"Umm let's have one. It's been a while," Emery nodded as she looked at the source of the sound.
"Humph! What while? We haven't been able to communicate for whole 5 years. 5 years is too long of a time, Emery," the white deer scoffs looking at its partner.
"Hazel, I am sorry....." walking to Hazel, the white deer, who was laying by the sofa, Emery apologised.
She was truly sorry. She truly neglected her spirit animal for too long but did she have a choice?
While she couldn't control her conscious how could she have a connection to her spirit animal?
When she had control all she ever wanted was for her son to have some warmth and it was only possible through Hazel.
"I don't need your sorry. Just tell me the reason. I couldn't connect with you and when we can you would always want me to play with little Ian. Even during those times, we will lose connection in a few minutes. What happened to you in these last 5 years?" the white deer asked curiously.
The lack of connection with Emery had made it feel helpless and frustrated, to the point of almost going mad.
If not for the occasional call from Emery and play dates with little Ian, the white deer might have ceased to exist.
The connection between a person and their spirit animal must be consistently maintained, whether through spiritual or physical means.
Neglecting this connection could lead to the decline of the person's health while spirit animals could cease to exist.
"I don't know how it happened, but after giving birth to Ian, I woke up to find that I had lost control over my body. It was as if there was another presence in my consciousness, suppressing my own. It had a higher spiritual power than me." Emery's expression was pained as she remembered those days when she felt helpless about her condition.
"Another presence?...." the white deer was stunned.
The white deer had never heard of someone being able to take control of another's consciousness for so long.
Though it wasn't impossible too as there are many things in the universe beyond the understanding of simple creatures like them.
Hazel, the white deer, asked concernedly, "Do you know what their motive was? Why would they control you? Did you find anything unusual during the time you were controlled?" without waiting for a response from Emery.
"No, nothing. Though I wasn't able to control my body, I was able to perceive my surrounding clearly but even with that, I couldn't find what another presence in my consciousness wanted from me," Shaking her head Emery gave the negative answer.
It was the most mysterious and worst thing she had ever experienced and she hope... no, would make sure to never experience something like that ever again.
The feeling of someone else in your inner consciousness isn't good at all.
And it would be even worse when you can't control the other presence and instead would be suppressed by it in your own domain.
It was repulsive and sickening.
Unhappy with Emery's answer, the white deer insist she tries to remember carefully, "Think carefully...ah, didn't you get to have control of your body some minutes every now and often? Maybe in those times..... but in those times too you won't be able to leave the bed or would be by our side....."
The white deer sighs in frustration.
Hazel had thought it was able to find the link but it seems to be a dead end instead.
"Let's forget it. Since we can't figure it out then don't waste your thoughts on it. If we were destined to get to the bottom of this matter we would find the link," noticing, Hazel's frustration, Emery urged it to stop wasting its time on it.
Hazel felt anger surging inside it.
'Who was it being angry and worried for? This girl doesn't deserve it at all.'
"Why don't you worry? What if that thing tries to take control over you once again? Even if aren't worried about yourself at least, think about little Ian. Do you want him to suffer once again," Hazel looked dissatisfiedly at Emery's unconcern look.
Smiling at Hazel, Emery rubbed its neck soothingly trying to calm it down, "Relax, do you think I would be this relax if I didn't notice something?"
Emery asked looking at somewhat calm Hazel.
Tilting its head and with raised eyebrows, Hazel looked at Emery, "Spit it out."
"Ok ok, don't be grumpy," rubbing Hazel's white fur which was once brown like her name, Emery laughed.
"Why do you think that despite being suppressed by that entity I was able to perceive my surrounding clearly?" instead of answering, Emery asked the question to the white deer.
"Do you mean...."
"Yes, it wasn't powerful enough to completely suppress me. Since it wasn't that powerful enough to control me when my spiritual power was only B+, do you think it could suppress me when I have advanced to A+? It is impossible for it. And if my guess is right, it could only enter my consciousness when I am vulnerable and my defence is at my low, though it was only my guess," Emery analysed the situation.
"But what if it came again?" the white seer was still wary of the situation.
"Don't worry It won't," Emery smiled sweetly as she said with confirmation.
"Huh?" glimpsing at Hazel's confusion and worries, Emery gently patted it as she continued to reassure it.
"...And If it dares to come, then it should brace itself to die. Because of it, my son had to suffer. Didn't you see how repulsive and wary he was of me, it was all because of that entity who had neglected my son and suppressed me for so long. After being suppressed for so long, the one thing I had to learn was to preserve and be patient. It's never late to take revenge," Emery scoffed.
White deer eyes narrowed as it heard the assurance in Emery's voice when she said 'it won't come'.
"Are you hiding something from me?" the white deer asked looking dead in Emery's eyes.
