She thanked him for believing her story and trusting her, and for allowing her to stay in his house while keeping her secret from the public.
And while they were leaving the house, they saw Adam coming towards them.
Talan tried to ignore him, but he was quick-witted, to notice and cut his way, focusing with his dark eyes on the one standing behind the other in panic.
-(Where are you going with this wickedness?) Adam said.
Talan sighed impatiently :
- (How about to stop calling her these insulting adjectives first, and then we talk).
Adam furrowed his eyebrows, suppressing his anger and feeling betrayed. And he added:
-(Really amazing. You would side with this fiery woman you met just now, and abandon the friend with whom you spent the years of your life?).
-(I did not abandon you, Adam. I just act rationally and I do not like the sudden change in your behavior. You have always respected women and dealt kindly with others under any circumstances. That is why the girl has a name, i hope you call her by it rather than your attempt to diminish her value) .
-(Well, then where are you going with this Princess Amalia).
Talan rolled his eyes boredly at the other's sarcasm :
-(As long as you hate her and can't stand seeing her, I decided to take her to stay with me in my house so that she can take her rest and you also do the same).
Adam advanced his steps close from Amalias , crossing the small distance separating them, and staring at her with threatening looks.
He finally smiled and added:
-(Really? And do you think I'll let her out of my sight? She'll stay here in my house so I watch Her Majesty's every move ).
He smiled wickedly as he leaned closer to her ear and whispered:
-(Welcome to the first layer of your awaited hell).
The way he threw his words at her sent chills and tension within her, but at the same time she felt relieved that her identity would not be revealed to the public and she would be safe as long as she did not disturb him.
Talan nodded in agreement.
-(Well then, as you wish).
Then, turning to stare at Amalia's face, he added:
-( If you need anything or this idiot bothers you, don't hesitate to call me, I'll just be next door ).
She nodded her head, feigning a smile, so that Talan would return to his house while she and Adam entered the house again.
He closed the door tightly, and when he was sure that they were alone, he grabbed her wrist firmly and said:
-(I admit that you are a convincing actress, but now tell me what you did to Talan. What spell did you cast on him so that he believed you so easily?).
She blinked her eyes several times, not believing what she was hearing.
-(I didn't do anything to him. If I wanted to bewitch him, I would bewitch you too. Also, I'm not able to practice spells properly yet because of my physical weakness).
She paused for a moment, then continued:
-(It's just that Talan is a conscious man and he trusts me unlike you).
-(And do you think that the matter is up to me? If you were another girl, I would have pity on you and welcomed you, but you were raised in the height of the "flamethrower" as her daughter, and she is the one who destroyed the lives of everyone here. She made me lose everything because of a tree).
-(And do you think that I had the choice to become her daughter? I told you my story and you know that she made me lose everything I had as well, even my soul, , because of a tree. But at least you had the choice to escape and avoid everything that happened with you, as for me Unfortunately, I didn't have a choice)
Adam was at the height of his anger now, as he felt as if she was accusing him of being the reason for everything that happened to him and the people of this village, and yet that was the truth that he had always tried to deny.
His tone grew sharper and higher, trying to make her feel the same burning feeling she had made him feel:
-(No. We all have a choice, and you chose to do nothing and enjoy living with your new great mother. At least admit that you were like your parents full of greed and stop covering your flaws with this innocence, because it won't work on me like it did on Talan ).
Her eyes filled with tears with every word he threw at her, and so as not to appear weak in front of him, she released her wrist from his grip and turned to the other side, facing him with her back and staring up, trying to prevent her tears from falling. His last words were like a sword piercing her little weak heart. As for him, he felt nothing but anger.
He added:
-(From now on, in exchange for your staying here, you are responsible for all the house chores. Washing clothes, utensils, and daily meals, and you are forbidden to leave the house if you want to preserve your life. People here will also hate you if they discover your identity, as you know).
She turned around again to meet him with eyes wide in shock.
-(I can't do all this alone. My body is weak and I get dizzy easily if I exert myself. Even the mother's magic , "Tamader" and couldn't cure me).
Adam giggled sarcastically.
-(you was the daughter of the ruler there and surrounded by servants, but here you are the daughter of this house and its servant, so it is better that you go to wash my clothes that are in the basket in my room).
Amalia found herself with no other solution than to submit to his demands in exchange for his silence on her public revelations.
(Okay. And where is your room?).
Adam smiled sideways at what he considered his victory, and added:
-(You have enough time to find it until I return from hunting with Talan).
He left the house, leaving the girl behind him to blame herself for her failure.
Hours passed and Talan and Adam was out fishing while the other one was going up and down the stairs. She struggles with the laundry while speaking to herself in an audible voice:
-(What is this amount of clothes? Does he think he is a prince?).
She was comfortable rubbing clothes and carrying them from one place to another.
As she moved around, she began to feel a heavy headache inside her head, as if a hammer hit her head non-stop. Followed by a loss of balance and feeling dizzy. Until the clothes fell from her hands, to fall as well, and her body hit the cold ground.
After another hour passed, Adam and Talan returned from hunting, giggling and chatting with pride about the amount of their catch today, and they were surprised by the abundance they found today unusually.
Talan went to his house, while the other went home too, and the smile did not leave his face.
As soon as he opened the door, his forest eyes met her weak body, shocked to the ground.
He put the basket of fish on the ground and rushed to it, shaking it, shouting:
-(Oh, flaming !!? Wake up...Wake up).
He tried to wake her up, but got no response from her.
He thought to himself, remembering that she told him about her physical weakness, but he ignored her and mocked her.
he brought cold water from the kitchen, hesitating whether it will work on her or not with her condition, because she is not human like them.
He didn't know what to do so he threw it all straight at her face.
Seconds to start coughing continuously while blinking her eyes until she opened them and regained some of her awareness.
She quickly got up from the ground and asked:
-(How did you get here? Why did you throw me in cold water?).
Meanwhile, Adam's hand was patting her back without realizing it because of his anxiety.
As soon as she noticed his hand, he removed it quickly and walked away coughing in tension.
Amalia added:
-(I didn't mean to evade work, it happened suddenly and I only felt myself falling, so don't misunderstand. I'll go immediately and finish it).
She tried to stand on her two legs, but she lost her balance again and was about to fall all over, had he not grabbed her by the hand and lifted her, saying:
-(You don't have to finish it now. Go and lay down. I hate sickness and sick people in my house ).
Amalia shook her head stubbornly.
-(No, I do not leave my work in the middle of it).
She adjusted her stance to carry the clothes, one after the other, until the other shouted at her in concern:
-(I told you to go upstairs and lay down, these are my clothes and I am responsible for them).
she was horrified by his tone at first, then smiled.
-(Well, you get what you want).
She turned her back on him and went up the stairs with careful steps, while the other put his hand on his heart, which was poking him with pain. And he said to himself:
-(What did this flaming do to my heart ? It got completely out of control. Or not, maybe this is the fake feeling of guilt for what befell her).
He collected his clothes and put them in the basket again. Then he went down, grabbed the fish he had left at the door, and took it to the kitchen.
While preparing dinner. Amalia above holding her heart smiling involuntarily and speaking to herself:
-(He is kind and not as ruthless as he pretends to be. Perhaps I should pass out all the time to receive such kind treatment and attention from him.)
She caught herself smiling, and she scolded herself.
"What nonsense am I spouting? Is it possible that I was touched by one nice act of his? What a sensitive, attention-seeking girl!"
She laughed to herself and then fell into a deep sleep.
More hours passed and the sky darkened while Amalia was still asleep. While Adam, who was downstairs in his humble kitchen, finished preparing dinner.
He put the fried fish dish with rice and salad on the table, and sat down to start eating alone, as usual.
Suddenly, he remembered Amalia and that she had not eaten since the morning, and was physically tired, so he wondered if he should invite her to have dinner with him, and what should he cook for her.
As soon as he remembered that she was a flaming witch, he had an infernal idea to prepare a special dish for her.
In the area all witches feed on the living and the dead. So he went out and came back quickly carrying in his hand a slaughtered cat and a bag full of earthworms, then he put them in a large dish on the table.
He called her to come down and his malicious side smile did not leave him.
When he didn't receive a reply from her, he went up to her room and opened the door loudly, screaming:
-(When I call you t...).
He suddenly stopped when he saw her sleeping deeply like an angel and that innocence on her face made him speechless for a moment.
His heart beat again violently, so he quickly put his hand on top of it and said to himself:
-(Not again).
He got closer to the one who was sleeping on his bed, and because his weakness in front of her scared him and he didn't like it , he shouted again close to her ear:
-(Haven't you satiated your sleep yet, you flaming one?)
Amalia woke up startled, looking around.
-(Sorry. Sorry).
That was all she said before she ran out of the room and Adam slowly walked behind her and laughed.
She reached down and the first thing that met her was a plate of rice and fish with salad.
Her eyes formed hearts from the beauty of the scene, so she turned to ask him:
-(Did you attend this dinner alone?)
-(Of course. You were in your dreams while I was cooking.)
Her eyes smiled as she approached the food.
-(The smell and sight of the fish alone looks very appetizing.)
She raised her hand to grab one and eat it, as he said:
-(Hey. that's my dish. Here's yours.)
He pointed with his hand at the plate of maggots and the slaughtered cat on the other side of the table.
He grabbed them and placed them beside her while standing very close to her:
-(Come on, fiery one. I hope you enjoy your supper.)
Amalia closed her eyes as soon as she felt the tears gathering inside her, and lowered her head so that he would not notice her, until he had already seen her.
He placed his hand on the place of his heart, tightened it tightly, and spoke to him in an almost audible voice:
Not again. What is it ? Do I now have the ability to feel the pain of flamings?
He looked at her again, then asked seriously.
-(Why are you crying now? Don't you like your food?).
He waited for an answer, but she just didn't reply, keeping her head down as she was.
The other's patience began to run out :
-(Okay. You can eat off my plate, but next time tell me what you flamboyant people eat)
HE Removed the worms dish and the slaughtered cat and brought a layer closer to it so that they eat together from the same dish.
And even after that she didn't move a finger. He extended his hand to gently hold her jaw and lifted her face until his eyes met her withered eyes, and he said in a calm tone:
-(Eat from my plate, please).
She blinked her eyes several times to believe the situation, then she pulled her face back a little until the other one embarrassedly removed his hand and sat on his chair facing her and studying her while she ate eagerly as if she had never eaten delicious food before.
The other put his empty spoon inside his mouth and hugged his face in his arms above the table, looking at it as if he was hypnotized by it, and smiling at its appearance.
He wandered in his thoughts about her until their glances met together, so he removed them immediately, and said:
-( its enough ).
She looked at him not understanding , and suddenly burped out loud.
She immediately put her hand to her mouth, almost dying of embarrassment.
And apologized to the other who was about to laugh if he didn't want to sound elusive.
He hated her strong influence on him, adding in a high tone:
-( What is this, my God? Can't you act like a lady, or have your flamboyant genes overwhelmed you?)
He threw the spoon from his hand on the ground and went out of the house, breathing some air away from her effect.
As for the other girl, she sat down to clean up her mess, then quickly went up to the room until she fell asleep, while his words remained echoing in her mind.
After a few minutes, he entered the house and went straight to his room.
He found her still asleep on his bed. He smiled mischievously and spoke aloud:
-(What are you still doing in my room? I let you sleep here before just because you fainted, but you have gone too far with staying in it until now).
She quickly woke up in a panic from his screams and got up from the bed.
-(So where do I sleep!!?).
-(Go downstairs and sleep in the kitchen. There's enough space for people like you.)
He signaled her to leave his room, but she did not want to discuss it more, and was content with silence over the humiliation she was subjected to and only implementation.
She went into the kitchen and said to herself:
"There is nothing wrong . No matter how humiliated I am here, it is better than living in the woods. I just have to endure ".
The other closed the door to his room and lay down on the bed, leaving the other looking for a good corner in the kitchen to sleep in.
She sat in the corner and lay on the ground, her feet crossed with her arms to the side, and she had adjusted her long dress to cover her, then she fell asleep like a little child, with tears she did not realize decorating her cheeks.
It was midnight and he couldn't sleep yet.
He turns and turns in his bed and his guilt kills him.
He stood with his back straightening his seat and said to himself:
Why is my heart hurting so much since her arrival? If she cried and was in pain, my heart ached too. Is this my guilt for treating a girl in such a rude way? Or did I fall first...
