It went pretty smoothly. The shopkeeper had bubble wrap and David had thrown a couple of old blankets in the bed on the truck. After they loaded my mirror in and strapped it down, John asked if he could speak with me. I threw Noelle a frantic look, but she nodded so I walked with John a few feet down the street.
John wouldn't meet my eyes while he spoke. With his gaze firmly trained on our shoes, he apologized. "Kim, I'm really sorry about what happened at the party. I didn't mean to come on that strong or make you uncomfortable. I just think you're beautiful and I got carried away. I didn't realize you were Derek's, but that's no excuse for how I acted. Please forgive me."
This man was packed. If I joined Derek's pack officially, I would be living with John in my life for a very long time.
"I understand. I'll admit I didn't like how you acted, but everyone makes mistakes. Apology accepted."
