Chapter 29 - I Trust You

The night came even quicker than anticipated as the group's bodies were covered with shadows, this was the one day they didn't want to end like this but did they have a choice? on one side Alan and Shelby were given the duty to inform the master so they ravaged through the mist of a new land barely seeing anything. Alan was able to use his wind to remove some mist but it was very minimal as his energy was sapped by the skill he used at the residency.

on the other hand, Barry was barely making any progress as the new government deployed the other teachers to keep a lookout for Barry and the others, he moved along the shadows praying to save Hazel and the citizens but couldn't find the right plan to execute.

"How about we use your ice pillar ability to knock out some of the teachers and I will use my speed to rescue the citizens", stated Barry

"Not bad but I would like to add a thing to your plan", said Gabriel

[Ice Summoning: Ice Bear]

A cute and fluffy bear made from snow appeared before the brothers as it waited patiently for orders.

"This is my companion which can transport the citizens from harm to a safe place but it can take only 3 at a time," said Gabriel.

"That's handy, well we should start with the plan then, I hope Alan is doing okay," said Barry.

[On Alan's Side]

Alan kept moving not looking back once, he wasn't going to quit, he walked by a ton of unconscious bodies laying around the forest, and two conclusions came to his mind. Either they were also trying to explore the new land but were stopped by anonymous people or these people tried to stop the master from entering. It didn't matter he had to keep moving for the sake of his new home.

They both were barging through the mist when Shelby grabbed Alan by his collar to stop as she sensed something.

"Well well, that's some nice sensing from someone like you", said a man as another one followed behind him.'

They didn't have any official uniform which meant they were travelers or even someone working under someone, nevertheless, they were going to cause some problems here.

[User: Harry Coyle]

[Ability: Water Type]

Both of the brothers who stood against Alan and Shelby had a higher ground due to the environment being misty, but Alan and Shelby could also use this to their advantage.

"So you too were headed towards the land, you heartless monsters why won't you just leave us alone," said Eric while also charging at Alan.

Alan immediately released his aura and went head to head with Eric while Shelby was Fighting with Harry but it didn't match as two water types could deal no damage unless they release more heavy attack than the other.

Alan used his wind like a whip and matched with Eric who also used mist as his weapon. Clashes could be heard from far away as the battle raged on. Alan could tell that the opponent wasn't that strong so why did they bother to battle them was it to defend their land, or to gain information about them? whatever the reason was Alan wasn't sure of it.

Alan's eyes took the shape of half a moon as his strength stats were increased by +10 he cast a wind barrier around him and blindly charged towards Eric, Eric released a huge mist blast which was absorbed by Alan's barrier but still did damage to him.

''Is he Crazy!!!'', said Eric

Alan didn't stop and kept moving as finally made contact with Eric's body and sent him flying at a distance he collided with a tree and fell unconscious. Shelby took care of Harry as he was a weak water-type user. Together they were able to take care of the problem but Alan was heavily fatigued due to his previous and current use of abilities.

He rested on a tree catching his breath and noticing this Shelby came to him and handed him a recovery potion.

"We make a pretty good team right'', said Alan.

''I hope we live up to that", said Shelby while giving a hand to Alan.

[On Barry's Side]

Gabriel was doing a great job beating the soul out of the teachers who were on standby while Barry rescued them, of course, there were times when one ice pillar was not enough to knock them so a small fight was necessary but after some time the people were evacuated and sent to a place where an old friend of Barry lived. Some of the citizens had run off to places they had relations with and some unfortunately died during the chaos.

Barry was furious to the point he wanted to kill the teachers of this residence. They were never loyal to the residence ever since Master chose Barry to be his personal student every teacher had a grudge against them and now they were just given the opportunity.

At the place where Hazel was being kept her power slowly start to disappear as something seemed to get extracted from within her, it didn't seem to be painful but it was still weakening her.

Barry had finished his work for the citizens and was ready to confront the lady but the problem was that it was night and his stats were halted, so he had to just wait for the next day to finally give his all.

"Don't give up just yet Hazel, ill save you for sure..", thought Barry while leaning against a cracked wall and waiting for the sun to come up.

"He..hello Alan do you copy", said Barry in the mic.

"Yes, Barry it's so good to hear your voice how's things on your side?", asked Alan.

"We evacuated the people and are currently waiting for the next day so I have reached my full potential and then.... I fight, How about you", explained Barry.

There was a pause between his answer as Alan realized what he was saying but he trusted Barry, he was a strong individual and won't quit easily, he smiled before talking back to the mic.

"We had a small encounter as well but we took to take care of it, I think it was a trap so they could get information on us but I'm not sure", explained Alan.

''I am proud of you Alan and Shelby don't give up keep going forward, over", said Barry while putting his earpiece down and taking in a deep breath only to grab Gabriel's head and put it on his shoulder as they rested after a hard day.
