Chapter 47 - Explanation.

Sean frowned upon seeing her actions and passed her another handkerchief.

He ordered with a deep voice, "Clean yourself as well."

"Thank you." She reached out for the handkerchief but accidentally grabbed Sean's hand instead. His hand is silky smooth and warm. It was oddly comfortable to touch. She quickly retracted her hand.

Sean's eyes darkened as he stared straight at Anna with a complex gaze. Her fingers were cold to the touch but gave him an electrifying sensation. He experienced a strange palpitation as a result.

Anna kept stealing glances at Sean as they drove to her house. He still had that expressionless look on his face and it was making her uncomfortable. She didn't like it. She didn't know if he was angry or something. Was he angry by chance?

"Is everything alright?" Anna asked with concern.

Sean spared her a glance before returning his attention to the road.

"Yeah, why?"

"I don't know. You just seem...off" She shrugged.

"I'm okay" He replied.

Anna was about to say something to him when her phone started ringing.

"Aren't you going to take that?" Sean asked as he glanced at her phone briefly.

"Errmm...No," She said rejecting the call.

"Is it uncomfortable to talk in front of me?" Sean pressed.

"No. It's not like that" She looked at Sean who looked like he was paying attention to the road, but was he?

Sean fell silent for a moment before asking, "What is it like then?"

Anna swept his gaze across him. "What do you mean, Mr Wesley?"

Sean's expression was grim as he reprimanded Anna. "Is he going to pay all your debts?"

At that moment the car reached its destination. Anna got out of the car without any word.

Sean took a huge stride and blocked her path. "Why are not you answering?"

Anna frowned and gazed at him unhappily. "No, He is not. He offered to help me but I refused. I don't need help from him."

Frowning impatiently, Sean asked, "What about the roses?"

"His little brother sent it in the name of Richard," Anna explained. She did not even know why she was explaining to Sean.

Sean's goofy expression faded away as he said, "One of my tenants moved out today. You moved in tomorrow in that apartment."

"I am fine. I already found a place." Anna replied.

"Just do as I say." Sean retorted.

"Mr. Wesley, I already...."

"Don't tell me that is your plan" Sean raised his brows.

Anna cast him a puzzled gaze and replied, "What plan?"

"Running away with my money!" Sean said plainly.

"No" Anna roared.

"Then move in tomorrow," Sean said as he walked away without sparing a glance at Anna.

Anna stared at his back with a baffled face.

"Attention, please. Everyone in Team A, please head to the meeting room for a meeting."

Ryan's assistant walked out of the office, clapped his hands and made an announcement.

I'll have to meet Ryan at the meeting. Sasha's heart skipped a beat and felt uneasy.

When Sasha arrived at the meeting room, everyone was discussing what Ryan was going to brief them about. Almost everyone's eyes were settled on the glass door.

A few minutes later, the sound of footsteps could be heard approaching the room. The door of the meeting room opened and a man stepped in, fixing his cuffs. His gaze passed over every single person seated inside, making them straighten their backs.

Although he did not speak hastily, his silence and cold aura were so intimidating that no one dared to utter a single word.

Ryan and the other staff listened to the three department heads present their ideas. He thought that the department heads had prepared well. However, at this time, no one knew what was going on in Director Shore's mind. Ryan put his glasses back and looked at the three men in front of him. The corner of his lips turned up slightly when he saw their anticipation. Then, he picked up the papers again and turned to the pages with the big figure.

"Meeting dismissed!"

Clark announced.

Ryan then stood up, "Schedule another meeting tomorrow." He left the room Clark followed him.

Sitting at her desk, all that Sasha could think of was how Ryan focused on his work. No wonder many women in the company admired him.

"Good evening! Director Shore" Sahsa greeted the moment she walked into his office. Ryan was already going through some files as early as it was. With the intense and bored look he had on, he must have been working for a while now.

"Director Shore, you asked to see me," Sasha said.

"Let's have lunch together." He stood up and walked closer towards her.

"No, I can't," Sasha replied.

Ryan raised an eyebrow, gazing straight at her until she started to squirm from uneasiness. Chuckling, he flicked her forehead.

"Why do you look so tense?"

"No, I am not" Sasha rubbed her forehead.

"
