Chapter 9 - Lady Gangster

Without wasting a second, Julian ran after the thief. Grana didn't wait and watch either. She also started running after the duo. Thanks to her sneakers, she didn't find it too difficult to run.

Many people paused in their tracks to sneak a peek at two men and one woman running one after another. It looked like a funny scene for their boring lives. However, none of them meddled in, leaving them alone to deal with it all by themselves.

Even though Grana ran with all her might, she couldn't catch up with the two men. Was it because of her short legs? She started hating herself for being so short.

In fact, she wasn't that short. She was 5'4. But she looked short compared with Julian who was 6'2 in height. That robber was even taller than Julian himself. Nevertheless, Julie ran faster thanks to his training. He was trained to run Marathons since he was a kid... After all.

Grana panted heavily, looking around for the duo when she reached an isolated place. She stopped running and she started walking around instead since she missed them both. But she was sure that they must be around the area she was roaming. They shouldn't have gone too far unless they disappeared without a clue.

Smack!

Bang!

Thud!

Whack!

Clang!

Suddenly Grana could hear the noises of someone beating another person harshly. She thought of Julian immediately. Was he hitting the robber guy until he turned black and blue?

'Better not to kill him, Jully!' She prayed for the thief in her mind, swiftly walking towards where the sounds came from only to become dumbfounded.

Julian wasn't hitting the robber. It was the other way around.

Grana gnashed her teeth in anger when she witnessed that scene.

"Hey, you bastard! You stole my handbag and you even dared to hit my husband?! Wait until I teach you a lesson."

The thief was stupefied when he heard the ferocious woman's roar. But when he turned around to see who it was, he sneered sarcastically. She was such a beautiful, delicate-looking girl. How could she possibly teach a tough guy like him a lesson unless she had superpowers or something?

"Girly, look at your little man. Be with me instead of him." He winked at her. "I'll bring you stars."

"Oh, really? You might be thinking about how to steal stars from the sky as well, right?" Grana scoffed. "As expected from a thief."

"Of course, I can steal anything for you. Even stars."

Julian helplessly watched the scene in front of him, lying motionlessly on the ground. For the first time in his life, he felt so useless. He couldn't do anything or say anything when a stranger, a criminal flirted with his wife right before him!

Grana let out a loud laugh. "No need to work so hard. Let sister help you reach stars," Saying that, she stormed towards him and gave him a tight punch across his face, making him see stars as she promised him.

The robber: "..."

Julian: "..."

They were shocked to the core and looked at Grana like they were looking at an alien. They couldn't believe that she would do something like that. Simply, it was so unexpected and beyond their imaginations.

Grana didn't stop there. She kicked him and punched him in the stomach until he begged her to leave him.

"You wanted to bring stars for me. Why can't I do the same thing to you?" Grana asked, beating him up ruthlessly.

The thief couldn't talk properly. His voice was unclear as he shouted, "No, no, big sister. I was wrong. Please forgive me! Please! Please! Please forgive me, big sister!"

Grana aimed her foot at his lower part, one of her hands on her hip.

"How about kicking your balls out of you? Won't it be satisfying?" She asked with a playful smirk on her lips.

The thief broke out in cold sweat. Even Julian stared at her like a fool.

When the thief recovered from his shock, he started screaming for his life.

"Help! Help! Help! A Psycho Lady is gonna kill me! Help! Somebody help me!"

Grana let out a yawn lazily. "Don't scream, little rat. If he wants to forgive you, I'll let you go," She uttered, pointing her finger at Julian.

The thief knelt in front of Julian despite the pain in his entire body. "Sir, sir. Please forgive me. Please tell big madam to let me go," He begged him with tears rolling down his cheeks.

Julian looked away, waving his hand at the thief, indicating to him to leave. The thief thanked him over again and again before standing up and leaving the place immediately. He didn't forget to hand Grana over her handbag respectfully.

Grana's heart ached for Julian. She helped him to get back to his feet, asking, "Are you alright?" One of her hands was on his back.

"Perfectly fine," Julian replied with difficulty. There was a hidden mockery in his voice.

Grana sighed, helping him to walk. "Why did you risk yourself when you didn't know how to protect yourself?"

Julian huffed loudly. "Yeah. You're correct. You're the best, after all, my dear Lady Gangster."

Grana chuckled at his words. Then she tapped her chin using her index finger, pretending to be thinking.

"I'm pondering... About what else I have left to teach you. I must teach you how to cook and now... How to fight. Maybe... I must teach you how to wash your butt as well."

"Granahh!" Julian snapped in anger. His face appeared dark like charcoal. "Are you being serious here? You don't need to teach me anything."

"Not even about how to wash your butt properly?" Grana grinned mischievously.

Julian's face turned even darker. He glared at her like he wanted to kill her then and there.

"What's wrong with my butt?" He asked after a while. He couldn't understand why she had to especially mention his butt.

"Although it's slim and round, it does stink."

"Granaaa!!!"

"Ha ha ha..."

------------

The old woman looked at the couple, slightly raising her eyebrows.

"What's wrong?" She asked curiously.

"Nothing, Grandma." Grana bit her lower lip to prevent herself from laughing.

"Then why does he look like he has swallowed a fly?" She asked, averting her gaze towards her grandson whose mood didn't look that good. She wanted them to spend their quality time together but when they returned, why didn't her grandson look happy? Even his clothes looked dirty.

But, at the same time, Grana seemed to be delighted about something. The old lady could clearly see that she was teasing her grandson. She couldn't help pitying him in her mind.

'Tsk, my poor boy!'

When they returned to the kitchen to prepare the chicken soup, Grana didn't restrain herself from laughing anymore. She cackled like a hyena, clutching her stomach. Julian even felt like she would drop to the ground the next second because of her heavy, thunder-like laughter.

"Ha ha ha... So funny." He glared at her.

"Yeah." Grana giggled. "It's indeed funny. The look on your face... No words can describe it. You tried hard to protect your dignity in front of your precious grandma, didn't you?"

She gave him a provoking smirk. "I should have just exposed you."

Julian frowned when he saw her leaving the kitchen to reach the ward. He grabbed her wrist, enquiring, "Where do you think you are going?"

"I changed my mind." Grana winked at him. "Imma tell her what happened."

"Oh, really? Let's see how you're gonna do that."

Without giving her time to digest what he had told her, Julian pulled her hand, making her collide with his steady chest.

Grana was stupefied as she looked up at him with her glittering blue eyes. She shivered when she felt him brush his thumb against her lips.

"Wha-What are you doing?"
