Chapter 29 - Return to Normal Life?

In the living room, Aiden sat awkwardly in a chair while Jessica sat casually in his arms. Aiden tried several times to put her in a chair beside him, but he was unsuccessful.

After a few pushes, he gave up, but he was even more nervous.

In front of him, in addition to his parents, there was a middle-aged man who looked to be in his forties. He was about two meters tall and had a big beard. The muscles on his body bulged his clothes. At a glance, he was not someone to be trifled with.

There was only one reason that Aiden was so afraid of this man: Jessica was his daughter.

To put it in another perspective. If your good daughter only wants to marry the neighbor's brat, what would you think as a father?

It could be said that Aiden was blessed by the heavens to be able to leave the farm alive. When he was young, he had been beaten up by Uncle Grimm many times. Even though he now knew the truth of the world, he still had a fear that surpassed that of a beast in front of him.

"Hmph, I haven't seen you for a long time. You've grown up a lot." Uncle Grimm snorted coldly, not that he cared. He just kept staring at the little bastard holding his daughter. No matter how he looked at it, he didn't like it.

"Hehe, it's… it's alright."

Aiden stammered a reply. At this moment, he would rather fight a vicious beast than sit here.

Fortunately, Uncle Grimm had no intention of bickering with him. He turned around and chatted with his parents.

Aiden breathed a sigh of relief as Jessica snuggled in his arms like a kitten. Rolling his eyes, he whispered in his ear, "Jessica, I'll take you out to play, okay?"

The little girl was naturally very happy and nodded repeatedly.

Aiden heaved a sigh of relief. He immediately stood up and smiled at the three adults. "Dad, Mom, Uncle Grimm, I'll take Jessica out for a walk."

"Go on, go on." Uncle Grimm waved his hand. There was nothing he could do to stop it. He might as well not see the brat.

With Uncle Grimm's approval, Aiden immediately pulled Jessica out of the house.

As he walked on the street, Aiden let out a long breath. Just now was like meeting a girlfriend's parents for the first time. He really didn't want to experience it again.

"Where are we going to play, Brother Aiden?" Jessica was very happy and spun around Aiden like a beautiful butterfly.

Where should I go to play…

To be honest, Aiden hadn't thought about it himself. The only reason he suggested that was to escape the awkward atmosphere just now. When he saw her doubtful gaze, Aiden quickly thought of something and smiled. "Where does Jessica want to go?"

"Me?" Jessica raised her head and thought carefully for a while before gently clapping her hands.

"I got it!"

She smiled at Aiden. "Brother Aiden, take me to your school. I want to go to that university in the future."

"School?"

Aiden was stunned, but he didn't refuse.

Aiden led the little girl to his school. Along the way, he looked at the crowd on the street and the downtrodden vagrants sitting under street lamps. Looking at this familiar and yet unfamiliar world, Aiden couldn't help but feel a little emotional. What kind of existence was a vicious beast?

Why did they act like humans so proudly? Was it just to find that one human among ten thousand beasts and tear him apart to eat him?

If that was the case, why didn't they just shapeshift as a group? Wouldn't it be clear who was human and who was a ferocious beast?

Or were they unable to do so because of the Fool?

Shaking his head, Aiden stopped thinking about these unanswered questions. In fact, even Professor Martin might not have an answer to this question, so why should he dwell on it?

Along the way, Jessica was curious about everything. In less than ten minutes, she had all kinds of snacks in her hands, and her mouth was oily from eating.

"Be careful of the little fatty." Aiden smiled and wiped her mouth with a tissue.

"No way." Jessica wrinkled her nose and mumbled. Suddenly, her eyes lit up and she pointed ahead. "Look! Brother Eddie!"

'Eddie?'

Aiden was stunned. He looked up, and his expression turned ugly.

"That idiot!"

A sexy sports car was parked in front of the school. Who else could it be but that idiot Eddie?

At this moment, he was arguing with his mentor.

Aiden stepped forward with a dark expression.

When he was closer, he heard their conversation.

"I don't want to go to school anymore, Professor! Give me my diploma!" Eddie shouted.

"This, this is against the rules. Eddie, stop fooling around." The counselor was in a difficult position. The other party was a rich second-generation heir after all, so he did not dare to speak too harshly.

"I don't care! You have to give it to me today! Let me tell you, I'm the chosen one! I…"

Eddie wanted to say something, but when he saw Aiden walking towards him, he immediately smiled and waved his hand. "Brother!"

Jessica waved. "Brother Eddie."

"Well, if it isn't Jessica," Eddie said, looking pleasantly surprised. He crouched down and reached out to pinch the little girl's nose.

The latter immediately stepped back and said seriously, "Brother Eddie, I'm not a child anymore. I'm going to be Brother Aiden's wife in the future. I can't touch you."

"What?" Stunned, Eddie glanced from Aiden to Jessica. His mouth opened, and a strange gurgling sound came from his throat, as if something had caught it.

Three seconds later.

"F*ck!! Aiden, are you still f*cking human? You won't even leave such a young child alone?! You just f*cking booked a room with Sophia, and you're here to abduct a young girl today?…"

Eddie howled like a pig being slaughtered. The surrounding people immediately looked over. When they saw the cute Jessica beside Aiden, they all looked at Aiden with disdain.

"How perverted!"

"That's right. What a cute little girl."

"Why don't we call the police?"

Aiden was so embarrassed that his toes were clenched. He couldn't care less about anything else. He stepped forward and kicked Eddie in the butt, pulling him away quickly while he screamed.

Along the way, Aiden was filled with regret.

Sophia was right. He should kill this bastard as soon as possible. Otherwise, something big would happen sooner or later!

The three of them walked out of the school gate. Aiden controlled Eddie and smiled at Jessica. "Jessica, go play by the side first. I have something to say to your brother Eddie."

He wanted to send the little girl away, but Jessica was pouting at this moment. Her big eyes were filled with tears, and she shook her head vigorously when she heard this.

"I don't want to!"

Aiden was at a loss. What was wrong with this little girl? Wasn't she fine just now?

Jessica glared at Aiden and said aggrievedly, "Brother Aiden, do you still like me?"

"I do. Of course, I do." Aiden nodded, but it was the affection of a brother and sister, not a man and a woman.

"Then what did Brother Eddie say just now about you going to a hotel with another woman?!"

Jessica questioned loudly. Bean-sized tears fell from her eyes.

So it was because of this.

Aiden took a deep breath and resisted the urge to beat Eddie to death. He kicked him away and hurried to Jessica's side, reaching out to hug her.

"Don't listen to Eddie. Why would I go to a hotel with someone?"

The little girl retreated warily and avoided his arm. She said with a serious expression, "Really? You're not lying to me?"

"Of course."

Aiden got up and kicked Eddie hard. "Eddie," he said through gritted teeth, "I didn't go to a hotel with anyone, did I?"

Eddie was about to shake his head, but when he saw Aiden's man-eating gaze, he shook his head timidly. "No."

At least you know what's good for you!

Aiden glared at him, then turned to smile at Jessica. "See, I told you he was talking nonsense."

Only then did the little girl's expression relax. She threw herself into Aiden's arms and secretly wiped her tears.

"I knew it. Brother Aiden is the best… Brother Eddie is so bad!"

"That's right! He's so bad!" Aiden agreed and helped her wipe away her tears. When she calmed down, he said gently, "Jessica, go walk around first. I'll help you teach this fool a lesson, okay?"

"Yes!" Jessica nodded heavily and waved her small fists. "Beat him up!"

"Hehe, alright!" Aiden gently pinched her chubby little face and agreed immediately.

Even if Jessica didn't say anything, it would be hard for him to vent his anger if he didn't beat up Eddie today!
