Chapter 73 - Days before the start of the academy part 1

All the nobles stood for a while and then started to fight the level one bots. The scene was pretty tragic. There were occasional wails of people that got killed or got their fingers or legs cut of before death. Generally after a really long time the most those elders could handle was around 3 or 4 hits before they were sent to re spawn. Soon the fifteen days of the simulation ended and all nobles got out with really grim faces. It was a task for the kids but even the elders with the battle experience of then of years died in a couple of moves most of the time.

When the representative of the royal family saw Max after exiting he asked: "Is it really possible to win this copy?"

Max said with a smile: "It is possible but it is not easy. I can tell that Rey wins over the first level bot most of the times. I win the level six bot most of the times. All levels before that are easy for me. I can tell you for sure that I don't try to cheat in any way. The only thing that you don't get is the swordsmanship skills that the other kids learn. This is my punishment for what Albert said. The kids will need a lot of time to do it but it is possible."

The royal representative sighed. After a short chat of the nobles with Max they all left dejected. In the same day Max told Valeria to get Drake to come.

When the kid came it was already evening. The weather was very good. There were multiple stars on the sky. The air was refreshing and the temperature was just right to walk with a shirt and feel comfortable.

The kid came over and greeted Max. Max nodded and said: "As class monitor and a kid with some brain matter I will invest a little bit in you. You have a 6 days until the beginning of the academic year. Each evening you will come over and train in the capsule for 8 hours. The system will explain it to you but in short each hour is 15 days in the simulation. You can die unlimited amount of times in there. You have a simple goal. Your minimum goal is to defeat the level one bot or level one copy of you. Of course, you will have to study the swordsmanship skills from your copy first. You get all the information from the system. Don't worry about food and sleep in the simulation you do not need them. You just need to train. The moment you beat you copy I will give you a reward. I will tell you even what it is so you will try harder. First after you win the bot you will get a set of knight skills to learn. Also you will get the ability to advance to a level of a knight apprentice and earn money. So do your best. Don't slack off. Every hour that you spend as a unranked entity I pay 1 silver coin. When you get to the level of knight apprentice I will pay 10 silver coins per hour. I'm ready to invest in you if you really try your best. This is a chance to start the academy year as a knight apprentice with a real fighting skills. All the rest of the kids will also get some time in the simulation but it will be way less. If I not be happy with your performance I will remove this privilege from you."

Drake did not get all the points but he knew that he could not pay for this for sure. Also he knew that the swordsmanship and knight skills and the ability to advance to knight apprentice as someone with no talent to cultivate life energy was something he most likely will not be able to get from any other place.

Drake demeanor changed. It was just a walking resolution to success. The kid was driven really hard to get the job done. He wanted this senior to be impressed. He will do everything for it.

After Drake entered the simulation Max, Valeria and Derek also went to do their own things for the night. Max and Valeria were also in the simulation and Derek got only for one hour and than went to sleep.

During the night Max kept an eye on the kid. This kid was a monster. He learned the swordsmanship skills techniques in a very short time. I took a month for Max to see that Derek was really moving right. After that Drake started to fight his copy like crazy. The first month was pretty usual for everyone. He died in a lot of different ways. After around a month Max started to see that the kid was getting his strategy right. Drake started to get his copy injured in different ways. It took Drake another half a month until he got the first kill on the bot. Only two in a half months and he done it. It took Rey years. It was insanity. This kid was a prodigy. Max did not really saw the kid resting. When Drake trained and got really tired he always summoned the bot to kill himself. When he would re spawn he was fresh and just continued his training. Max was surprised to see this little loophole that could spare you time. Time was everything. The kid used it really well. After Drake succeeded he jumped and danced for some time. It was a great achievement. He did not know if he did well or not. After a little bit of resting he continued. Generally he still died most of the time but about 1 of ten tries he won the bot. When the kid got a little more consistent Max came to him in the simulation and said: "For this session just continue fighting the bot. You should get used winning him at least most of the time to get to the next stage. At your session tomorrow I will give you the rewards. You need more practice now. You are still not ready. Alright?"

Drake nodded. He just listened to Max. He already saw that he got so much stronger. He would destroy the previous Drake before he got into the simulation easily. It would not be even close.

When Max finished saying what he wanted he just vanished. Drake got the point the his teacher could look after him from behind the scenes and because of that he did not slack off. When Drake finished the first night of simulations he won his copy pretty consistently. He was satisfied.
