He dismissed the strange thoughts that had suddenly come over him, and then continued to say to himself:
"Perhaps I should check it out to stop my conscience from reprimanding me....Also, She is sick.... Only this time" .
He went down to the kitchen, where he found her sleeping in the infant's position, but frozen.
So he grabbed her legs and carried her, then climbed her into the room.
He put her on the right side of the bed and covered her.
And He slept on the opposite side of the bed too... away from her.
The morning came and the sun's rays shone on the wheaten skin of that sleeper, caressing and disturbing her until she woke up.
She looks around surprised, not understanding how she reached the room when she slept in the corner of the kitchen.
As soon as she caught a glimpse of the sleeper in the same bed farther away from her, with his hair messy and his mouth open, she smiled involuntarily and shiver at the butterflies in her stomach with her heart beating wildly out of nowhere.
She leaned her body back a little, holding her stomach with one hand and her heart with the other. She repeated to herself in a semi-whisper:
"What's happening to my body? My heart hurts every time I see him. But it's not my fault, it's his mood swings that make me nervous and make me like this ".
She got closer to him, examining his calm features while he was asleep, in contrast to the sharp features that adorned his face while he was awake.
And with an involuntary movement, she started playing with his hair and patting his head.
She was shocked again by the movements of her body, which became unexpected and out of her control.
She quickly pulled away from him and ran to the bathroom. She washed her face and headed downstairs to the kitchen to make breakfast.
After half an hour Adam woke up looking around as if he was looking for something or someone.
When he did not find her in the room, he thought she had left the house and had broken his word. He quickly went down to find her preparing the dining table and setting breakfast.
He called her hesitantly:
-(Hey, you!! What are you doing? Are you enchanting and ruining my breakfast or something like that?)
Amalia rolled her eyes impatiently and replied:
-(Why do you have to misunderstand me for everything I do? I only made you breakfast to thank you for your consideration last night. After all, you are not as heartless as you claim ).
She smiled sincerely at him, which caused him to have a violent war within his heart.
He hurriedly put his hand over the place that had become sore since her arrival, while cursing himself and frantically spinning around the kitchen.
Amalia watched him surprised, and wanted to check on him:
-(Don't you feel well?)
The other snapped at her :
-(Shut up. It's all your fault. Look what you've done to me ).
-(Me?! And what did I do to you? I didn't even touch you).
-(And does it need to be touched?).
He combed his hair nervously and sat down in his chair.
-(Enough. Let's have breakfast. I'm hungry.)
Amalia smiled and started cutting the pie.
She put a large piece on his plate for him, then cut another piece for herself and sat on her chair facing him.
He asked her with curiosity while looking at the pie, as if he was trying to solve a riddle:
-(What kind of pie is this?)
She replied:
-(This is a watermelon and egg pie. It's healthy and delicious. Don't be afraid to try it).
-(Does watermelon and eggs mix together? I've never tried this combination but it looks delicious. However, I am disappointed).
-( Why ?)
-(I thought you'd have breakfast with something more sumptuous, like a live pig or something like that.)
-(Unbelievable. I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I've already told you I'm not that kind of flaming).
-(Then what kind are you? Curiosity eats me to know).
She thought for a while, then replied:
-(Well, I think the kind that don't eat live pigs, for example, or slaughtered cats, and worms, of course).
Adam understood her sarcasm, so he laughed, pressing his lower lip so that no sounds would come out of him. However, the other laughed loudly, until their laughter became harmonious with each other, and their gazes met to imprison each other in each other's eyes, until the pain began again in the left side of both their chests .
They lowered their heads to the ground in embarrassment. Each of them looks at his plate and eats nervously, until Adam broke the silence staring at the other:
-(Do you feel that way too?)
The other stared at him hesitantly. He added:
-(I mean in your heart).
She shook her head and replied:
-(Yes. I thinkmy heart disease gone stronger.)
She got up from her chair and continued:
-(I think I'm full. I'll clean the table and the utensils while you finish your breakfast.)
Her tension made him stressed as well, so he preferred not to argue about it more, and focus on finishing his plate.
Meanwhile, Talan opened the door of the house and entered to greet both of them.
Adam said:
-(Won't you ever learn how to knock on the door and wait until I open it for you instead of hacking it?).
-(You gave me the key, my friend.)
-(Rather, you mean you took it and made a copy of it so that you can enter my house whenever you want).
-(It's because you always take too long to open the door).
Amalia laughed at their childishness, and said:
-(You look like two brothers and your personalities are very compatible.)
Talan said:
-(Except for our outward appearences. As you can see, I am blond and pale, and my blue eyes are more beautiful than his hazel eyes. Every girl drowns in them).
-(But I didn't drown in them) Amalia replied.
Talan asked curiously :
-(Don't you like blue eyes?)
She nodded her head in approval.
-(because they resemble the color of the mother Tamader's eyes).
Adam suppressed his laughter.
-(And what color do you prefer in the eyes?)
She smiled at him and replied:
-(Hazel eyes, especially when exposed to sunlight. They have a special charm).
Adam fixed his position staring at her. He felt like he was meant to. What made matters worse was the way Talan was scrutinizing his eyes, saying:
-(So eyes like Adam's eyes are what charms you?).
He paused for a moment, studying both of them, then added:
-(I don't know why, but I feel chemistry between the two of you.)
Amalia replied, trying to calm the atmosphere:
-(No. His eyes are not enough to charm me as much as his behavior)
They both understood what she meant. At this moment, he felt he was damned even if he wanted to ignore the reason.
After a short moment of silence, Talan said:
-(So, I apologize, but I have to take him to the field, we have a busy day at work.)
Amalia smiled understandingly at him and saw them off, then went back to washing the dishes.
