"Zip it! Zip it! I don't want to hear it. Oo, that rhymes."
A tall slender girl with bright blonde hair sat on a plush, cushioned sofa with an antique teacup and saucer in hand. Her goldilock curls cascade eloquently past her bright velvet eyes which shone in the afternoon sun. Her position was straight and stable as a handmaid came over and poured more tea into the cup. Its aromatic scent encapsulated the room like fresh roses in spring.
Like her beauty, her presence left a mark of awe and envy among those in the room. Servants, handmaids, guards stand awe-struck at this illusive figure. Twas her name Elizabeth Valentine; a notable socialite whose fame and power lies with her beauty.
"Dearest Sister, I beg you to reconsider. You are the only lady in the high court who hasn't been betrothed yet."
A taller man sat opposite her on another lavish, elongated sofa. At first glance, he looked like the twin of his sister with his golden curls also bearing the same lusciousness and his eyes sharing the same sharp attentiveness hidden by a flirtatious viel.
Together they are the Valentina twins. Elizabeth and Erick Valentina. Enthused with their high ascriptions and their knowledge of multiple topics, are the most sought-after people in the whole of the Kingdom of Avale.
But their personalities couldn't be furthest apart.
"I beg you, Dearest Sister. Duke Roches wouldn't be that bad of a partner."
"Shush brother. You know about his gaming addiction more than anyone. Especially since that squire of yours is his faro buddy."
"But sister-"
"Hush. I know he's using his influence over Duchess Lilithe to blackmail."
"It's not blackmail!"
Erick slumped in his chair. The corners of his cheeks tinged pink.
It wasn't surprising that even the powerful heir to the Valentino wealth and fortune would be this flustered. Duke Roches is a well-known gambler and socialite; making him a key figure in Avele's society. A destroyer of multiple noble's reputation, one bad word from him can send the victim into a downward spiral.
It is only fortunate that his sister has a reputation that even exceeds his.
"Don't dismay Dearest Brother. I can nullify anything that little piggy will say."
"Piggy?"
"His mouth is sullied and his hands are too familiar with dirt for my taste."
"Haha.. Of course"
