Chereads / The Beauty Of Revenge / Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

Damian wakes up from the sounds of Sorin struggling in his sleep. Sorin was shivering and grunting violently, Damian could only wonder what it was that made Sorin so scared, but Damian didn't have time to do that, he shook Sorin, but no response, he then went still as a stone. Damian's heart skipped a beat, he didn't even know what was going on. Just then, the lamps that they had on in their room, began to flutter, and all went out at once. The room didn't go dark immediately, because of the curtains undrawn, but then they drew themselves closed. Damian reached for his blessed dagger, but before he could, his collar was pulled from Sorin, but with a strength not his, but rather someone unhuman, someone dark; a lamp from the bed table next to Damian flew open, and he saw the face morphed into that of Sorin, it was the face of a being so dark, so dangerous, and then it vanished, the face, the lights, the curtains, the room, and also Sorin. It began to change into something that Damian couldn't quite understand. But then it came into vision. He was in a garden, a garden where there was a sun pouring his love and warmth to it, a garden he recognized as soon as he saw it, it was Calm, one of the gardens of his mother, she loved plants, and Avyanna and Damian loved to ruin them, but not this one, this one, they all loved, Damian, Estelle, and Avyanna. Estelle was mostly not a part of the ruining the gardens club, rather she used to help people to clean the mess. It was only when he looked around, could he see, that he was not alone here, there was a lady there, seated on the grass, caressing the plants. Even though, this time she wasn't plucking flowers, or throwing mud on the floor, Damian could still understand that it was her, Avyanna Valliant. His best friend, part of a trio, which no longer existed. A white dress with yellow flowers was loose on her body, also something that Damian had never seen her wear for however long he had known her, she was into ball gowns, sure, comfy clothes, sure, but frocks like these, never. That was so not the Avyanna Damian knew. Then in just a moments time, he was pinned against a wall by her, her face looked nothing like the last time he saw it, which was a good thing, because the last time he saw her, was at the time of the accusation, when she was so weak, that her face had been pale, and the bones were starting to show. Now, she looked just like the old times, beautiful, fearless, and stunning. She held a dagger at his neck, pushed it in just enough to draw blood, but not harm him. She hissed low, but angry, "I thought I told you to stay away?" There was a warning and a threat both in that voice and tone she spoke in. But Damian wasn't afraid, not of her, ever. But then from how much he knew her, she wasn't trying to scare him, rather there was an unexplainable fear in her eyes, fear that something is going to happen if he isn't going to stop digging the truth out. But then he wasn't going to stop, he couldn't, not now after reaching so far. Avyanna let go of him after the blood had stained the dagger, and started chanting something, in a language he wasn't familiar with. The sun disappeared from the skies, and the skies turned black, with no light at all, it was only Avyanna's dagger that was glowing, it was carved in magic after all. She had turned away from her and had sat on the grass, he couldn't see what she was doing, but seeing her after so many years, he didn't care about anything, just looking at her hair made him feel calm, made him believe that whatever was going to happen now, it was all going to be worth it. Then, the sun blasted light once again, and almost blinded him for a  moment, he rubbed his eyes and looked in Avyanna's direction, she stood now, looking in his way, she had a locket of some sort in her hands, she came over and gave him the locket, her eyes were teary and scared as she said, "If you are going to find me, you need this, and from this you'll also know where to find me." She touched his face and standing on her tip toes, kissed his forehead softly, a tear of her fell on Damian's cheek, and his eyes opened in his bedroom.

His pillow was wet, but not from the sweat, but from the tears. Of course she didn't do it, I was right. He looked around, and everything was the same in the room, as it had been when Sorin and Damian had checked in. If it wasn't Avyanna who tried to harm Sorin, then who was it? what was the face that he saw?

He wanted to wake Sorin up and tell him about all this, to ask him to come with him, but it was the middle of the night, and Sorin looked peaceful now sleeping, but the way he was been struggling before made Damian not wake him up, and rather fall in a slumber, full of questions, confusions, and worries.

Leon hadn't been able to sleep the whole night, it had scared him seeing Cal like that, he had seen her cry, but never like this, jealousy may also have played a part in him not being able to have some sleep, not quality sleep, just sleep. But there were lots of more things in his mind, other than just Cal. Avyanna was the main part of it, Leon had found Avyanna, but she must've have fled from there after her attack. And he had found her in the humanly world, not the magical worlds, he couldn't understand why they had came here then. With questions, confusions, and worries, he slowly drifted away.

Cal was worried to death for Sorin, but she also wanted to kill him when she found him. Now that she knew he was safe, other worries occupied her mind, like what was going to happen now, will they actually be able to find Avyanna. Though she knew the answer she thought, what will Avyanna do or say when they found her. Which was close now that Damian had properly set his mind to it. A lot of things could happen tomorrow, each one of them could die, but the only person she hoped wouldn't die was Sorin and her, for at least long enough, for her to tell him how she felt, she was sure about it now. Though she knew all their queries will be answered tomorrow, she still slept with questions, confusions, and worries dancing in her head.
