Madeline walked through long corridor as she thought to herself if only asking for a change of clothes would be this hard how would she then ask for food as she was really hungry, at that moment her stomach grumble loudly.
A sudden low chuckle was heard coming from a good looking fellow in front of her "are you hungry" the young boy who looks slightly older than her asked as stood in front of her.
"Umm, yes I'm a little hungry" Madeline replied in an embarrassed voice as she didn't expect anyone to have heard the grumbling of her stomach she thought as she subconsciously wrapped her hand around stomach.
"I don't think I have seen you here before, are you new to this place" the young fellow asked.
"Yes I just came here today" Madeline replied, "no wonder. that why you don't know the rules" he said. "What rules" Madeline asked curiously " well normally we all have our dinner at a specific time so if you miss it you will have to stay hungry for the whole night".
"Does that mean I will have to sleep on an empty stomach" Madeline said in a somewhat worried voice, "no you don't have to worr I can easily sneak you into the kitchen to get something" he said as he walked towards the direction of the kitchen.
After arriving at the kitchen he gave her the leftovers from the meal they had that evening. Madeline didn't like eating leftovers from people she didn't know but she was really hungry so she stuffed her face with the meal and after eating them she watched the dishes and then turned around to thank the boy that brought her here but found him staring at her.
"Is there something on my face" she asked as she subconsciously touched her face. "No it's nothing" he replied as he took a step forward.
"Anyways why don't we get to the introduction part, hi I'm Kelvin Hart and what is your name my lady" he said in a jokingly manner with a small smile on his face.
"I am Madeline Alfred, and thank you for your assistance earlier" she replied as felt really grateful for his help.
"Madeline, what a nice you got there and no problem I don't mind helping a beautiful girl like you" he replied with a light chuckle.
Madeline also laughed along with him as she thought he was joking but if only she knew that he meant every single word he said he wondered how shocked she would be.
"Are you also knew here" Madeline asked as they walked through the corridor towards the women slaves quarters with Kevin escorting her back as he said he was worried that she would get lost as every corridor looked similar to the other while in reality he just wanted to spend more time with her.
"No, I have been here since I was a child, but my case is different as my mother works here as the head cook" he said as he stopped in front of Madeline's room.
"Ohh so you must be very family with the palace" Madeline said as they stood in front of her room. "Yes I am" he replied.
," So then we should call it a night and thank you again for helping me out because I'm sure I would have gotten lost without your help" Madeline said with a sincere heart "sure and can you stop apologizing, friends don't say sorry to friends".
After hearing the word friends, Madeline couldn't help but miss her best friend Kiara as she wondered if they would meet each other at this place.
"Are you ok" Kelvin asked as he sounded slightly worried. "yes I'm fine was just lost in thought" Madeline replied after coming back to the present.
"Ok then, good night, and I hope I will see you again tomorrow" Kelvin said with a light smile on his face.
"Sure good night" Madeline said as she walked into her room. Oops she forgot about the change of clothes, she thought of going out but changed her mind as it was already so late and Kelvin had already gone so who would help her If she got lost she thought about asking Gianna for help but realized she was fast asleep so she aborted the plan and lay down on her bed as she slowly drifted into an unconscious state.
