sights of the busy street vendors selling their wares made for a lively and vibrant atmosphere.

As they continued their walk, they came across a lively and crowded area at the center of the street. People were gathered in a circle, chatting with each other and pointing excitedly at something in the middle.

Clyde and Ivory made their way through the crowd to see what was causing all the commotion and found a ring, where several people were performing acrobatics and stunts to a cheering audience.

They watched in awe as the performers put on an incredible show, and soon enough, they too were caught up in the excitement and cheering along with the crowd.

After a while, Clyde turned to Ivory and gently tapped her shoulder. "Ivory, it's time we go. I plan to visit a shop as you said earlier there are shops here selling equipment I might get something," he said.

Ivory was a little disappointed, as she was still enjoying the show. However, she replied politely, "Yes, young master."

Clyde could sense her disappointment and felt a twinge of guilt. "Don't worry, we will come back here after I've finished my errands," he said, trying to comfort her. Ivory's face lit up at his words. "Thank you, young master," she said gratefully.

As Clyde and Ivory made their way further down the street, the number of vendors selling food began to dwindle and instead, vendors specializing in equipment for dungeons began to appear.

The air was filled with the gleam of weapons and the shine of armor, as a variety of deadly looking blades and protective gear were on display for potential buyers to admire.

As Clyde approached the vendor selling daggers, he noticed the various types of weapons on display. He greeted the vendor, saying, "Hello sir, do you have any daggers you could recommend to me?"

The vendor, a plump man, perked up upon seeing Clyde approach him. "Hello there, young man! You've come at the perfect time. I've got some excellent daggers for sale today."

The vendor quickly opened a brown bag that held his various equipment and retrieved three daggers. He placed them on the table and said to Clyde, "Let me introduce these three daggers to you. If you're an assassin, I think you'll find them particularly intriguing."

"This first dagger is called the Shadow Blade," the vendor said, pointing to the first knife. "It's a level 15 drop from an Overlord and is extremely sharp. It has the ability to embed itself within the owner's body and can be summoned at will."

"The second dagger is called Moonlight," the vendor continued. "Like the Shadow Blade, it's a level 15 drop from an Overlord. It's a great weapon, as it has the ability to increase your damage by 10%."

"Finally, we have the Rupture," the vendor said, pointing to the third dagger.

"It's a very unique weapon, as it has a 50% chance to cause bleeding, which will damage your opponent over time. This dagger has a special history, as it was once used by a famous genius ten years ago."

Clyde was in awe of the three weapons on display, each one more impressive than the last. He was unsure which to choose. He turned to Ivory and asked for her opinion, "Hey Ivory, which of these do you think is the best?"

Ivory was puzzled. "Why would the young master need a dagger?" she wondered. She was unaware that Clyde was currently training in close combat and the dagger would be an effective tool for him.

Ivory was distracted when Clyde suddenly asked for her opinion on the daggers. But she quickly began to explain which weapon would be best, in her opinion.

She suggested that if Clyde wanted to initiate a surprise attack, he should choose the Shadow Blade. However, if he preferred a more direct confrontation, either the Moonlight or the Rupture would be the better option.

Clyde began to ponder his choice. "Hmm, what should I choose? I definitely have a preference for surprise attacks," he thought to himself.

The idea of being able to summon a dagger and surprise his enemy, then quickly decimating them, set Clyde's blood pumping with excitement.

"Uncle, I've made my decision," Clyde declared. "I want the first dagger, the Shadow Blade. How much does it cost?"

The vendor's face lit up with a smile upon hearing Clyde ask about the price. "This dagger, young man, is quite valuable," he said. "I'm asking for 10,000 dollars for it."

Ivory was shocked at the asking price. "What? This dagger should only be around a thousand dollars. This price is much too high," she exclaimed. It was clear that the vendor had inflated the price by ten times.

"Miss, my price is quite fair," the vendor countered. "You can ask any other vendor here and they will quote you the same price."

Ivory was still about to argue with the vendor, but was stopped by Clyde. Despite the vendor's unreasonable pricing and obvious lies, Clyde didn't let it bother him.

He was enamored with the dagger and was willing to pay the asking price. He took out 10,000 dollars from his wallet and handed it over to the vendor.

The vendor, grateful for the transaction, thanked Clyde for his payment. He picked up the shadow blade, admiring its sleek and sharp design, before handing it over to Clyde.

Clyde carefully took the dagger in his hand, feeling its weight and power as he held it.
