The plush black and white themed restaurant area took up the whole floor, and it was as swanky and luxurious as she had expected. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice with a light piano melody playing overhead as she and Vincent chose their seats at a table that was right against the floor-to-ceiling windows that offered a magnificent view of the city below.
A waitress came over with their menus and silently placed them on the table with the white tablecloth, and Charlotte smiled in thanks as the woman walked away with a sway in her hips that made the outfit that she was wearing all the more inviting with the classy white button up and short black skirt that showed off her amazing legs.
Charlotte took a sip of her water cup that the waitress set up for them as well and brought it to her lips to hide the curious smile that hinted at the direction of the woman's blatant actions. She clearly knew how she was projecting with Charlotte literally sitting there right across from Vincent.
The water went down smoothly, hydrating her from the exhausting day when she didn't even get the chance to pause and rest, gathering her thoughts. Charlotte found it funny since Vincent was staring out of the glass instead before pulling out his phone to pound out a message with a frown on his face.
"What should I get?" Charlotte asked as she brought the menu up to her face.
"The dishes are all good," Vincent answered. "I would recommend a pasta dish."
"Hm, that does sound delicious."
"Something with carbs to fill you up."
Charlotte winked. "You're right. Pasta it is."
She skimmed the menu that was carefully and artistically made, and she was able to see the hard work and effort put into crafting such an aesthetic piece for customers to look at. Bitting down on her lips, Vincent's movement caught her attention, and she glanced up.
"What are you thinking about so deeply?" he asked.
Charlotte grinned. She must have been making her concentrating face, but otherwise, she didn't know. She whipped out the question that she was planning on asking later though since he had presented her the opportunity. "Are you paying?"
Vincent pulled out his wallet and placed his card down on the table. "You can take the tab if you wish?"
"Ah, I think I'm okay," Charlotte laughed. "I'll eat well today then."
"By all means."
The tall, blonde-haired waitress returned with a readied smile on her face, and she glanced at Vincent first. "What shall I serve for you, sir?"
"Spicy Pomodoro with the rack of lamb," Vincent answered.
The woman's straight and pearly white teeth came out, and Charlotte placed her chin in the palm of her hand while she watched the waitress's body demeanor change when it came to her. It was seriously all too funny, and Charlotte motioned with her hand that Vincent can continue what he was doing.
"And for you?"
Charlotte gathered the menus and aligned them together on the table with a quick tap before giving her answer. "Sweet corn agnolotti with brown butter and cream."
"Alright," the waitress said. "Any wine today?"
Charlotte glanced at Vincent, who subtly shook his head. Charlotte brought her hands together and mustered a bright smile. "No, thank you."
The waitress walked away without another word, and Charlotte covered her laugh with a cough which made Vincent's eyebrow go up. He placed his phone down on the table. "What's so funny?"
"That girl wants you bad."
Vincent shrugged. "It's not my problem."
Charlotte placed a hand over her stomach, now that hunger pains were settling in. "I was surprised that she didn't ask for your number here flat."
"I oversee all those who get hired, so I highly doubt that she would do so while on the clock."
Charlotte sent him a look. "Oh, so she would wait until after?"
"It's not my business what they choose to do outside of work. My job is to make sure that everything sells well."
Charlotte played with the napkin that was folded into a pretty flower. "Ah, I forgot that you own this building."
"This buisness, Charlotte."
"Yes, sir."
"Charlotte."
She corrected her words slowly. "Yes, Vincent."
"You're so polite today."
Charlotte narrowed her eyes at him. "What do you mean? I've always put my best out before you."
"Yes, especially in your cute ragged pajamas."
Charlotte cringed when she remembered back to when she met up with him a month back. "I should have tossed those, but I kept holding on to them."
"You're normally contemplating life every day."
"You're right. And how I got into this position daily."
Vincent sighed. "We can't go back and change time."
"I just find it so interesting now that there was a huge community of other people right under my nose."
"It does take time to adjust I'm sure."
