Arrows flew by his groups all the time as they marched. Some of them even stuck between his allies' ribs, and some of them immediately crushed the head of the charging skeleton.
Some hit Kivas but it ended up absorbed and digested by the extreme heat of his digestive system.
With some of the paladin skeletons holding off more than then armored soldiers, the skeleton miners who had just arrived charged forward into the enemy battalion with the cost of their lives. In the hope that their thrown pickaxes latched onto the body of their enemies.
With Kivas and the skelebro rendezvoused with the frontline, both of them joined the fight. Kivas had no remorse whatsoever to kill the opposing threat that was within the illumination of his torch by incinerating them with his flame.
'So humans exist in this world. Well, I bet that they won't be called human in this world' He then glanced at the falling dead body of the enemies. 'There are also those with dark skin and horns within their ranks. Ah, the other one has long ears too! What's going on??'
Amidst the confusion, Kivas already had a clear idea on whose side he was on. So without much remorse, he used his fangs and claws to leap onto the armored enemies, melting off their armor and their flesh.
'Pwueh! These flesh taste awful!' Kivas spewed out every chunk of meat that hadn't been digested by his stomach furnace. 'Well, I'm not really a cannibal if I'm not even human anymore right?'
Because of his limited perception, he couldn't really make up the scale size of the foe's army. After noticing that some of the paladin skeleton and the ogre skeleton were not in sight, Kivas rushed towards his skelebro who had just downed three enemies in three versus one fight.
'Did they really say that these skeletons are weak!??'
One of the enemy vanguard tried to ambush on the skelebro, Kivas then immediately accumulated a lot of heat within one of his canine heads and blast off a concentration of flame akin to a deadly ray.
'Skelebro! Where is your mistress at!?'
The skelebro clacked and both of them came up with the same idea. He then notified the nearby skeleton to hold the enemies at bay while he and the three-headed beasts shall go to the mine where the mistress was.
To the Tomb of Relics.
Kivas remembered the crude layout of the mine so he didn't really need to follow behind the skelebro. Both of them rushed at the same place, the same way of thinking, and the same motivation.
Just like they deduced, there was a fight happening within the mine. Some of the enemy soldiers and archers have saturated the cave with their numbers. Leaping up and forward, Kivas helped some of the skeletons in the way by hurling a flaming ball of breath at the enemies.
The level of flaming breath that he administer was not enough to melt the full plated steel armor, but enough to heat up the entire thing and make the wearer living in hell.
'There are much more soldiers here than outside.'
Kivas then noticed the ogre skeleton shoulding a mass of wood on his skeletal shoulder. Every swings he made was devastating, as if Kivas had witnessed the arrival fight of a ground infantry against an armored vehicle with a heavy tank.
But much to the way of combating an armored fighting vehicle, the ground infantry must need a firepower equal to an anti-tank weapon.
Just before Kivas could stop it, one of the enemy soldiers pulled out a wooden tube container with an unknown mixture of chemicals dripping down from the lid.
They squashed the center part of the container, making a fair bit of luminescent smoke escape from the inside. The soldier then shouted something to make their ally stay out of the way, before hurling the mysterious container onto the giant stature of the ogre skeleton.
At the same time, Kivas hurled a fireball from his left canine head, aiming at the estimated projectile of the thrown container.
But that won't do, so he thought. So instead of hurling a destructive fireball, he hurled a propelling flame with more gas and less volatile substance.
The fireball hit the left shoulder of the ogre skeleton, urging him to duck sideways and staydown, letting the container pass by and hit the wall behind.
As the container made contact, it dispersed into a spiraling, orbiting dark fires. It was sprayed at every direction within 1 meters before turning back and converging at the hit contact location. The sound of splitting air could be heard. A second later, the dark matter formed a drilling spiral before exploding three seconds later.
'That is overkill!!'
Not only was the hand-grenade-thing destructive, but it was also precise and focused, leaving an accurate trail of destruction. If one would compare the efficiency with the one on earth, it would be akin to Hellfire Missile, AKA the Ninja Missile that cut its target with protruding blades on all sides instead of blowing its target up.
'No wonder why they weren't afraid to use it inside the mine…'
While the ceiling was surprisingly high to the point that Kivas' torch couldn't illuminate the surface above until hitting the 6 meter range of perception radius, it shouldn't be the kind of place where one could carelessly throw a grenade-like weapon.
Knowing that his second life had just been saved, the ogre skeleton did a quick ground swipe with the wood on his right hand. One of the soldiers tried to do the same trick, and the ogre skeleton immediately ripped the bone on his ribs and throw it at the aforementioned soldier, impaling them with calcium.
Without further ado, Kivas continued to rush toward the Tomb of Relic with the skelebro.
'I didn't see any of those grenades being used on the frontline. If my intuition is correct, then they have surely assigned an elite to go further into the mine!'
