Damian, Leon, and Cal, all woke up at the same time, 7:00 am.
The first thing Cal did, was to go to Leon's room, and the first thing they did together, was to go to Damian's and Sorin's room and wake them up. But Damian was both a bit dreamy and conscious. He lay face down on his bed, snoring like a giant having a stuffed nose and breathing. Sorin woke up earlier than any one of them though. His dreams were what woke him up. This sort of dream was a first for him, he was being choked, he felt breathless, and unconscious, but also paralyzed. But before this particular dream, he had the one with Avyanna, Estelle, and Damian again. This time too he tried to touch the veil and throw it away, and he was close this time, but then the bad one started, the one with the suffocation, and choking. He woke up not much before Damian did, but before enough, that he could see the dagger laying on the bed, something has definitely happened last night. There was a knock on the door, and he saw Damian twitch and open his eyes, but Sorin was the one who opened the door. His eyes flew open in surprise seeing Cal and Leon there. Sure enough he had said in his letter that if they wanted to come they can come to Scarrow, but he didn't think that they would really do it, Cal hugged him, and squeezed the life out of him. But he hugged her back without a speck of hesitation, his wounds hurt a bit at the sudden pressure, but he didn't care about that now, as this beautiful moment was going on, a hoarse bed voice came in between as a villain, "Who is it Sorin?" Sorin wasn't going just tell him who came, so he asked to see it for himself, which he did, while rubbing his eyes vigorously. At first look, Damian just ignored after looking, but at the second one, his attention was on the three of them totally. His mouth was half open, enough for a fly to get in. Cal smirked and and pit her hand out for him to shake it, he wasn't as sleepy as before, but he wasn't the most energetic either. Then the image of yesterday night swooped in his mind and he took his hand away from Cal's, "We don't have time for handshakes.", he says. He waves his hand to direct all of them to the couch. He then tells all of them about what happened last night, about the weird dream that he had, about how he had seen Avyanna, and about the pendant that she had given him. Which, while he was telling them about the whole thing, Sorin noticedthat the pendant was laying on Damian's suitcase. All of the heads turned, whereas Damian stood up and brought it back to the turned heads.
It was a brilliant piece of art for sure. There was a pendant attached to the chain, on which, there were thousands of markings, and magical symbols on it. The pendant itself was smaller than any pendants that he had ever seen before. It was an oval in shape, which, looked dark to everyone. But as soon as it hung on Damian's neck, it glowed a low light of purple, and then changed into a light shade of yellow. Damian didn't immediately understand what this was, or even what it was supposed to do. But Leon told him what it was, "It's a protection pendant, it's supposed to create a field of protection with the dark powers of a person who has the blood of a witch, and the person who is supposed to be protected from it," he takes a deep breath in before continuing, "but it can also be used to put harm to a person, mainly, their mental health. And I'm not entirely sure what Avyanna's purpose of making this was." There was a look of concern on Leon's face, where Damian's face was disappointed and in disbelief.
Damian then said, "That's what I'm telling you, she is trying to help us, and she wouldn't try to harm me, ever. I know that." All three stared at him in extreme disbelief at his words. But then their faces changed into understanding, all except Cal, she still thought that this was a horrible idea.
Anyways after hours of discussion, in the twilight hour, after having some snack, they went to the spot that Leon had suspected that Avyanna had lived in.
Cal knocked first, and to no one's surprise, there was not any response. Then she knocked again, yet no response. And just then, the pendant had turned warm, and then warmer. Damian stood behind them all, and smiled a little. It was the game that they used to play, just like hide and seek, but their were chits spread out, which read, warmer, or colder. Where warmer meant closer, and colder meant farther. He yelled in the chaos of the city, "I know what the locket means. It says that she is closer." All the three head turned in his direction at once, and all were as confused as the other. But Damian knew better than to explain right now, he just followed the pendant, and the others followed him without a word, but their faces were surely very confused. The pendant kept getting warmer and warmer, and there he saw her, Avyanna Valliant, in flesh, right in front of his eyes, even in this crowd, he recognized her in simply one look. His eyes turned wet, but there was also a smile on his face. He bit his lip to stop him from crying out loud, and started to follow her, which leaded them all to an apartment building. Damian didn't know what was going to happen now, but he knew, that the answers that he had needed for almost 3 years now, were all going to be answered today. It almost felt unreal, fake, but he knew that it was true, and it was now.
