Chapter 8 - Matchmaking Grandma

"What did you say?" Grana asked in disbelief. "You raped a man? What, in any and all manners of the word fuck, is going on?"

Meera sighed. "Don't be so overdramatic. It's just... I undressed him. Then he threw some water at my face and I regained consciousness. After that, he flew away from the hotel. Ha ha ha, what a coward!"

Grana shook her head in disappointment. Wait! What did she mean by a hotel?

"You stayed in a hotel?"

"Yeah, but that person is the one who spent money. Lucky me, right?"

"Not at all. You're still a virgin girl so you must behave well!"

"I didn't lose my virginity." Meera pouted her lips, aggrieved. "I'm not that foolish."

"I know." Grana chuckled.

"So what's your story?" Meera asked, propping her chin on the back of her hand. "What happened to you? You're not a virgin anymore?" She smiled smugly at the last question.

Grana blushed in embarrassment. "What? No!"

Meera rolled her eyes, looking annoyed. "Girly, did you forget that you are a married woman? I don't think there should be married girls instead of married women! Why did you even marry him? He can't even do his duty as a proper husband!"

"Enough, Meera." Grana's voice turned angry and serious which was rare. "He has someone he likes. So how can he possibly do that with me?"

"You're stupid." Meera sneered sarcastically. "Do you want to be a virgin for the rest of your life? Or do you want him to divorce you and go back to his ex after she returns? Aaaah! Don't be so clumsy!"

Grana was about to say something back when her phone started ringing. She glared at Meera before returning to her desk to answer the call. Meera shrugged her shoulders and started paying attention to her work.

"Hello, who's this?" Grana asked patiently.

"Hi, is this Mrs Grana Monorich?"

"Yeah, it's me. What's the matter?"

"Mrs Monorich, I'm a nurse from Obelia Hospital. Your family's old lady is severely unwell and wants your presence as soon as possible. Please come soon."

"What? Grandma is sick?!" Grana's chest tightened in fear. "Wait, I'll be there right away."

She quickly grabbed her handbag and car keys before running towards the parking lot. Fortunately, she was wearing sneakers otherwise, her face would become flat due to the heavy fall she might gain from running wearing high heels.

Grana drove as fast as she could until she reached the hospital. She pushed open the door and rushed to the ward where the old lady was currently staying. She slowed down when she approached the door to the ward.

Grana gently pushed open the door just in time to eavesdrop on a steaming conversation between an old lady and her stubborn grandson.

"What a dirty trick, old granny! Didn't you know how important my meeting was? I cancelled everything and rushed here to see someone alive and kicking!" Julian murmured, looking mad.

Madam Monorich snorted coldly. "You want me to be sick then? That's what you want?"

"Aaaah! I didn't mean it that way!" Julian brushed his hand through his hair in frustration. He opened his mouth to say something further but became silent upon seeing his wife's arrival.

Grana touched the old lady's shoulder gently, asking, "Grandma, are you alright? You scared me to death, you know."

Madam Monorich gave her an apologetic smile. "Sorry, dear. I just wanted you guys to visit me. That's why."

Julian scoffed loudly. "And you said you were about to die just to make our souls leave our bodies, right?"

Mrs Monorich's lips formed into a warm smile when she heard him. "Awww, do you love me that much?" She enquired like a little girl.

Julian looked away asking, "Isn't it obvious?"

Old Madam Monorich found him so cute that she couldn't restrain herself from pinching his cheeks and she did exactly what she thought.

"Ouch, what are you doing, old granny?" Julian rubbed his pitiful cheeks, slightly pursing his lips, his ears turning red. "I'm not a kid anymore."

"No, you are. Unless... You guys give me a chubby little great-grandson or a cute little great-granddaughter." Saying that she even winked at Grana.

This time it was Grana's turn to blush. "We'll try our best, Grandma." She replied shyly.

"Humph! Don't just try! I want a baby and that's it. I dislike words like I'll try bla bla bla. You must say, 'Okay, I'll definitely, absolutely, obviously give you a great-grandchild, you got it?"

Julian rolled his eyes at her words. "Old granny, did you call us to remind us that we need to give you a baby? If that's the case, then I'd better take my leave." He turned around to leave the ward.

Gosh, he had so much work to do but there he was... Listening to his grandma's babblings!

"Stop there, you little rascal!" His grandmother's roar made him stop in his tracks.

"What is it now?" He asked lazily.

"I want you guys to cook something for me. Maybe a chicken soup?" The old lady demanded. Nope... Actually, commanded.

Julian's face darkened. "Granny, are you messing with me? You literally know that I can't cook!"

The old lady shook her shoulders. "Anyone can cook if they learn properly."

Then she pointed her finger in Grana's direction. "Look at the lady over there. She'll help you to complete this task. If you love me for real, you must do that. Otherwise, don't you dare tell me that you love me, humph!"

Julian growled unhappily. "Grandma, seriously?!"

The old lady didn't even look at him. She stared out of the window without saying anything further. Her decision was firm. Apparently, madam Monorich was indeed dead serious.

Grana covered her mouth to prevent herself from bursting out laughing. Julian shot her an angry look before averting his gaze towards his grandmother again.

"Okay, fine. I'll cook something for you with Grana." He reluctantly agreed. Correctly saying, he was forced to agree.

Grandma's face lit up with a wide smile. "Oh, great! The kitchen is over there." She pointed to a room next to the ward.

The ward was a VIP room. Honestly, it looked like a cabin of a hotel despite being a hospital room.

Julian nodded his head and was about to leave when he heard her say, "But there are no ingredients."

"No problem." He took his phone out of his pant pocket to dial a certain number. Obviously, his secretary's number.

"Hey, what do you think you are doing?" Mrs Monorich crossed her arms over her chest, glaring at him.

Julian was confused. "What's wrong?"

"You have to buy them yourself. I want the best ingredients."

Julian sighed lightly. "He knows how to choose the best ingredients. So don't worry."

Mrs Monorich firmly shook her head. "No, I want you to buy ingredients for me and that's final. No room for further discussions."

"Aaaah, old granny! You're such a pain in the neck."

Grana widened her eyes and immediately looked at the old woman. She thought she would get mad at her grandson. But to her surprise, instead of getting angry, madam Monorich said back, "You're such a pain in the ass."

"Ha ha ha..." Grana laughed out loud.

Julian rolled his eyes and looked away.

The husband and wife pair left the hospital and went towards a grocery store. Although Grana had her own car, Julian insisted her to come with him saying that they shouldn't waste fuel.

It was Grana's first time sitting in her husband's car after the wedding day. She comfortably sat down and leaned against the seat, closing her eyes to rest.

Julian clicked his tongue. "It's still morning and you didn't do a single work today I guess. Then why do you look like you are worn out?"

Grana frowned. "Hey, I feel a bit dizzy, okay? My head still hurts. You didn't even make a hangover soup for me, humph!"

Julian scoffed loudly. "I must make hangover soup for drunkards? Dream on!"

Grana raised an eyebrow. "Oh, gosh! Really? Oh, wait." She scratched her chin pretending to be thinking. "Aaah, I forgot that... You. Can't. Cook."

Julian wrinkled his forehead in displeasure. "No, as Grandma said, anyone can cook. It's just I don't know how to do that."

Grana scoffed. "Okay, okay. Let's think like that... for the sake of your consolation and relief."

Julian threw her a death glare. "Grana!!!"

Grana was talking to Julian about something while roaming inside a supermarket when she felt someone snatch her handbag. She looked around in surprise only to see a robber running away after stealing her handbag.

She froze up for a split second before screaming while tapping Julian's upper arm. "Aaah! Jillian, someone stole my handbag. There's an important document in it. Gosh! What do we do? Aaah!"
