Chapter 57 - Chapter-57 The Sealing Gambit

Lennox scanned Voragor and then looked back at Muttle. 'If I'm to seal him with the Orb of Aetheria, I need him distracted, solely focused away from me,' he thought.

"Well... What are you doing now since your friends are about to die?" Voragor said. "What will you do to stop it?"

Lennox sidestepped over to Muttel. "Voragor, you may think that your subordinate may win, but I know your weakness," he said to Voragor.

Lennox then quickly whispered to Muttle, "I need you to keep him distracted solely onto you."

Muttle nodded in understanding as he eyes showed readiness, aware of the necessity of the situation, while Lennox grappled with a sense of guilt for having to fight Voragor alone. However, with no other viable option at the moment, he knew he had to proceed.

"I have a weakness? Ha, ha, since when?" Voragor said, laughing arrogantly, a dark atmosphere emanating from him.

Lennox maintained a focused gaze as he lifted his hand toward Voragor, simultaneously releasing a fireball behind him as a distraction. His intention was to divert Voragor's attention, allowing Muttle to strategically circle around, gripping her katana tightly. But At that moment in a burst of supernatural speed, Voragor vanished into mist and reappeared instantly before Lennox and Muttle with a smirk, stretching his hand menacingly toward Lennox's neck.

'So fast. With that type of speed, he will easily catch up to me and Muttel. Maybe her speed won't be enough to escape his attacks,' Lennox thought.

However, Lennox swiftly absorbed back into his fireball, executing a series of rapid movements. His right hand delivered a punch to Voragor's stomach, causing a momentary cough. Seizing the opportunity, Lennox followed up with a left-fist strike to Voragor's cheekbone and a right kick to the side of his thigh, inducing a momentary stagger.

"Good, good. Killing you will be more enjoyable as you struggle," Voragor said.

Despite feeling pain in his foot from Voragor's tough thigh, Lennox calculated his next move. 'I should use this time to gain some distance. If he approaches again, I'll have to attack from afar,' he thought.

Gritting his teeth and Ignoring the discomfort in his foot, Lennox turned away from Voragor, signaling Muttle to take action. With a nod, she dashed forward at an incredible speed. Leaping into the air, she unsheathed her shining katana in the night light, slashing down at Voragor with precision.

"Hmm" Voragor, with a tilt of his head, sensed the impending attack from behind. As someone who had countless battles, he recognized the telltale signs of an incoming assault. Raising his hand, a darkness energy darker than the night materialized, ready to deflect Muttle strike.

As Muttle's katana collided with Voragor's hand, the pure darkness energy acted as a formidable barrier. The force of the impact knocked Muttle backward into the air. Lennox, witnessing it, sprinted forward with concern etched across his face.

Voragor, not content with just blocking Muttle's attack, extended his other hand, unleashing a line of darkness aimed at her.

"Muttle!" Lennox desperate shout echoed through the night as he dashed forward, his eyes scanning back and forth at Muttel and the darkness beam. 'With how fast that beam is going and how far Muttle's is already away, I have only 4 seconds to block... I won't make it. No choice,' he thought.

Calculating the limited time he had, Lennox halted his advance, realizing that he wouldn't reach Muttle in time to block the darkness beam. In a split-second decision, he conjured tiny fireballs in both hands and launched them continuously at the approaching darkness beam. Most of the fireballs whizzed past, but Lennox had one more trick up his sleeve.

'With the tiny fireball being so small, it will fly faster through the air, while it will do less damage. If just a couple of fireballs hit, it may throw off the beam, of course,' Lennox thought as he continued to launch more fireballs.

Understanding the physics of his miniature fireballs, Lennox strategically aimed the remaining one. Muttle, in a swift move, raised her katana into the path of the darkness beam.

"While they may do less damage individually, if just a couple of fireballs hit, it might disrupt the beam, altering its course," Lennox thought.

Finally, one of the fireballs hit the darkness beam, altering its course slightly, but it veered toward Muttle's katana. The impact with a nearby tree caused an explosive shockwave, sending vibrations through the air. Swiftly using her foot to bounce off the tree, Muttle returned to Voragor. Her sword resonated with thunder as she executed her Electro-Strike Lunge, slashing her sword and releasing a long line of electricity at Voragor. However, with a simple teleportation, he evaded the electric slash.

'Now is the time to prepare for the seal. I just hope Muttle can hold him off for long enough,' Lennox thought.

Lennox, running around in a circle, snapped his fingers near the ground, placing his fire underneath. But thanks to using his nexus energy, they stayed lit with two more fires he dashed through the center of the circle. As Muttle kept Voragor distracted, they remained within the confines of the circle.

With the ritual setup complete, Lennox stood outside the circle he created with a nod to Muttle. Placing his hands at chest level, palms facing each other, fingers slightly spread, he pointed a finger towards the center of the circle.

''Alright, ritual placed. Now it's time for the gesture. If I fail, I might not get another chance,' Lennox thought, determination etched on his face.

Lennox's mind raced as he attempted to recall the crucial details of the ritual. 'What was the other part?,' he thought.

Drawing upon the memory of Naidia's demonstration, he began to intricately weave his fingers together in a dynamic and fluid motion, forming the final part of the ritual. However, Voragor, displaying an uncanny awareness, abruptly turned, unleashing a surge of darkness.

"You think I don't know a trap when I see one?" Voragor's voice echoed.'This damn seal, I can't let it happen again.'

A wave of realization washed over Lennox. 'Why did I overlook this? He's experienced with being sealed like this. He likely noticed my attempt from the beginning, or perhaps he knew we would try to seal him,' Lennox cursed his oversight.'I need to adapt quickly.'

Suddenly, a distant roar echoes through the air, "What's this? Some last-minute savior, Lennox?"Voragor taunted.

Lennox's attention shifts toward the source of the roar. A roar? What could that be? A distraction or an ally? Either way, it might buy me the time I need.
