Anna hesitated, rubbing the back of her neck. "Sometimes we do, but... they've never been much of a threat before."
Melina let out a dry laugh. "Maybe the ones you didn't see were hiding from something stronger. Monsters avoid bigger predators, after all." She sniffed the air lightly, her expression hardening. "Even from here, I can smell the stench of blood—thick and heavy."
Silver stiffened, his hands instinctively tightening into fists. 'She can smell blood all the way from here?' he thought nervously, glancing at her with a wary look.
"How accurate is your information?" he asked, trying to mask his unease.
Melina shrugged nonchalantly. "Choose whether or not to believe me. I'm just sharing what I've noticed."
Silver narrowed his eyes. "You don't seem worried in the slightest."
