"..I wanna say yes..", I said after a long pause. "What the fuck do you mean by 'I wanna say yes', bitch? You've liked him for like a zillion years!", Ava said in confusion. "It's true that I've liked him for like ages now but seems like I don't know anything about him and what if I just like him but I don't love him?", I confessed. "Okay! You doin' that again!", Ava sighed. "Doin' what again?", I argued. "OVERTHINKING! Stop it! You like him, he likes you and that's it! It's not like he's a mafia or a serial killer. So chill and follow your fuckin' heart broo!!", Ava said in frustration while leaning her back on the counter.
Without answering her, I exited the washroom. Ava kept shouting from in there but I totally ignored her. I was expecting the hallway to be crowded but to my surprise, there wasn't even a single person to be seen. I was shocked but then I looked at the time and realised that the next period started ten min ago! Luckily my next two periods were free.
So I went to the library to study and also to get a distraction from my anxiety. Soon after I forgot about everything and started to stress about my studies which was certainly at the lowest level it could've ever gone. Suddenly I felt a buzz on my thigh which I knew was from my phone. I secretly slipped it under the table and saw that it was a text from Atlas. Intending, not to show seen on the message, I read the message from the lock screen.

[There was a sudden pause and I started to stress and finally, a buzz made me realize that I know how to breathe.]

Cool! JIM'S cafe at 5 pm.

An unexpected smile came across my face. Wow! That went pretty smoothly! Wait, if I leave school at 2, I'll reach home by 3 pm and JIM'S cafe is 30 minutes from my house, which means I must leave my house at 4:30, which leaves me with only one and a half hours to get ready! How am supposed to get ready so fast!!!?? Aahhh! Fuck my life!!
After school, when it was time to leave, in front of the gate, I saw everyone standing in our corner Grace, Una, Chole, Alex, Valentino, Matt, Michael, Yusef, Adrian and Atlas. He changed his hairstyle! Hmm... He looks hot!! I went towards them and he immediately put his left hand on my shoulder. Oohhhkay!! It is becoming official now!!! Wait, he smells amazing! This feels nice... Shit! I was getting immersed in his smell, I could have gotten lost! That's when I heard Grace, "So it's official!, I guess?". Atlas looked down at me and tilted his head wanting me to answer, "Yes.", I answered with a chuckle. Everyone was smiling after hearing that and a sudden squeak made us all jump, it was Alex, "Finally! Someone we can go on a double date with, right Matt?". Matt smiled at Alex's cuteness and patted her head, "My hair Matt!", Alex shouted. "What??", Matt argued. "Don't touch them!", Alex shouted back. "I'm not touching them!!", they kept shouting at each other back and forth and he kept irritating her making everyone laugh.
Suddenly, I felt butterflies in my stomach, when Atlas lowered down to my level and came closer to my face, I could feel his warmth on the side of my face. I heard Atlas's manly whisper voice, "Wanna run away?". I nodded then we started to walk away quietly, trying not to get busted by anyone and that's when Grace's voice made us stop, "Hey, where the fuck are you two off to?". Atlas glanced at me and then answered, "Date!", in a childish voice that made everyone laugh.
Saying our byes, my eyes glanced to the other side of the corner, Ava was standing with some of her friends and smiling at me and subconsciously I passed her a blushing smile. No, wait! I'm ignoring her, god damn it! Straight away, I gave her a poker face and saw her guilty and sad look. The past me would have felt sorry for that but after what she did to me, I doubtlessly didn't feel bad for her, not even a little bit.
On our way, Atlas started to talk about how scared he was when I didn't answer him but my mind was still stuck on Ava. Okay, maybe I was feeling sorry a little bit but just a little bit. Atlas dropped me in front of my bus and hugged me. I really thought we were gonna kiss but hugs were fine too. Actually, I fell in love with him all over again. When he did that, maybe he noticed that I was distracted and decided to take it slow, I thought.
