Chapter 6 - Island kingdom-1

" Alastair?"

" Yes, Alastair Haynes, I was a former knight of the kingdom, but you must have heard about the disaster." The old man said it with a melancholic tone.

" Kingdom? What kingdom?" Noah did remember when he first met him, he was wearing full body armour, which looked like a medieval type he had seen online.

" Did you hit your head or something? It's Lulon Kingdom; I don't know what it's called now because of invaders, but you don't look like one of them."

" What do you mean by that?" Noah wanted to get more information out of him.

" It seems you really lost your memory. Is that why you couldn't use your sorcery earlier? I will tell you about it, but you should take this first; I can feel in your voice that you are struggling to speak." Alastair passed a large sack that seemed to be filled with water.

Noah looked at him suspiciously, thinking if he should trust him.

" You don't have to look at me like that. I don't mean any harm. I can understand these past few months had been a scary experience for everyone, but we have to trust each other if we have any chance at freedom."

" What the hell is this old man up to?" Noah thought and took the water sack from him.

" It looks like not only were you thrown into an unknown world, but now you also have to deal with the invading army. I couldn't have wished for a perfect start! With your power, I am sure you will soon rule this puny kingdom?"

" Fuck you! I have no intention of being a king!"

" King? Young man, I think the fever is making you delirious. Let me take a look at your wound." Alastair ignored him and began pulling out bandages. Noah wanted to protest, but he was powerless; it was painful, but he endured it.

" Oh my god!"

" What?"

" I don't know why, but your wound hadn't gone bad. I didn't have any medicinal plant and even went to look for one right now because I feared for the worse, but your body seems to be healing itself."

Noah didn't know how to reply; he turned toward the ball of light for answers.

" Don't look at me. Even if your body is special, I can't say the same for the internal injuries."

" It's still not sufficient to heal internal injuries. We have to head out before it gets infected with worms." The old man repeated the same thing.

Noah also looked at deep red gnashes that were hollowed out; it must be an old man trying to remove any foreign substance so that his body could heal itself. Fortunately, no fresh blood could be seen, which meant his wound really closed itself, at least partially, so that he didn't bleed to death.

He didn't know what was happening to his body, but nonetheless, he was happy about keeping his life.

" You know a lot about these kinds of stuff?"

" My soldiers would often get injured; I learned few things from healers."

" Can they treat broken bones too?"

" Of course, few of them even have the power to grow limbs, but there were only a few on the whole island. They were amongst the most wealthy families."

" Great, where can I find one then?"

" That, I don't know what happened to them after the war. It would not be a surprise if they decided to travel to other kingdoms or join the invading army for protection. With how rare their talent is, anyone will think twice before harming them."

" Shit, If I don't get treated now, I might have to say goodbye to my arm." Noah thought. He was fortunate that his wound didn't get infected, but he needed to find someone to treat his internal injuries.

" I know what you are thinking about, which is why I have an idea. We can travel to my hometown, which is high up in the mountains. I know someone there that could treat you, but there is a problem." Alastair hesitated for a second.

" You don't know if they are alive? Am I right?" Noah took a guess, and seeing his changing expression, he knew he was right.

" Yeah, after the castle got invaded, we tried to protect the royal family, but in the end, we had to make a run to ensure civilian safety. Without a country, the lawlessness plagued most massive cities; it was pure hell. People kill each other for a few loaves of bread, and the invading army plundering everything in its wake. It was... so, in the end, I decided to resign from my post and decided to return to my hometown but got caught by the Henwen."

" Is what that monster is called?"

" Yeah? Did you know? It was one of the tricks of the Sakya Empire. They are a vicious bunch." Alastair overcame his anger thinking about it but controlled himself not to scare the young man.

" Alright, but first, help me with something." Noah felt a genuine connection listening to the old man talk; it may be because they were both soldiers or maybe because they had seen hellish battlefields. He decided to trust him for the time being.

He summoned a few things: a complete trauma bag, which came with everything: gauze, bandages, triple antibiotics, painkillers, adhesive bandages, etc. Alastair was surprised to see an orange bag manifest out of thin air, but he didn't ask about it because he had already seen it when he was fighting Henwen.

Noah told him what to do; he was well versed in first response due to his military background. Within minutes, significant wounds on his body were patched up nicely, and he also took a few painkillers to relieve excess pain.

Next, he summoned food and clear water, a pair of clutches, and a fixed kneecap cage to keep his leg still so that he could walk. He didn't know if he could walk uphill, but if it was a slight elevation, he could manage it.

They finished everything quickly because the old man warned them about the dangers of staying inside a beast's lair. Other powerful animals could come knocking on their door because they like to challenge each other for territory.

Noah was confident up to the point when he walked outside; his jaw dropped as he looked down to the steep cliff!

" Fuck! Can't I just summon a helicopter and be done with this!" He cursed in his mind.
