As the humans approached the Demon General, the monsters suddenly became stronger, causing the adventurers and knights to retreat with less value, providing only support or bombarding the enemy from behind with magic arrows and other throwing weapons.
The count and some barons now interfered more themselves and went to the front to lead their troops into the final battle. The Count was even a mage who threw huge fireballs and rains of fire at the opponents Baron William of Amber was a warrior responsible for the protection of the Count and there was also a Baron who was a priest and at the edge Mortis saw a familiar figure it was Jochen the Paladin.
Mortis thought he had been struck by lightning when he saw Jochen. "What is he doing here? Did he let him go on a trip because he knew I would arrive in Bayreuth when the battle began? Shit what am I going to do now that I've beaten up the Baron boy, Helga may be in danger. He'd better stay quiet and not say anything or he'll die." Said Mortis to himself in his mind.
Mortis remained in front while he gave the order to his troops to continue looting and to place the corpses in order of rank so that they could be indentified. The looted potions should now be passed forward except for the improvement potions which went to Mortis who distributed them all fairly except for the ones Helga could still use like stamina potions.
°Yes, that's how it is, barely 3 days separated from his wife, he got big balls, that's how it is when you are 16 years young and that's why he thought of her in only a few quiet moments.
Mortis threw his spirit scythe to create one vortex after the other to bind opponents to one place which was quickly registered by the others and so they threw their big spells on each vortex to blow as many as possible into pieces.
In the end only the general and 3 commanders were still alive and some people lost their lives, but the group of high nobles was still fit and ready to put an end to this battle.
The commanders died in seconds because they were hit by hundreds of weapons and spells, but the general was protected by something like a barrier that spread out when he was the last one, locking the Baron's group together with a few knights and the final battle began.
Mortis wanted to roar with rage after all he wanted to give the boss one to get some experience so he went into the spirit realm but again he couldn't get through so he got Sarah out to see if she could find a way to get through the barrier but she just looked at him confused she could just walk through." Shit now I know what is meant I should better deal with my own energy".
"Then I have no choice but to try a crash course." He held his hands on the barrier and took a lot of energy and mana and tried to break through the barrier but nothing happened. You're going about it the wrong way, you're not supposed to break through, you have to, no that's all I'm saying." Mortis would have loved to jump out of his skin but he quickly calmed down because anger can't solve his problem now so he thought about it but right away he couldn't think of anything. So he looked at Sarah penetratingly there the spark ignited she could through because she is a soul a spirit but also when he enters the spirit realm he was only encased by his energy and not really a spirit only at the retreat he took this shape for a short time so Mortis sat down and looked how he becomes a spirit and so he tried to transform his flesh into pure energy.
Mortis was still holding his hand against the barrier when he noticed how his right hand began to tingle. He opened his eyes and saw how his hand went through the barrier, but it was now ghost-like, even though Mortis expected it, he pulled it back in shock because he wasn't sure if he could return to his normal form. But as soon as his concentration was gone, his hand changed back to its original form.
Don't worry, you're on the right track if you're a ghost, of course you can return to your normal human form even if you don't like it very much.
So Mortis continued the exercise while everyone else watched the fight. He had strange feelings about adapting to the new form, on the one hand it gave him the feeling of endless freedom but also the feeling of free fall, he no longer felt the wind or smelled anything but his other senses were heightened.
Congratulations you have mastered your ghost form and can now freely switch back and forth from your human form to your ghost form. Ghost form costs you no mana as it is your new true nature, but switching to human form can be a little uncomfortable.
Mortis hovered over the ground and flew upwards and briefly looked at what he could do which surprised him that his scythe also changed to this form and he now really looked like a creepy ghost with a dark scythe. But when he realized that it was easy to handle the new body and to fly he flew behind the boss and changed the form again. His body itched unbearably and also hurt in some places, but when he was complete again, he was also really happy that it really worked.
Mortis was happy that he made it in time and the boss is not yet defeated, but he was already stumbling and bleeding in places. Mortis wanted to give only one hit and then go again, but since he saw that the boss was at the end, he could take it to give him the rest, after all, these are free exp.
Mortis ran towards the boss jumped up then used double jump landed on the shoulders of the boss then jumped up backwards used double jump again then yelled at Sarah who then held her hands under his feet and threw him further up then used double jump again when he already reached the barrier from above Mortis now used Falling Comet throwing the scythe from behind to the front then he started to turn and with a speed of sound he flew towards the boss like a silver black star pulling a silver comet tail behind him Mortis approached the boss.
The boss didn't notice Mortis at all, even Sarah kept slashing at the boss with her fingernails, but he didn't care, but the others were in shock at what this attack was and jumped back when they saw this black star approaching the boss. That was also their luck when Mortis hit the boss with the scythe, the ground was ripped open and the boss was knocked into two pieces and the legs and all the bones broke in the body of the general it was like he was really hit by a rock from space.
Everyone was amazed and wondered what happened until the dust cloud disappeared and they all saw the corpse of the boss that was cut into two halves. Suddenly the roar became loud and the cheers broke out. They won the battle and managed to live in peace for the next 20 years without being challenged again. Almost all rejoiced only Mortis not the staggered further away and vomited everything out what he has eaten the last few days because his stomach and mind could not process the turning like a circular saw and he was so black in front of his eyes and that his body stabilizes again and his blood circulation back to normal stand wanted to bring he puked without end.

The nobles were looking for Mortis because they saw him jumping on and off the boss and then this beautiful but disastrous scene. Baron Jochen and Baron William found him first and both wondered how he got into the barrier and when William recognized him he just laughed and said. It seems the boy is a real daredevil who shits on all the rules. Jochen looked a bit embarrassed and sad when Mortis raised his head and asked. Jochen what are you doing here? After that Mortis keeled over because he was pretty tired Jochen was able to catch him before Mortis took a nap in his own vomit.
William looked at Jochen and asked. Is he your illegitimate child or a knight of yours? What makes you think he is my son? Jochen asked. You were also a daredevil and a good warrior in your younger years until you were chosen by Luxia to become a paladin and I know that you only have 2 children with Fiora and your youngest unfortunately had to suffer a hard fate oh yes and actually this boy should be punished he beat up Falko quite badly but I think we just let that fall under the table because so the brat realizes that there is always one who is stronger no matter what class he may come from.
I thank you but now let's go to the count after all he owes us gold now not that he forgets it again. Said Jochen and laughed with William.
