Chapter 23 - A VIP Job (part 9)

Disclaimer- MC has been saying his alias in korean but he said Zeronn in english.

"Zeronn? English?" one of the guys with a brown coat said in a bit crude english.

Gyun switched to the english he learned in Avalon, though a native speaker wouldn't be able to place his accent, it had similarities in it's simplicity with an American english accent so it would fool this group who probably only had a basic understanding.

"Yes I'm from New York in the States, I came to see Jiyu and make some connections with her father since my family is thinking of expanding here." he said in the most American accent he could imitate in english, which ending up sounding more Australian than anything but no one could really tell the difference.

Jiyu gave him the weirdest look but Gyun ignored it, acting as if he was surprised no one spoke english when everybody looked to be trying to understand what he just said.

Gyun stood up, to switch to Korean with an accent which was easy enough there was an exchange student from the States. Gyun had heard him speak a few times and was confident he could pull off an American accent in Korean.

"But you don't sound American? It sounds different?" a girl who was wearing a famous brands blazer and bangs spoke in clear english with a slight accent that sounded British , -What she even spoke with some slang?! Ah shit yeah these people are rich, I forgot that boarding schools exist.-

Gyun faked a chuckle, replying in english "it's the boarding school in the french alps your hearing. After a few years it affects the way you speak, though I never learned french I think the accent got to me eventually but I like it." Gyun made up an excuse that sounded plausible and replied with the smoothest english in the most American accent possible.

-Shit I've got to switch to Korean I only lived in Avalon for a year and half, thank Wodric for insisting I study english it saved me a lot-. Gyun recalled before switching to Korean speaking with his accent and intentionally stumbling and messing up on a few words.

"We can use Korean of you want? I've been taught for one year by mom who was live here" before the girl could respond.

The others who no longer we're struggling to keep up with the conversation jumped in.

"ah the American speaks Korean why didn't start with that?"

"It's got some flaws but at least its coherent."

"He's pretty tall and his voice is sexy too, Jiyu he isn't your boyfriend is he?"

Jiyu got flustered, "n-no! tell them what you do again Zeronn in Korean this time!"

-thankfully it looks like the dogs are off me, though that girl doesn't look quite convinced- Gyun thought as he repeated what he said before but in a somewhat flawed Korean while maintaining a American accent.

As they went around to different stores, the guys ended up carrying 90% of the bags despite there being 2 suited bodyguards who kept a distance of 50 feet away as the group had there fun. Gyun had no idea which person in the group they were from, as they opened up after some time Gyun had began to understand their backgrounds and the fact that everybody was older then him by 2 years.

The girl who was suspicious of Gyun was Suhyeon Kim in the gray blazer with the bangs was the daughter of Kumiere corporation's founder and CEO , a shipping giant and one of the top 5 shipping companies in all of Asia. Both of the guys were twins, thankfully wearing different outfits, Donghe and Jungsu Soryung and were heirs to the Soryung group, a massive trading company based in Busan.

And the last 2 girls were from Japan, the first girl was extremely beautiful and the daughter of the chairman of a famous publishing group, the girl Himari Ito was also an up and coming singer and actress who was staying here for a few months to film a series. The last girl Sakura Ito was also from Japan although not as beautiful as Himari was still pretty and was the daughter of the minister of defense for Japan and seemed reserved.

Gyun noticed that everyone in the group was good looking with Himari and Jiyu being particularly beautiful. -Is it genetic? Or is it surgeries?- He shook his head, he had no idea.

-But damn what a rich friend group, with people this rich and powerful 2 bodyguards seem inadequate doesn't it?- Gyun followed them as they left the mall and went outside, Himari who spoke with a strong accent announced as everybody started getting in the limousine, "ok guys why don't we go to karaoke before we go to the party?"

"I'm fine with that"

"Sure!"

"Let's go"

"It better have a bar!"

"Oh hell yeah, lets get drunk!"

"Don't be an idiot!" Himari said smacking the head of one the Soryung brothers "we've got to go to that party tonight we can get wasted at the club! Besides I already found a good karaoke bar."

Gyun spoke up stopping at the door, "hey I rode my motorcycle, here wait here for a minute so I can got get it and follow behind you." Gyun noticed that there was another sedan behind with 2 more suited guards, Gyun noticed that their belts had tasers and what he guessed was an extendable baton.

Himari who seemed to be the one who owned the limousine looked at the bodyguards who nodded "we can wait 2 minutes."

Himari turned to Gyun, "you heard them we'll give you two minutes, better hurry, we won't wait."

Gyun handed Himari his bag he'd been carrying with his clothes, "I'm on a bike so hold these for me."

Gyun jogged to the underground parking lot, -that's more to be expected, so there is around 5 bodyguards maybe 6 if you count the limousine driver. But were they hired by Himari, you'd think a publishing company wouldn't be in charge of security.-

Gyun came back on his motorcycle with his helmet on, he drove behind the sedan and limousine and gave a short wave and a hand stuck out a thumbs up.

They started driving and Gyun followed, after 20 or so minutes, he realized they were driving towards Gangbuk, -this is pretty far for a karaoke isn't it?-

Gyun noticed the street they were on was in a middle to low class neighborhood, Gyun's hairs on the back of his neck. The instincts that helped him survive hundreds of battles and were honed and sharpened to perfection, were giving him warning signs, -this atmosphere is a bit tense, I don't like it-.

Gyun heard a car driving from his left, he turned to his side, a black suburban with tinted windows was driving full speed out of an alley and less then 10ft from him. "Fuck!" Gyun had enough time to jump a bit and get his legs up to avoid them from being crushed by the car as he was hit.

Gyun felt the impact even with his superhuman durability, he almost lost consciousness as he felt a few ribs break as he smashed into the windshield and rolled over it and landed on the concrete. Gyun noticed the sedan behind the limousine was also hit by another suburban who came out behind the suburban that hit Gyun.

Though his ears was ringing he could here doors open as the limousine passenger door opened with a bodyguard who had a calm expression and walked toward the suburban which hit Gyun. Both suburban's doors opened and Gyun saw many men in black clothes and masks got out wielding large knives, and passed by the bodyguard who got out of the limousine, and approached the sedan and opened the doors and screams arose.

-Shit! This is bad, it looks like a kidnapping, just my luck I got to get up!- Gyun tried to get up but the pain was intense in his side but his survival instincts took over as he shakily stood up.

"Hey Mr.Bodyguard is this guy important?" One of the men in black pointed at Gyun with a knife.

The Bodyguard who seemed to have betrayed everybody looked at Gyun, "I don't know him, he's a variable just get rid of him we need to secure the rest of the hostages and be out of here in the next 30 seconds."

"Hey fuck you! I don't take orders from anyone but hyung-nim"

"You're hyung-nim gave me leadership for this part you fucking imbecile!"

Gyun's vision was blurry and combined with the cracks in his motorcycle helmet's visor from the impact Gyun had no choice to take off his helmet. -Shit it's do or die, there's about 14 of them it's doable-. Gyun smashed the helmet into the ground picking up a sharp visor fragment.

"Hey are we going to kill each other or not?" Gyun took the only knife technique stance he knew, the Drifting Whisper assassin technique.

The bodyguard who had moved to the driver side of the limousine opened the door and a body fell out. "kill the punk and let's go"
