Chapter 35 - Rangi 08

Sentient Weapons are also sometimes just called relics. They were something that was numerous in number throughout the world however there was a law and/or right that guaranteed. Everyone and anyone could just get their hands on one without much issue or trying. They were sold at various markets place nor were their entire shop or gather where they were on display for purchase or just to see. They were weapons after all and could be capable of mass destruction and harm if they were in the wrong hands thus there were various rules and limitations on who could use them and how they were able to get their hands on one.

However, what does this have to do with Rangi though. Being raised in isolated the village of Malbury Point at the back of a deadly forest. There were no sentient weapons there nor did any of the people that lived there know of their existence either. Rangi had no expectations as he was completely unaware of them until he started traveling around the world outside his hometown and the forest. Thus the norms and customs that were so rooted in the society where sentient weapons were numerous enough that their existence could not be hidden and well managed as well regulated to prevent disaster involving them became commonplace. It was considered normal that sentient weapons do not require clothing as they are not human merely having a humanoid form thus modesty is not an issue.

For Rangi, though it was a different story as he was annoyed they were naked as to him they were human enough. That alone sparked his desire to not have them just roaming around him naked like this when in their humanoid forms. Glad that despite everything he had been through lately with:

learning his village was no more

getting attacked by someone possibly related to his village being attacked

Discover these two sentient weapons.

Managed to get away from his attacker

Rummaging this his bag he was looking for something for the two of them to wear. Again unaware of the social norm that sentient weapons don't require clothing as they are not human and worrying about modesty thus does not apply to them. It did to Rangi as he handed over something for them to wear.

"Wear this," he tells them.

"Understood, owner," the two say together.

However, he noticed that they attempted to 'wear' it on their gauntlet hands.

'Are they seriously trying to equip it or something to that hand of theirs' he thought curiously.

"Give it back as I guess I show you how to use it to cover yourself up" he sighed.

Rangi was shocked however when the two instead produced cloaks that did a well enough job as merely simple full body cloaks that had a hood so that their faces could be covered up as well.

"Guess that this is good enough for now," Rangi said.

"This one is glad that owner's expectations have been met with this action," they said in unison.

"Stop that" he then tells them.

The two then looked at him confused.

"Owner is there something the matter" the two girls stated

"Neither one of you has a name that I can call you to do you," he said

"This one is a gauntlet" they both replied.

"I am aware of that but what do I call the two of you," he asked.

"A gauntlet" they both replied again.

.

This went on for a while until Rangi getting tired of this back and forth that the three of them were having at the moment. He stopped trying to get them to understand him his original way. Instead he was changing up his tactics and placed a one hand on each of their shoulders.

"You are now Gau Rangi says pointing at the one with a gauntlet for their right hand "While you are now Let," he told them pointing at the other one with a gauntlet for her left hand.

"We are Gau and Let," they said together.

"Now on to the next issue I have with the two of you" Rangi informs them.

"I am Gau," Gau said

"I am Let" Let said shortly afterward.

"That right and when I call your name what are you to do, Gau," Rangi asked.

"Only Gau is to speak while Let does not" she answered.

Rangi was pleased with the result as having them both speak at the same time was kind of unnerving as well as a bit creepy as well. Not run away from them as fast as he could for either but enough that it would get to him over time if they kept doing it. Everything they said sounded like it was in stereo with both of them saying it in complete unison as well. He did not know or care if this was considered normal. It was not for him so he was not going to stand for it thus he gave the two of them his first order as their owner. As until he was not giving them any orders or commands just merely talking with them normally.

"Now if you two understand what I just told you that considered my first order as your owner"

"Do you understand that, Gau" he asked.

"Gau understands" she answered.

"Do you understand, Let" he then asked her

"Let understands" Let replies.

Rangi at this time is unaware that his decision to do this is what will in the end spare the now dubbed Gau and Let from suffering the fate that normally befalls all dual type sentient weapons. There are many of these fates that would only see them acting as one mind with two bodies going further and further down this direction until they reach one of the many endpoints that were typical of their kind. What Gau and Let would become themselves as a result of Rangi's action just now is the complete opposite of what would be one of the more traditional fates Gau and Let would been gone through if anyone other than Rangi was their owner and more importantly their very first owner at that. Given there was a reason they were forgotten in that area he accidently found them in.
