Chapter 11 - Continue the trip

In the morning of the next day Max woke up pretty late. He was training in the simulation too. He felt like he was lacking in big aerial attacks. After his interaction with the robbers in the village he was looking for skills to blast a large amount of people at once. He was not invincible and could die if strong warriors and mages overwhelmed him with numbers.

He picked up two skills:

-Pyroblast.

-Earth Explosion.

Pyroblast was a skill that shot a big fireball and then exploded when the caster wishes for it.

Earth explosion uses that same method as pyroblast just with the earth element.

Max first started with the pyroblast skill and got stuck at the part of the explosion. It was easy to shoot the fireball because he did know the skill called fireball, but the explosion part was a problem. After trying for 4 months at the simulation (8 hours in the real world) he still did not master the skill. Of course, he did his usual archery practice and his PvP sessions with the sixth level bot. He did not make any progress in that ither. It left a sour taste in his mouth, and he was pretty grumpy. When he got down from his room, he saw Derek already awake.

"Good morning, boss Max." Derek said.

"Morning." Max replied.

"Thank you so much for letting me use this thing, Sir." Derek said with a humble tone.

He learned so much in this half a month that he was sure that if he fought the old Derek from before the simulation teachings, he would win with no much problems.

"Well, I saw how you fought there for a short time because I have the admin rights and it was bad. You have a long way to go. It is up to you how much you could learn in the time we travel together. I'm just letting you know that if you don't win the level one bot, I will not open the archery skills for you to study. It will be a waste on your part." Max said.

Derek thought for some time and said: "Is it really possible for me to win my copy? And what is an admin?"

Max facepalmed. After he failed to accomplish what he wanted he was not happy generally. Derek with his stupid questions added to the fire and because of that Max snapped: "Don't ask me stupid questions! It is impossible to win this copy of yours if you are a retard! Let's go eat and then continue our journey."

Derek faltered for a moment and then nodded. He got the general vibe of "do not disturb" from Max and that there is no point asking this young man in front of him any unnecessary questions. It will just backfire on him. With the power of this boss Max, he could be roasted alive, and he did not want that to happen.

Derek picked a stake with chips this time. He did not take the beer because he wanted to save money. He had a few silver coins, but he wanted to spend them on the simulation when his employment will end. He understood that he will have limited amount of time to study before other people will see the value this strange rounded blue things that surrounded him represented. He still did not remember the name of this strange blue rounded stuff with the seat inside. He did not want to speak with Max because he saw that the boss was not in the right mood. He promised to himself that he will ask this mysterious man more questions when he see the right opportunity.

After finishing the breakfast meal Derek felt over the moon. He still did not believe such food existed. Max also felt his mood lift up because of the meal. He ate the same thing as Derek but also drank a lot of different types of juices.

After that they departed. Derek still did not understand how this huge building disappeared like it did not even exist at this world.

The duo continued their journey together. Max did not want to enter any villages or small towns now. He did not have good impression of places like that anymore. He was not sure he would be able to hold himself back and not blast those people with the skills he possessed. He informed Derek of his wished and the latter complied.

The duo continued in the same phase for a week. In that time Derek continued to study swordsmanship and fight the level one bot. It did not go really well. He felt that he got much better at everything that was connected to fighting. Still, he could not defeat his copy. He understood with his head that this guy that was killing him every time had the same power level, speed and every other parameter. Still, this understanding did not help him at all. He was starting to feel frustrated.

At the eight day he woke up and saw Max walking down with a beaming expression. It was not something usual for this person. Derek got used to the grumpy young man. Sometimes he thought he talked to some elder. Max was very happy because he finally mastered the skill pyroblast. He could now blast big amounts of people and if they are below the grand knight level, they most likely will explode to pieces or be turned to shreds because of the explosion. Of course, it also depended on the fact of the location the foes he will face. If someone will be more then 10 meters from centre of the blast, he or she will be able to defend themselves if they are on a level of a knight or a mage apprentice. If it will be a knight apprentice, then it will end in an injury for sure. The skills of pyroblast and earth explosion were mage level skills. He did not study skills that are on the high mage level because of the complexity and because of the fact that he could not use it without the gaming club nearby because of his drop in level. Only near the gaming club his power levels go up to the high mage and grand knight levels. If he will go more than five meters away from the building the buff will not work anymore, and he will drop to his real level of a knight and a mage. He wanted to be self-sufficient without any help.

Derek saw the opportunity for himself and said: "Good morning boss Max. Can you please give me some advice on how I can increase the chance win my copy? I feel like I'm making progress, but it doesn't help me."

Max was in a good mood, so he answered: "You try to fight this bot head on using the skills you learned but not using your head. Try to read the movement of the bot. Try to be the one that counterattacks. Try to be unpredictable. It is really easy. Until you don't use a little of your brain power you will lose. Also, you must master all the swordsmanship abilities to perfection before attempting to win."
