Chapter 20 - The beginning of a story

—(ADAM worker)

We've been keeping an eye on a dungeon for quite a while now. It's been 34 years and nearing the reunion we lost five of our best adventurers to the Armor Lord's dungeon.

We have been keeping an eye one him through the cameras installed on the armor they wore.

Apparently the boss knew about this technology and was somehow able to remove it from the armor along with the walkie talkie.

We'll occasionally get calls from him taunting us with his latest catch. No matter who we send, we haven't been able to remake the scenario where the boss had to join the battle.

But that will soon end, on the 35th anniversary of the five hero's deaths, the top five guilds and ADAM adventures are going to destroy it.

I have been the person to watch over the boss through the cameras and talk through the walkie talkies. He set up the cameras where we can almost always see him if he is near the forge. That is the only part we can see from the cameras view. We know of the entirety of the grand room, but it seems to change and mold to the boss's whim.

We have seen him change the molten forge into a living room where he watches shows we have never heard or seen before, we've seen him form a pc where he played online games, and a training ground where he took a nap just to name a select few.

He also seems highly aware of his surroundings for something without eyes, nose, or ears. We cannot reason that he doesn't have sight when he stares into the camera with his maniacal smile.

Soon, soon I will hear some over the walkie talkie talking about his death. Soon.

—(Time skip, 3 months)

We haven't heard back from them in three months. The cams shut off as soon as they entered. We could still communicate via walkie talkie, but the boss intercepted our frequency and has been playing "Never Gonna Give You Up" on a constant loop.

The troops were fine for the two months they took to get to the final boss's room. It seems he took extra precautions against such a large group. He didn't send out any of his minions but had booby trapped the whole way up.

From what they communicated they only took minor losses and are in front of the boss door. The "administrator" or my boss leans over grabbing my walkie and tells them to go in.

This was when the music stopped. He was speaking into his walkie while conversing to the group, continuously taunting and threatening them. But from what they were speaking about, the boss had no minions. He was in a planking poison in the center of the room. They described in armor, which was red flag 1, and wasn't smiling, and the biggest red flag.

We heard him snap over the walkie and all the cams came back on. It showed the armored figure planking in the center back of the room. He had his head raised to face the people who entered but he had no guards in the entire room.

"Welcome," he solemnly spoke, "Today was a day I dreaded, we were so close to becoming free without the battle. You know what, if you all leave right now, you won't die, pretty good deal right?"

Voices of enraged and confused adventurers broke out yelling at him. "As I thought, a shame, I guess another coat of paint is always needed to finish the room,"

He shook his head then his arms ripped out from his back expanding and contorting into a large rectangular platform seven feet deep. Large towers pillared upward with a shorter wall connecting them. "Formation 87b 'Sniper Palooza'" he said as armored figures rose from the skinned buildings he made. All holding differing models of long range rifles trained on the adventurers.

The first shot rang out from the adventurers side as a blast of wind shaped like an eagle tried to boar itself into the sniper's tower.

He was immediately eliminated in a quick fashion as all armor faced him and shot him down.

—(Unknown POV)

"That was the beginning of a battle we don't know if has ended even know," a built grandfather said to a group of children sitting in front of him.

"Tell us more," a small boy shouted.

"More, more," an older but still small girl next him said.

"It's bed time kids, your mother might not be happy with that," the elder said laughing to himself.

"You heard him, time for bed. He is at a nice stopping point in the story, I'm sure he will gladly tell you tomorrow." A woman said while walking into the room.

"Awww, come on mom," the boy complained.

"Yeah mom," the girl said.

This was followed by unisons of the other three boys sitting around them as they wanted to finish the story.

"The story won't finish itself while you sleep, now go to bed." She said while moving the kids to their rooms and tucking them in.

"The story just might finish itself soon," the elder said. Looking out a window into the snowy woods near the home.
