June's heart hitched at his words but she maintained her composure.
"I know... You told me on the first night."
"Would you come to the airport to drop me?" He asked.
"No!" She breathed.
"I'm not good with goodbyes."
Subh turned her face around once again, as he noticed the gleaming glitter in her eyes.
"Hey...! We knew this is gonna happen, right?"
June nodded her head and sighed deeply.
"Please don't shed tears babe... "
He pulled her closer eliminating all gaps in between their bodies.
"This moment... What we have now... Is priceless!" He whispered.
"You have no idea how you have healed my life."
June didn't reply. She was desperately trying to put a dam on her emotions.
No one spoke any further. Both lay still, wrapped in each other's arms as they calmed their hearts from falling apart.
"What else will I get apart from the ring if I come to Paris?"
June suddenly murmured, putting a smile in Subh's face.
"A wet kiss at the base of Eiffel, a free ticket to my art gallery and a hot sensuous massage!"
"The package is tempting indeed!" June groaned, burying her head in his chest as she closed her eyes enjoying the temporary bliss that she believed could never last long in reality.
But deep inside she had already started to feel a sinking feeling, as if losing out, as if not able to hold on to, to reach out...
A soft squeeze on her waist, and June stirred a little. Subh's lips had already reached the crook of her neck as they changed positions, she was now sleeping on her back and him sliding down to seek refuge on her bosom. A soft kiss, and a crack of happiness escalated in the corner of June's lips.
He was hers, atleast for the night, and suddenly all apprehensions seemed to fade away into the sense of contentment.
"I'll miss you! " she muttered, and added a "maybe" after it.
Subh smirked too. Eyes closed.
