Chapter 12 - Conquest of the White House

Rose sat at her computer, anxiously awaiting Leon's question.

"I need your help to take back control of the Whitehouse," Leon said confidently, after seeing what happened to the Whitehouse, he intended to reclaim it and turn it into his base of operations.

The audacity of his plan left Rose stunned, as no one had attempted such a feat since the liberation has the White House.

Rose's initial shock turned into incredulity. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. "Are you crazy?" she shouted, her voice filled with both shock and frustration. It was the first time she had raised her voice to Leon.

"I'm not crazy, but I believe this is something I need to do," Leon insisted, his resolve unwavering.

Rose turned around to Leon and took a moment to collect herself. "Look, I know you're strong and you managed to save hostages and even kill a high-ranking member of the Liberated, but the White House is one of their strongholds. This won't be as easy as taking down a police precinct," she argued, her frustration evident.

"I understand that it's a formidable stronghold, but with your help and the resources I possess, we can achieve this," Leon countered confidently, gesturing toward Rose drone .

Curiosity mingled with frustration in Rose's voice as she asked, "What can you help me with? And why should I trust you?"

Leon sat back down and sighed. "I can assist you with technology, improving your drones, providing better electricity, upgrading your servers, and even helping you regain the ability to walk," he offered, his tone softening as he looked at Rose's wheelchair.

Rose's frustration faded slightly, replaced by a glimmer of hope. She looked Leon up and down, searching for any indication that he possessed the promised technology.

"Okay, but don't get my hopes up if you can't deliver," Rose cautioned, still uncertain but eager to explore the possibilities.

Leon reached for his wrist and revealed his super watch, a technological marvel with a holographic map. Rose's jaw dropped in awe as she observed the touch-sensitive holographic display. It was unlike anything she had ever seen before.

"What kind of watch is this?" she asked, her eyes fixed on the mesmerizing display.

"This is my own super watch," Leon replied, his voice tinged with pride.

"I can take it over and with the control of the Whitehouse it can benefit both of us in the future." Leon in a trusting tone.

"What can you help me with huh,?" Rose asked with an unsure tone.

Leon sat back down on his chair.

"I can help you with tech, for your drones, electricity, more sever, and even help you walk again," Leon said softly, looking at Rose's wheelchair.

"What tech can you help me with?" Rose with frustration in her voice about Leon talking about her wheelchair but she still had hope in her voice, looked Leon up and down, scanning to see any special item on him.

"Ok, but don't get too excited when you see it" Leon said to Rose because this is the first time he showing anyone his super watch.

"Ok," Rose said with disappointment, thinking Leon has nothing with good tech on him.

Leon grabbed his watch and twisted the top showing the holographic map.

Rose was shocked with her mouth open looking at the super watch wondering what kind of watch it that.

Rose slides across to Leon.

"What kind of watch is this?"

"This is my own super watch" Leon answered

Rose couldn't resist touching the holographic map, dragging and zooming in on specific areas. "This is the first type of holographic map that allows touch interaction. It's incredible," she exclaimed, her shock and amazement evident. She had seen many holographic maps before, but none that could be physically interacted with.

"Is anyone else in possession of this type of watch, and are there more of them?" Rose inquired, her curiosity piqued.

"No one else has one, and I'm not sure if there are more," Leon replied honestly, he can get more from the system shop, but he was intrigued by Rose's line of questioning.

"Why do you ask? Do you want one?" Leon inquired in return, trying to discern her motives.

Rose hesitated for a moment before answering. "First, it could be dangerous if others knew or possessed this technology. And secondly, yes, I do want one," she admitted truthfully.

Leon paused, considering her response. "I can give you one," he offered unexpectedly.

"I thought you said you didn't know if there were more," Rose replied, uncertain but clearly excited by the prospect.

Leon turned off his super watch and smiled. "I can make that happen, but first, you need to help me."

"Now, let's discuss the capabilities of the watch, how your drones can assist me, and our plan for infiltrating the White House," Rose prompted, her curiosity overriding any doubts she may have had.

Leon began explaining the various functions of the super watch, outlining the specific areas where he required Rose's assistance. They discussed their strategy for the White House mission, meticulously planning their approach and marking the necessary tasks on the computer.

After three hours of intense discussion, Leon and Rose concluded their planning session, acknowledging the challenges that lay ahead.

"I hope you're ready for tomorrow," Rose said with a yawn, the weariness of their preparations evident in her voice. It was her first major mission, and the weight of it all was beginning to sink in.

"I will be. I'm going to sleep in the room next door," Leon informed her, preparing to retire for the night.

"Okay," Rose replied, her eyes fixed on Leon as he made his way to the adjacent room.

"Bye," Leon said as he opened the door and disappeared into his room.

"Sigh!"

Rose sighed with relief. It had been years since she had interacted with anyone, especially a man. After a few minutes of calming herself, she returned to her computer, continuing her work.

Leon, wearing only a towel, entered his room and closed the door behind him. He marveled at the availability of power and water, wondering how Rose had managed to set it up, considering her wheelchair-bound condition.

As the hot water from the shower cascaded over him, Leon contemplated multiple future plans, each intertwining with the mission at the White House. After spending ten minutes under the invigorating spray, he emerged and stood by the window, gazing at the city's battered landscape illuminated by sporadic flashes of light.

"This city is nearly destroyed," Leon murmured, a hint of worry creeping into his voice. He closed the blinds and settled on the edge of the bed, unpacking his food for a meal.

"Now, let's prepare for tomorrow. I have a lot to do," Leon declared, shifting his focus to the tasks that awaited him. He began purchasing essential equipment from the online system shop, selecting earpieces, a med kit, thermal goggles, new body armor, gloves, combat boots, and additional ammunition for his weapons. He also considered purchasing explosive breaching devices but decided against it, not wanting to cause excessive destruction to the White House, as it would serve as his base of operations.

After finalizing the purchases, Leon's new gear appeared on the bed. Satisfied with his preparations, he remembered the earpiece he had promised Rose.

"Tap!"

"Tap!"

Knocking gently on Rose's door, Leon waited until she opened it, still appearing groggy from sleep.

Rose's eyes widened in surprise as she glanced at the half-naked Leon, quickly covering her eye with her hand "Thank you for the earpiece," she responded, her voice laced with nervousness and appreciation, but she can still see Leon's body through her fingers, she grabbed the earpiece with her other hand.

"I'm sorry for being half-naked," Leon apologized, after offering her the earpiece as he explained its purpose.

Leon turned and headed back to his room, closing the door behind him. Rose stood there for a moment, contemplating what had just transpired.

"What just happened? And what kind of tattoo was that?" Rose wondered aloud, her curiosity piqued by the tattoo she had spotted on Leon's back.

"There's something special about that tattoo, I can feel it," she murmured, her tone tinged with intrigue.
