"Haha.. of course"
The entropy of silence was quickly dissuaded as a fierce knocking came from the grand oak door. The two siblings' statures straightened at the rushed knocking.
"Come in."
Suddenly a man with crisp white hair and wrinkles that held wisdom and stories that far succeeds any human, came striding in. His black suit was crisp and his moustache was crisper.
"What brings you so urgently, Butler Hammond?" the older brother asked politely.
"Your f-father requested to see you, Young Master."
His lips trembled while he spoke, but due to raised diligence and etiquette, he tried to hide it behind the mask of formalities. Of course, Elizabeth took quick notice.
"Why do you seem so frightened, Dear Hammond?"
The old man stood there, trying to maintain his pride as he gestured urgency to the siblings. Elizabeth sighed before stiffly placing her cup down on the table and walking up towards the butler. Sensing the sudden coldness from his sister, Erick stood up and followed suit.
"And where is Dear Father placed?"
"In his Main Office, Young Miss."
All the surrounding servants bowed graciously towards the two siblings as they strutted down the panelled halls of the Valentino Manor. The lush, velvet carpet below them contrasted with the grand, lucrative paintings that decorated the marble walls.
As they were ushered through, Elizabeth noticed the increased apprehension among the guards who would usually spend their days lounging around and the restlessness among the servants.
Elizabeth looked up at her brother, her brow creased in uneasiness.
"You don't think Dear Father has-"
"Hush to those thoughts, Dearest Sister. It is not that, I hope."
The usually orchestrated manor became unrest as the walls preyed on the two siblings as they walked towards the two eloquently carved, mahogany doors which guarded their father's office.
