Chapter 51 - Chapter-51 Creepy Warehouse

With everyone geared up and ready, Lennox, Kira and Theo was informed that Voragor could potentially be located at an abandoned warehouse. Nadia, Kage, and Vayuna discovered that this particular warehouse had been one of the first places that wasn't destroyed by Voragor when it first appeared. Despite its dilapidated state, it served as a perfect spot for him to lay low.

Lennox, Kira, and Theo cautiously traversed the dark streets, surrounded by the remnants of a city still grappling with destruction. The residents had been relocated to a safer side of the city, protected by walls and Nexarcs. The city's repair efforts were halted due to the looming threat of Voragor, leaving the streets eerily silent, like a construction site frozen in time.

They wore The Nexarion Striker suits, advanced combat gear featuring a seamless matte black finish with strategically placed armor plating for protection without compromising agility. Integrated technologies included adaptive camouflage for stealth, Climate Control self-repairing capabilities, and more. Mentor Kage's preference for stealth tactics influenced the choice of these suits, and also like other using stealth but mostly because anticipating the need for discretion.

As they approached the eerie warehouse, once a bustling hub, the atmosphere grew tense. Its transformation into an unsettling space raised suspicions among the residents of Vision City, keeping them at bay.

Identifying an alternative entry point, they determined that the best way to access the warehouse was through a 10-foot gate in front of them. Lennox assisted Kira in climbing up and over the gate, with Theo following suit. Once all were on the other side, they activated the built-in flashlights on their Nexarion Striker suits, illuminating the darkness surrounding the warehouse.

"What a creepy warehouse..." Kira commented as everyone started scanning the building for a way in. She shivered involuntarily, wrapping her arms around herself as a gust of cold wind swept through the area. They couldn't help but wonder why it was abandoned in the first place, leaving the reason behind its emptiness shrouded in mystery. Lennox, taking a cautious step forward, squinted at the rusty padlock on the main gate. Theo, meanwhile, traced his fingers along the aged wires of the exterior.

"We first need to get the lights on, and then we can look around for signs of Voragor without any surprise attacks," Kira suggested.

Kira stood with a confident posture, her gaze meeting there eyes as she laid out her plan. A brief pause followed her suggestion, allowing the weight of her words to settle.

"Sounds good" and "Agreed," They both said Lennox and Theo nodded in agreement, recognizing Kira's knack for crafting strategic ideas and plans. As they advanced cautiously, the air around the warehouse became heavy with an unsettling energy, generating an inexplicable sense of foreboding for anyone approaching.

The once-welcoming warehouse now stood as a forbidding structure, warning people to stay away. Lennox, lifting up the roller shutter doors, amplified the ominous atmosphere within.

"Everyone, split up. Look for the lights, but stay safe," Lennox said in a whisper his hand gesturing with a sweeping motion to indicate the directions each they should take. To coordinating their efforts but to efficiently cover the area while minimizing the risks.

As everyone split up to explore different sections of the warehouse, Lennox couldn't help but notice crates filled with old items and materials, contrary to his expectation of an abandon warehouse due to potential robbers.

Kira, while examining a crate filled with plastic from a doll, noticed a mysterious light blue glow. Before she could question its origin, the lights suddenly came on as Theo flipped them in the corner of the warehouse.

Inside the warehouse, the lights flickered inconsistently, casting eerie shadows that danced in unnatural patterns. Despite the unsettling atmosphere, the flickering lights aided in making it easier to spot their surroundings. They decided to continue their individual searches, while also acknowledging the possibility of not finding any direct leads to Voragor.

As Lennox walked down an aisle that kira was in, he noticed a dark, deep hole in the ground. Aiming his flashlight down, Lennox could barely discern anything beyond the encompassing darkness below.

'Kira, Theo, I think I may have found something,' Lennox communicated through his suit communication system, sending the message to them.

After a couple of seconds, Theo and Kira walked toward him. "What did you find?" Theo asked.

This hole. It seems too deep to be natural," Lennox pointed to the ground, eyeing the dark hole with suspicion.

"So far, that's the only unusual thing we found in the warehouse, so this is the best lead we've got," Kira said, her gaze fixed on the mysterious opening.

Walking to the side, Kira kicked a piece of wood on the ground down the hole. "What are you doing?" Lennox questioned, curious about her actions.

"Shh," Kira put his finger on her lips, signaling for Lennox to be quiet. Kira listened to the sound of the wood falling until it sounded like it hit the ground not too far and not too deep.

"The hole doesn't seem too deep," Kira concluded.

"Alright..." Lennox responded, unsure about what Kira had done but understanding that they might have found a way down the hole.

Utilizing one of the rewards from the Terra mission, Lennox's Nexarion Striker Suit, crafted by Nadia, boasted a concealed grappling mechanism. With a mere thought and a palm-out gesture, Lennox activated the mechanism. The fabric of his suit expanded, shooting out a strong, tight rope with precision. Kira and Theo observed with surprise, their curiosity piqued as they wondered if their own suits possessed similar grappling capabilities.

Following Lennox down into the abyss, as he descent down the rope played out like a skilled climber making their way down a rocky slope, Kira and Theo found themselves engulfed in darkness. Their flashlights struggled to pierce through the obscurity. Eventually, they reached the ground level, where a faint light illuminated a tunnel ahead.

"Let's split up again," Lennox suggested as he systematically unwrapped his rope from the crate and steel.

"That's a bad idea," Theo objected, concern furrowing his brow.

"Why? Because I thought of it," Lennox subconsciously retorted quickly, a touch of defensiveness in his tone.

Theo looked at Lennox, puzzled by his response. "No, because it seems like you didn't think about it. Also, we don't know what's down here, and it's already so dark," he replied.

"Theo's right; we barely have any source of light," Kira interjected.

"You're right. I trust your decision," Lennox agreed, recognizing the wisdom in their concerns. He reflected on the importance of trust and strong bonds, especially after joining the academy and undergoing numerous changes he hadn't experienced in years. He didn't want to jeopardize their safety.

"Wait before we go," Theo suddenly said in excitement, taking his backpack off.

"Tada!" he exclaimed, looking at both Kira and Lennox's faces. "This is my SkyWhisper Recon Drone. I built it from scratch a couple of years ago," he explained, As he twirled it between his fingers, showcasing its sleek design.

In Theo's hand, a small drone emerged. Its wings mimicked the structure of feathers, equipped with individual, flexible panels. A subtle bioluminescent trim adorned the edges of the wings and body. The main body of the drone resembled that of a streamlined raptor, featuring carbon fiber accents on the wing joints.

Kira examined the SkyWhisper Drone. "Nice. How does it work, and what does it do?" she questioned.

Theo threw his SkyWhisper Drone into the air, and it automatically unfolded, glowing white as it floated in the air silently. "It has functions like silent propulsion, night vision, camouflage mode, wind-adaptive flight, and wind distortion projectors," Theo explained, sounding very pleased with his creation.

"That has some good functions; it will definitely come in handy," Lennox remarked, nodding in approval.

"Especially the silent propulsion," Kira added.

"Thanks, guys!" Theo said, his face lighting up with gratitude. He held the gadget proudly, appreciating their acknowledgment.

With Theo holding the SkyWhisper Drone control, they all moved forward through the tunnel, with the drone flying further in front of them. As they watched the screen to see what lay ahead, As they thought echoed What awaited us at the end of this tunnel? Was Voragor truly lurking in these depths?
