Chapter 72 - The test

The representative of the imperial clan stood up and asked: "Could we see the test the youths need to pass right now? We could act as the trainers to see what you prepared for the kids."

Max gave it a thought and nodded. "No problem. But you still need to pay."

The faces of the nobles twitched but they nodded. Soon the nobles got to get their young representatives. When Max saw Albert he said with a sneer: "Your excellency, how can you study something from a commoner? It is unbefitting of you."

The kid was clearly embarrassed. When he saw the face of his elder, he greeted: "Hello, senior teacher Max."

"Don't worry brat. You will get a harsh lesson. I will tell you that. Rey passed this test. So don't cry that it is too hard. It is right for all of you." Max said and looked at the prince of this country.

The kid had a contorted expression. He went to cry to his emperial father about this teacher with the reason to punish or even kill this commoner, but his father send him here to pass this test. From the look of the king prince Jake could not say anything. Soon The group arrived to the gaming club. After getting a huge amount of gold coins Max got all those 5 kids and 5 elders to the gaming capsules. After that he closed the gaming club and went into his room to enter the simulation as well. During the walk Max talked with the system so nobles will not get anything except the fighting mode with a level one bot with a swordmanship skill added to it.

When the nobles entered the simulation they were at a loss. Max used his admin status to bring them all to one space. Max decided on a grass field. When all nobles got teleported to one place they were startled.

The imperial family representetive wanted to ask something but Max halted him.

"Alright. I know you have a lot of questions. I will explain all I need and if you still have questions then ask. Alright?" Max said.

After the confused nobles nodded Max said: "Let me give you a short explanation. This is a complex spell that only I know how to use. In this space you cannot die. That means you can fight to the limits of your powers. Here let me show you. This is something you deserve, your excellency." After that Max teleported to Albert and pushed Albert to the direction of the sky. Albert flew to a height of around 50 meters and Max shot a fireball at him and evaporated him.

There was a long silence. Soon Albert respawned. Max smiled: "How does it feels to die brat?"

Albert touched his face and body. "I'm alive! I'm alive!" The kid screamed with happiness. After his elder asked him a few questions to make sure it was indeed Albert he turned to Max and asked with a grim face: "What is the meaning of this, senior teacher Max?"

Max smiled again and said: "You can die unlimited amount of times here. You will just spawn after a few seconds. The test for those brats is easy. They need to kill their clone that has their exact powers but have swordsmanship skills. There are 10 difficulty levels of this sparring mode. They need to defeat the weakest one. level one bot."

After that Max explained the nobles how to pick weapons.

The nobles asked for demonstration. Max sighed and than nodded: "Albert come here. Don't worry I wont kill you anymore. Your copy will. So you will see how useless you are."

Max did not even tried to hide his contempt.

After looking at his elder and given an approving node Albert headed to Max. Soon copy of him appeared 10 meters away from him.

Max said: "You need just to kill your copy once by yourself with no outside help. That's all. Give it a try. Also, one more thing. If the kids lose, they need to be killed by the bot. You cannot save them. It is part of their training. Rey trained in the same way. He died huge number of times. Same thing for me."

The nobles wanted to decline but when they heard that even Max trained like that they agreed.

"Start." Max said.

Albert rushed towards his copy with a sword and tried to hack it into half. The copy did not do anything fancy. It move back and when Albert lost his coordination for a moment after the hit. The bot did not miss this mistake of the youth and after the step back it stepped forward and cut Alber's hands and with a move after that his head. Albert lost in two moves. Some could say that even with one.

"..."

After Albert respawned he asked with bewilderment: "Is this even possible to pass? Is this thing really has my power level?"

Max smiled and said: "It is but you will need to minimize your mistakes and move right. All the rest of the students get to study the swordsmanship skills from the copy, but because you have nothing to study from a commoner you have your instructors. Each hour at the outside world is 15 days over here. So I think the price is still worth the cost. If each of you want to fight the copy you can just with for it in your head and it will appear. You better to catch some distance. I make it possible for the elder and the noble kids to come back to another space separate from all others or come back all together into one place. It is up to you. You just need to wish for it. You don't need to sleep here. The system is feeding your body so don't worry about food as well. The important thing to me that if any of the brats lost a fight against the bot they need to die. Do you have any more questions?"

The nobles did not even know what to say. After a moment of waiting Max said: "Than I will leave you to give it a try. Do not think you will be able to do it quickly. If you really try you will succeed. It is really hard, but it is possible. Good luck."

Before the nobles could say anything more Max just left. There was a long and tense silence. After his death Albert got heated up and started to fight the bot like a maniac. His best result was being able to defend one hit that went down his blade to cut off his fingers with the hilt of the sword and with Albert screaming in agony cutting his head off. The other elders watched this with grim faces. The youths were scared. What kind of challenge was it?
