As soon as Cane mentioned the Asturi stem and the monsters in the north, Aeon knew what he was up to. Cane had discovered about what he had done in the north and now he was threatening him slyly.
At this point, neither Alan nor the King knew the Asturi stem that they were looking for was already in Cane's hand.
The King could see the subtle hint that Cane gave him, but Alan, of course, was oblivious to all that. He was too mad because Cane talked about meaningless things.
