Chapter 9 - Chapter 8: Thanks for nothing

"Do you want this book?"

"Yes, thank .....you" she stopped smiling as she realized who it was. It was Dave's best friend or at least the guy she sprayed hairspray on. She remembered what Josaphine told her in the hallway and suddenly felt the urgent need to stab him on the shoulder or at least cut off the dirty hands he used to bully.

"I come in peace you can have the book" he said with a sincere look. As Olivia reached to grab hold of the book the boy laughed hysterically as he carried the book to the most highest place.

"Now even in your dreams you won't reach it, the librarian made it too easy for you so now I'm doing her a favour, only tall people will get to study atoms, molecules and whatever, shorty" he said as he made the most evil exit of all time.

'Old fart' she swore inwardly. I'm her mind she was fighting him and she win but of course she wouldn't dream of doing that for real.

When she felt hopeless she turned and saw Dave who easily grabbed her book.

"Here"

"If you're gonna put it back on the shelf, I should tell you I've already seen that."

"I'm not her to joke or insult you I promise" he said as his eyes lit with a pinch of sincerity.

He dropped the book on the huge pile of other stacked books. Olivia sat elegantly as she looked at him.

"I'm sorry about what happened that night, I've thought about what you've said and I think you deserve a proper apology."

Olivia was surprised, she never knew bullies said sorry and was even more surprised as she saw him on his knees begging for forgiveness but something was wrong she looked at her hands and noticed they had vanished.

Luckily she had prepared for this and as she wore the oven gloves she wondered if she would disappear just like her hands and legs did and as she looked at Dave she sighed deeply.

She thanked Dave apologizing and zoomed off to avoid vanishing in front of him.

As she walked out of the library she got the shock of a lifetime, she saw Dave's friends looking at her and as she was about to question them they brought out the water balloons they were holding and threw it all on her and in no time she was completely wet.

She screamed and almost immediately Dave was in front of her.

"Dave, you gotta help me they....

"Help you? why should I?"

"Because we're friends"

"Friends? I hope not, see Olivia I am not your friend, you treat my friends like trash and say mean things about them, "use me" they don't Olivia if there's anyone who wants to use me it's you" Dave said as he rushed over to his friends.

That cunning snake, he was the liar but she was the one who was all over the evidence.

She ran quickly as she thought of who would lend her a sweater, then it her, Josaphine.

She had an entire mall in her locker but she still felt weird after confronting Dave.

This made her reconsider her earlier decision because she didn't want to look like she was manipulating Josaphine too as she was about

to walk away she remembered she didn't care about his useless opinions.

"Too hell with him" she swore silently as she walked to Josaphine and as soon as Josaphine saw her she knew her brother did something to her.

"Fashion emergency" Josaphine yelled as she dragged her to the girls changing room. She quickly gave her a brown long sleeve shirt that complimented her already pale look and also gave her a headband to make her look pretty Olivia thanked her for the shirt but refused the headband because that would mean she truly was manipulating her and almost immediately zoomed off to her next class.

Olivia enjoyed the rest of the day without thinking about anything until the middle of the last period. Her algebra teacher had asked her to solve a problem but the only problems she could solve were baking and making cupcakes. The oven gloves were not too tight on her but they were not loose either.

"Olivia why are you wearing oven gloves in algebra class and why are you dressed like you just attended a wild street circus." the teacher asked.

"Sir, these keep me warm, I have this deadly condition that makes me vulnerable to low temperature"

"Ok, what's the name of this condition" the teacher asked feeling suspicious.

"It's too long but hmmm, it's hmmm skysatifra" she responded picking the first lie that popped in her brain.

She felt a bit relieved to see that he was buying the rather heavy lie.

As class progressed everyone talked to themselves except for Dave who looked at Olivia. He looked as though he knew it was a lie after all he had seen her in really cold temperatures an she never behaved weird if anything she looked like she loved Winter more than any season.

He knew she was lying but why? The only thing he knew for sure was that he needed the gloves off her to prove she was a liar but how.

He had caused an uproar in a hospital, faked a murder case, sent multiple therapist to mental hospital and even got a teacher fired but he knew she was more difficult than all the wrongs he had done in his life.
