I have not been given any instructions other than to help humanity survive and not go extinct. Life on earth is much harder than what at the time of the dinosaurs. Other than the magic and intelligent creatures that exist on this planet now. The average size of plant life is much larger than what it was. Trees taller than most buildings, more types of omnivorous plants and plant species more diverse than in the movie Avatar.
The settlement was alot more advanced than those first created by humanity millions of years ago. Because the people are alot stronger and smarter than those that existed before the 'resetting' of the Earth.
I'll be calling the other races of people Giants, Elves, Dwarves and Gnomes.
The settlement is alot more advanced thanks to the magic boosting the physical abilities of the people and the special characteristics of the different races of people. The giants helping with any digging and heavy lifting during construction and also transportation of goods, they're like humanoid heavy machinery. Elves help with farming, foraging and tending to livestock. Dwarves help with the architecture, carpentry, leather working, blacksmithing etc. Gnomes help with all the fine details. As that isn't really needed at the moment, they usually help with making clothes and help those who are sick. Humans with the largest population do a bit of everything, you rarely see a human who is as good as another race with whatever they are good at. They are mainly just there as extra hands. The humans are mainly apprentices to the masters of the other races in their field of study. But they are also in charge of security.
If you look at the settlement from the outside you'll see a city with huge farms, tall walls and a population nearing 100,000 people. The settlement is in a plains on the East side of the super continent, with a lake on the West of the settlement, a mountain range towards the north and a huge forest taking up the east and south sides of the settlement, blocking the way to the vast ocean.
There are representatives from each race who lead the settlement. They are the wisest and strongest of their kind. All of them had kids at nearly the same time, I was born as the son of the human leader. As the eldest of the all the children of the leaders I took a sort of leader position amongst the group of kids. The first five years of my life were fairly uneventful as all I did was eat sleep and play with the kids of the other leaders. I showed my genius when I had enough of the smell of the settlement and I gave my father a proposal for proper waste management. Although the people don't really need ways to prevent illness as magic improves the health of the people. I told him that proper waste management and drainage throughout the settlement can prevent it from getting flooded and people having to walk around in the filth of the others.
He was really impressed and so were the other leaders. They asked if I wanted to lead the project and I agreed. It took five years to complete the project as opposed to the projected seven all due to my efforts to revolutionize the magic system of the settlement, but I guess it's technically a city at this point. I introduced new techniques to make physical augmentation magic more efficient and created proper techniques to use elemental magic. As well as introduced new types of magics such as psychokinesis, transmutation and enhancements.
Psychokinesis, which is the ability to move things with magic. Transmutation, which is the ability to change the form and properties of anything non-living with magic. Enhancements, the ability to enhance armor, weapons and tools to add certain desired effects.
I have even proposed to expand the city and/or create new cities or villages in other places to allow some people to travel and move around even if it's a short distance. But my proposal was met with some resistance and hesitation. So instead I proposed creating a guild that rewards people who go out and adventure into unknown lands. Reward them for mapping the land, study the characteristics of unknown plant and animal life and hunt strong or rare animals. That way the city doesn't have to spend its own resources to learn about the world around them and reward others for doing it. It will also create new jobs and bring a sizeable new form of income for the city.
Although it took a bit of convincing, they eventually understood that the benefits outweighed the risks and decided to establish the first ever adventurers guild. The details took a while to iron out but it worked out in the end and we managed to create a proper organization that is able to handle information in a fast, efficient and organized manner. It was so good in fact that the leaders wanted to implement some of the ideas used for the adventures guild to themselves to create the foundation for a proper government.
