After sending the message to my mother, there wasn't much that happened afterwards. Things quickly got awkward as there wasn't much to talk about and my anxiety made it even harder to come up with anything.
I made a pretty bold move last night and there was a tightness in my chest that may have ruined my chances. I held onto the hope that, because Lyra didn't seem to be disgusted or try to put any distance between us, I didn't ruin our friendship at least.
However, with all these recent events, my mental state felt so fragile. I didn't want to jump to conclusions, but I felt like I had regressed back to when I was a teenager. It was an awful feeling to constantly have these horrible thoughts, but I couldn't stop them.
Luckily, despite everything, I seemed to have more than I did in my past life, so I just needed to get through this rough patch and then everything should be okay.
"I'm going to head out for a bit. If I stay in my room for too long, my parents will barge in here, and I would rather them not see you." Lyra got up from her chair that she had placed by the side of the bed and headed towards the door. She whispered something to the maid and she nodded her head before opening the door for Lyra.
"I understand. I'll see if I can get some more sleep and hopefully, I can move." I really didn't want Lyra to leave, as just the thought of it sparked my anxiety, but I know I can't be overly reliant on her. If I did, then I wouldn't be able to take two steps without a panic attack.
"Good, please let the maid know if you need anything or if there is an emergency." Lyra gave me a little wave before walking out of the room, leaving me to myself.

'Hopefully, Saki will be okay without me.' It was a partial lie that my parents would barge in, as they don't care enough to even come to get me, but if one of their maids saw Saki, then they definitely would.
'For now, it should be okay, but I need to quickly head to the library and look into noble history a bit more. Saki's last name should still be Lingrove so if there is some correlation to nobility, it should stop some of the bullying. I doubt April will stop, but this way Saki won't be surrounded by judging eyes.'
I quickly made my way to the family library in order to look for any kind of evidence. It was common for nobles to keep a record of every family so as not to accidentally disrespect anyone.
If Saki was indeed from a noble family, it was either because she recently married into one or because Saki is from a brand new family. I didn't know too much about Saki's past, but from what I knew, he only had his mother until she passed away eventually.
I had no information on the father, which could be the key to this whole thing. Reaching the other side of the entire mansion, I walk through a massive double door and into the library. There was a library assistant who was an old man that sat at a desk by the doors. He didn't even bat me an eye and continued to read whatever book he had his nose in.
Heading towards the back of the library, there was a dedicated wall for all the noble families. I looked for the L section, which thankfully was quite low, so it wasn't a struggle to start picking out books and looking for Lingrove. The old man loved organisations, so they were in proper order, making it easier to find the right book.
Once I found the family names that start with Li, I brought them to one of the desks that were vacant.

Flipping through the many books, I found absolutely nothing. My plan was not looking hopeful, as there was no Lingrove family. I had a few close matches but nothing lined up exactly. It was beginning to get frustrating and hope was running low.
Even the smallest connection will work, as most people are in some way connected, but if Saki truly has no one, then I doubt she will last her stay at the academy.
'I just need to keep looking, I can ask her personally when I get back. I just hope she doesn't freak out or refuse to tell me because she doesn't want to get involved.' One annoying thing about Saki that hasn't changed is her refusal of any kind of help.
She knows she needs it, but she doesn't want any of the consequences to fall on others.
*Sigh* 'At least I know how to deal with it.' One bonus of starting over in a new timeline was that I already knew the little things about anyone I had met before. It makes most situations easier, but it can also feel like a curse.
Not that I didn't want to help Saki, but I felt obliged to. She had done so much for me in my past life that it felt like now was my chance to pay her back.
*Knock* *Knock* As I was deep in my own thoughts, they would be interrupted by a knock on the library door. Shortly after one of my parent's maids came walking in towards me.
"Lyra, I'm here to inform you that Madam and lord Owlvil have headed out for tonight." I tilted my head, confused for a moment.
'They never tell me when they are leaving. Why are they suddenly sending their maid to tell me?' This was the first time I was ever informed of their leave, which made me suspicious.
"Hmm alright." I closed the book I was reading and stood up from my desk. There was something off and I first needed to check if Saki was okay. The maid stared as I left the library, showing no emotion whatsoever, which only added to the growing anxiety inside my stomach.
'Tsk, this better not be some kind of stupid set-up.' It was a good possibility that I was just being paranoid, but I didn't want to take any chances.
Rushing back to my room, I saw that my maid was standing outside, which was a relief. However, there was still a chance that she may be in on it too. Although the maids are very loyal, I wouldn't put it past my parents to abuse that loyalty and use the maid as a way to spy on me.
"Welcome back, madam." The maid bowed and opened the door for me and luckily, my worries were not needed. Saki was peacefully sleeping completely untouched. At this point, I expected that every time I wasn't near her, something horrible would happen.
"Thanks." I walked inside and took a seat at my desk to relax for a moment. I still had many thoughts rushing through my head, as I still didn't know why my parents suddenly informed me that they were leaving for tonight.
An unsettling feeling plagued my heart and I didn't want to get Saki accidentally involved.
'I should try to get her home. It's beginning to get dark.' I took a look out the window and the sun was beginning to set. Surprisingly, the day had gone by rather quickly.
'I'll get something to eat first, then take Saki home.' As I got up to shut the curtains, I noticed that there were some people by the front gate. It wasn't odd for some people to be walking by, but these people were just standing there.
At first, I thought it was my parents, but when I tried to focus to see if I could spot them, it wasn't the case at all. It seemed to be a group of guys waiting for something.
"They better not be here to cause trouble. The last thing I need is a pissed-off father because some kids vandalised the place." I knew some of the anger would be vented onto me, so I kept watching for a moment to make sure they didn't start anything but, as I continued to stare, a flame suddenly sprouted from the group.
'These bastards, what the fuck are they doing.' I was about to open my window so I could jump out of it, but then that flame got a whole lot closer. Within the flames was one of the guys who had used something akin to teleportation to my window. They were completely dressed in black making it impossible to tell who it was.
"Hey Lyra~!" However, hearing the man's voice was enough to reveal their identity. Before I could respond, he let out a massive fireball from his fist, obliterating the window and wall of the house. Quickly conjuring an ice wall, I completely negated the flames, protecting me and Saki from being hit.
"Raja!!!"
