I gave myself one good look in the mirror before I pulled the door knob and with that I was out of the ladies room.
Gracefully, I kept walking my way back to where the party was but not before I heard someone else's footsteps. I pushed it at the back of my mind since It might've been paranoia that was on another level so I just ignored it. Melissa's words kept creeping up on me and I just couldn't help but think about it, you know.
"Do you think he'll ever come back?"
Do I? I honestly had no idea if he would. And if that were the case what would happen? Would he want to see me, will I want to see him? How would everything be between us? His friends are my friends and that's the hardest part. But I guess it's not something I should be worried about since everything has been the same.
Obviously not the same.
I mean he was excluded and absent for the past eight months. And I shouldn't care, I never cared. His been gone for what's almost a year and I even shouldn't be paying attention to all that.
We'll act like strangers, like nothing ever happened. That's even better.
I knew it wasn't only just my paranoia when I heard the continuous footsteps. I looked back only to spot a pair of blue eyes looking right back into my green orbs. The unfamiliar person seemed to have trouble standing up straight and I internally rolled my eyes.
The idiot was drunk.
Now I know you might be thinking, "Hey you barely even know the guy and you're calling him a-" yes I'm calling him and idiot.
I should be calling him so much more than that.
"Why helloo," he slurred and tried giving me a seductive look while I just stared at him blankly. Idiot.
I folded my arms, turning back and walking along. "Hey pretty little thing. What's a beautiful lady doing here all alone?"
"Minding her own business," I said plainly. "Oh come on," he sung. "Don't be like that,"
I glared into space when I felt the man getting closer. He drunken state had him bumping into every obstacle he could see because he was looking at someone who wanted to beat his ass.
It wasn't until I felt my entire body being whipped and I hit the wall with a small this. It wasn't an effort to not wince because I was slowly being consumed by my anger.
I gritted my teeth before I pushed him back and glared into his blue eyes.
He stumbled back a little more dramatically because of his drunken state. "Leave me alone," I hissed.
"But come on," he caressed my cheek and he got closer to the point where I could smell his breathe which reeked of alcohol. His finger began to touch the edge of my lip and a creepy smile touched his lips.
I was about to shake his hand off I felt a pair of eyes staring directly at me. I furrowed my brows slightly when I heard a chuckle.
No it couldn't be.
I turned my neck to the side only to come face to face with the same gray eyes that I hadn't seen in eight months.
I looked away almost immediately, no he couldn't be real. He could be here.
"Let her go before I break you," That's when all my doubts were confirmed.
The gray eyes, the dark beard, his midnight black hair. His image invaded my entire head as I began getting unwanted memories. No.
He just couldn't be back.
But it wasn't impossible.
Yes, of course it wasn't impossible but he just couldn't be back.
What? Did you expect to never see or hear from again?
I couldn't even answer. Did I expect to never see him again? I mean, no but maybe it's because I wasn't ready to see him?
Ugh to hell with that. No. I sounded stupid.
That is a stupid reason. I don't have to be ready to see him, I should not even care. I should stick to us being and acting like strangers. There was no harm in that.
I had to react on m impulsive decision and I did. I invited the creep for a hug and allowed then to kiss me.
I went as far as to make it very impossible for him to stay put. I wanted him to disappear. And this was the best way. I decided on kissing the creep for a few seconds longer before I heard fading footsteps and that's when I pulled away.
I pushed the creep away from me and looked on my right to see that he was no longer there.
Good.
And as it should be.
