Chapter 4 - Lunch with Friends

Next Day…

I wake up to do my morning routine. Once I was done, I look in the mirror on the wall and look at my physique. Hold on, 'System I have 2 questions. First, do I have stats for myself? Second, what would the skill Physique (Expert) do to my body?'

{The Physique Of The Host Will Not Gain More Mass But Compact The Muscles To Keep The Hosts Desired Form. You Do Have Stats But They Are Unavailable Until You Purchase A Skill Associated With One Of Your Stats.}

'I should not waste the fan value on that skill yet, possibly in the future tho.' Being too lazy to put a shirt on I walk upstairs to take a shower and see Veronica dusting on the first floor. We greeted each other, however for some reason it looked like her body was jittering, but I left it alone.

A Few Hours Later…

I drive to a restaurant and sit at a table for two. I then ordered a coffee and decided to look at the fan value shop while I wait. After about 8 minutes the waiter comes back and sets my coffee on the table. Just then someone speaks from behind me, "You ordered without me, bro". Without turning around, I lift my hand right above my shoulder and give the most majestic middle finger ever. I hear a few people near us crack a laugh.

Taking a seat Brian orders and then we get right down to business. "So did you like the script."

"It was almost perfect, me and the crew are ready whenever you are."

Turning his head to the television behind me something catches his eye. Nodding his head for me to turn around I see a news segment on how there were 3 Christmas movies coming out by the Big 6 this year. 'Home Alone should be able to compete with any Christmas movie.' Then a headline came up about how someone from a famous family released a sex tape.

"I don't know what would make someone decide to do that, do you?" said Brian looking at me.

Looking at my coffee I respond, "Some people will do anything for fame, some people will screw over anyone for fame, some people treat fame as currency, and some people are addicted to attention. For better or for worse Hollywood's form of currency is fame."

Smiling I take out a binder and give it to him, "This should help when we start filming to save some time and money."

"What is this."

"Its details on the shots, sets, camera angles, props, practical effects, and safety measures we'll need for the film."

A look of shock and disbelief appeared on Brian's face. He quickly opened the binder and started to read and absorb everything into his eyes. I simply sipped on my coffee and waited for him to come out of his own world.

After about 5 minutes the waiter came to our table and placed a sandwich in front of Brian. Without looking up from the binder he grabbed the sandwich and started eating it. I smiled and turned to the waiter, "Thank you," and handed her a $50 tip.

"Sir I can't accept this." "Yes, you can without you my friend over here would starve to death while reading," a smile appeared on my face, and I winked at her, and she accepted the tip and walked away while saying thank you as she passed. After another 15 minutes, he finally looks up and takes a deep breath then looks at me and said something that caught me by surprise, "Are you really Eren, and if you are where did you steal these from?"

I didn't know how to respond so I just smiled and cracked a laugh and responded, "Yes there mine, and yes I'm me."

Brian cracked a laugh as well, "This is perfectly detailed. With this, I can show the crew and it will help us a lot with setting up." Putting the folder down his face goes from impressed to serious. "How are you doing Eren? If this movie is just a distraction to not grieve then you need to stop." A shocked look appears on my face. "Listen Eren I can't imagine what you've been through with everything that happened to you. You lost your whole family, and you still haven't had a funeral, and just before that you were cheated on." For some reason, the police haven't given the bodies back so I can have a funeral as the crash is still being investigated for some reason.

"I'm fine, I have grieved as much as I could without a funeral," I said with a pained smile.

"Just do me a favor and talk to someone, ok?"

"I will. Well, I got to get going to the auditions," We shook hands and left.

Time Skip…

Once I arrived, I saw Uncle and sat next to him waiting for the first actor to walk in.

One after the other actors would walk in and would perform a scene. Due to wanting unknown talent meant that there were a lot of auditions which also meant that there were a lot of bad auditions. After 5 hours we were able to find all the actors except for Kevin.

"We only have 5 more left I don't think we are going to find our Kevin," Uncle said standing next to me since his ass was starting to hurt sitting in the chair for so long.

"Let's not give up just yet but I do need a stretch first."

After stretching we called in the next person. "Hello, my name is William, I'm here auditioning for the role of Kevin McCallister."

"Okay here's the scene you'll be acting out. You've already been briefed on the character's personality, correct."

"Yes, I have," the kid breathes in and out and begins the scene.

William performs the scene and makes a few mistakes; however, the talent was there, and I could see it. Once the scene was done, I gave a look to Uncle and said, "Thank you, we'll let you know if you have gotten the role." I stand up and shook hands with the kid, and he left.

Once he left I stated, "I want him to play the role of Kevin."

"Yes, I agree with you, kid has talent. I'll give a call to him and his agent tomorrow--."

"No, I'll visit him myself and tell him the news," I interrupted him.

"Ok, if you insist."

I then leave & head home. Once I work out and eat, I sit on the end of the bed and remember what Brian said while we were eating. 'The previous host never properly grieved; does that mean I'll have to eventually have to grieve as well or in his place?'
