" Do you believe me now? I know he told you about his powers that is unique to him which can be called summoning but it's much more potent...well, you don't need to know about it. Just bring me something to replish the energy, the demonstration took a much larger toll on this body than I expected." Noah sat down almost catching his breath.
For now, his limit was just five slots which meant he could only summon five things per day and there was also a weight limit. That was something of a limiter placed on his power as anything more would literally make the magic molecules in his body to go haywire.
The entity was able to somehow work around the restriction but Cody didn't know about it because he never told anyone.
He saw Noah's pale face and finally nodded before bringing him all the food and ration supplies that they had. Noah was skimpy with it as he didn't have much slots to use for rations so most of it was beef jerky and some other foods that could be preserved for a long time.
For the rest they could forage the forest which had abundance of food and other necessities like running water that were without any pollution but he still taught them to boil it as he knew if these two worlds were similar people could get sick even when the water seemed clean.
The top of the mountain had a natural stream used by the villagers but as they go lower more monsters and animals would use these streams that could infect them with diseases.
Within few minutes, Cody came back with a bag full of food. Noah had recovered by some extent so he directly took the bag and started devouring everything like a animal and washing it down with water.
Cody was shocked but he wanted to know about the strange person and his revelations about his friends being in danger. For now, he trusted the other person as he didn't feel any hostility from it, just that it didn't act like a human.
" You have something on your mind?" The person asked between his eating spree.
" What do you mean my friends are in danger? Are you a god or something that descended on Mr Noah's body?" This world was filled with such legends so it was obvious Cody's mind would go this route.
" God? Maybe I am stronger than God of this world but I don't really know because I never fought him. After the contract, I don't have much of my abilities as this vessel wouldn't be able to contain my full force. The most I can say that the more the contracter grows, the more it can harness my power." The entity said nonchalantly but Cody was distraught beyond belief.
He couldn't comprehend what the person was saying. Contract? Powers? Do gods even exists? He never really thought about it because the life in village was fairly mundane with everyone busy thinking about what they would eat the next day.
Now he became fascinated loosing all his suspicion which would have been dangerous if the entity was really malevolent.
" Are you here to help us? Would Mr Noah ever wake up?" He pressed on with more questions. By now the person had finished third of the ration which was absurd as the food could feed their whole team for half a month!
What's more outrageous was that Noah's body started to change back to normal like the food he was eating was actively being use to energize his body and aiding him in healing his injuries both old and recent ones.
" Ofcourse, he is me and I am him. There is no distinction between us but you will probably not understand it. Regardless, I have to say it is my first time trying food and I don't entirely hate it but the need to discharge the waste seems like a pointless addition for humans. If they evolved in spiritual direction, maybe it could have been different." The person was waving around last of the jerky piece opening it's moith wide to directly gulp it down using the water to swallow it.
That was when Cody noticed that the entity was simply swallowing food without chewing which was bizzare but for some reason it fit perfectly with his rambling.
Noah stood up walking around in the tent like he thought of something important before stopping to look at Cody with that strange hollow eyes. One could tell the person had no emotions or better yet, no humanity in it.
It might not be hostile but Cody knew whoever or wherever the person came from, it might not be this realm as it looked at Cody like it was seeing past him like he didn't even hold a single significance in its eyes.
The realisation did terrified him but Cody kept his cool and quickly cleaned up the place and started putting his own gear. Since the person told him his friends were in danger it could only mean that it was Milo and Cyra's team.
He would be able to hear something from Bijan's team, a distress call or something but they were radio silent. He really debated whether he should inform everyone about the development that's when the person interrupted his thoughts.
" It would be a bad idea to do so. I alone would be enough and now I am all healed up, I can do things that the vessel couldn't even imagine."
" How do you-"
" It's not that hard to read humans, they think more with their emotions which gives off certain energy. If you tell them about me, they would only be worried abandoning their mission just to come to check up one me but I will be long gone by then." The entitiy paused to make his point.
" After few hours, I will come back with your friends but I know I will not be able to maintain myself in this vessel for long as it could permanently damage his brain or yet kill him entirely so I need you to be ready as after I return, It may take a longer amount of time for him to wake up but he will make a full recovery."
