Mariath POV:
I finally get a chance to catch a breather. Trying to calm my breathing, I fix up my slightly disheveled hair as I pull out my STONE. There was no end to these monsters, who appeared literally anytime you took a step. One fight could last for an hour.
I could feel that even with my extreme reserves of mana, I was about to be in a bind. And this was just the first day at that. Back home, I was trained to fight against hordes of monsters, but this was ridiculous.
Looking at my STONE, I can't believe what I'm seeing. Eric was barely in tenth place, but now, he was at the top spot by a landslide. How many of these creatures has he slain? He must have figured out the secret that these events have. I knew of a way that I could inconvenience him and gain a lot of points, but I needed to know where he was at. Every time I went to focus on where he was, I would get attacked by monsters.
