Not realizing that the boy's eyes slightly open seeing the smile ' is? is she smiling like that because of saving me ?' the boy thinks while closing his eyes again the boy thinks something that changes him forever.....' can? can someone weak as me smile like that ?' unknown to him, his mouth twists in too a small almost unnoticeable smile...

..

.

'THIS, THIS WASNT SUPPOSED TO BE HAPPENING !!!' the unknown person thinks while running through the rubble, with unnatural speed, looking for anyone to find, to help, to SAVE but unable to find anyone alive breaks down crying and starts, knowing that no one will answer because they don't care about humans, praying '' Please, please god... God's... Root..... let me find anyone... anyone to SAVE !!!! PLEASE !!!!''

The person was ready to collapse... to give up.... Again... She couldn't save anyone as always, just...

Until noticing an arm far away going up almost like to signal - that I am here - making her run even faster than before and grabs it before it falls, starting to dig, seeing a red-headed boy, not noticing another person with brown hairs watching her.

In that dire moment, as the unknown person rescued the red-headed boy from the rubble and breathed life back into him, a profound connection was forged between them. The scabbard, with its mysterious glow, had played a part in this miraculous revival. It seemed to possess an otherworldly power, one that transcended the physical realm.

As the boy's eyes fluttered open once again, he caught a glimpse of the person's radiant smile. His heart warmed at the sight, and a profound sense of gratitude overwhelmed him. He couldn't believe that someone had risked their life to save him, a stranger in need.

Meanwhile, the person who had performed this heroic act was wrestling with her own emotions. She had searched desperately for survivors, felt the weight of the world's indifference, and yet had found someone... Finally someone to save. Her emotions welled up, a mixture of relief, joy, and sorrow for those who couldn't be saved.

* Many days later*

The boy's golden-brown eyes slowly fluttered open, revealing a hospital room adorned with monitors and various medical apparatuses. He gazed around, a sense of relief washing over him as he realized he was far removed from that hellish world... he had endured... No that he ran away from... A wave of tranquility settled in as he absorbed his surroundings, appreciating the sanctuary of the hospital environment.

His moment of solace, however, was interrupted by the creak of the door swinging open. A person entered, their eyes carrying a vacant yet inquisitive expression. Taking a seat on the chair beside the hospital bed, they regarded the boy with a penetrating gaze.

After a moment of silence, she seemed to have realized what she was doing.

And smile appears on her lips...

Her smile carries a revelation, dawning upon him with gentle grace, and his mind quickly come's back to the memory he has... the only memory he has... The smile of the person who saved him.

The beautiful smile on the person who saved him...

He was so deep into his memories....memory... that he didn't hear her question.

After a brief interval, the woman notices that the boy didn't hear any of her questions. Without a hint of frustration, she offers the query anew, a delicate hope evident in her voice—that the inferno's wrath hadn't robbed him of his hearing or his ability to speak.

''What's your name?''

The boy's lips part, a nascent intention to speak forming, only to retreat into a thoughtful closure. He takes a reflective pause, his mind navigating the corridors of his mind, only to find the requested information absent.

The women already realizing what might be the problem... But unknowing what to do just retreats to being silent... as the boy starts to look up again and finally responds.

" Shirou "

The boy.... Shirou... Response as he looks at the white ceiling.

The woman just looks at him.... And gains a bit of humor? in her eyes. But with that humor came an obvious sign of sadness... Before they become hollow...

The woman asks him '' What is your last name.... Shirou. '' The boy now named Shirou... Just looks around again. Obviously trying to find a last name now.

Swiftly adapting to the situation, the woman adjusts her line of questioning with a subtle shift in her demeanor accompanied by her next words

" Do you remember your family ? "

The boy after thinking some more finally realizes that he doesn't remember anything says " I... I don't remember anything. "

Upon hearing his words, a shadow of guilt passes fleetingly across the features of the black-haired woman. She holds the silence for a beat, as if grappling with an internal dilemma. Then, breaking the hush, she poses a pivotal question "Would you prefer to join the other children at the orphanage, or do you want to stay with an unknown person'' The boy, his contemplation evident in the furrow of his brows, considers his options. And in a gesture that needs no words, he extends his finger, pointing it toward her, an answer communicated through the simple movement.

A glimmer of light flickers within the woman's hollow eyes, accentuating the widening curve of her smile. Rising gracefully from her seat, she takes purposeful steps toward the door, an air of intention guiding her movements. However, a sudden pause interrupts her progress. With a swift yet deliberate motion, she pivots, her gaze fixated as she imparts her final words.

'' by the way I'm a mage...''

And with those last words, she closes the door with a soft *click* leaving the boy alone in the room alone until the boy starts to feel tired and goes to sleep....

While sleeping, the boy dreams about the fire that suddenly changed into a bandaged woman, that feels familiar, for a moment and then a glowing sheath.

* A couple of days later*

In front of their recently acquired home, a house that now bore the name Emiya, a boy named Shirou Emiya stood alongside his new mother, Kiritsugu Emiya. The name, given to him by this woman who had assumed the role of his adopted guardian. Day after day, she visited him, their last day at the hospital ended with her sharing her last name with her new adopted son.

Repeatedly, Kiritsugu asked him multiple to not strain himself, especially when he came out of the hospital. However, his response was one that had become familiar, a smile that perpetually adorned his face, accompanied by a quietly determined declaration '' But I can help more... I just have to do more'' That last line always made her worry, after all, it's obvious that the boy is experiencing severe survivals guilt and not even talking about the smile he always seemed to carry.

The thought of seeking professional help, perhaps from a psychologist, crossed her mind. Yet, she hesitated, wary of the potential risks. So, she decides to wait for now, there's a chance he will get over it and she doesn't want to risk exposing herself and Shirou to the enemies she's made over the years, like Einzbern's family, who she knows are still looking for her.

And with a watchful eye, she just tells him to be careful while watching over him so that he won't overstrain himself since he came out fresh out of the hospital, the speed of his recovery was nothing short of astonishing, defying all expectations. The doctors had initially anticipated weeks, possibly even months, of arduous recuperation given the extent of the injuries inflicted by the rubble and fire. Yet, he had defied the odds, leaving the medical professionals astounded by his seemingly miraculous rebound.

Even considering the presence of THAT within him, his swift recovery remained an enigma. Logic dictated that even with HER fueling it not that long ago.

"Don't dwell on it. Just be glad he's recovered so swiftly," she thinks to herself, her eyes fixed on Shirou.

The one responsible for placing the final box within the house approaches her, a blend of familiarity and fondness coloring his words, "I've got all the boxes in, Kiritsu—uh, I mean Mom!" A buoyant smile graces his features, a reflection of the satisfaction he feels from finally being able to help someone.

A faint smile graces Kiritsugu's lips, and she responds, '' thank you Shirou, you must be tired now, how about we find you a room so you can sleep'' Shirou was about to say ''But I can help you unpack the boxe *YAWN*'' But before he can finish the sentence he yawns that proves that he's tired so she say's ''You can help me unpack the boxes tomorrow after you sleep'' But Shirou says that '' But- ''

Kiritsugu Emiya's smile wanes slightly at his assertion, her tone taking on a touch of seriousness as she asserts, "Shirou, you will indeed get some rest, and that's final."

And with that Shirou nods and follow her to his room where he sees a small futon for him in an empty room so slowly climbs in to and tries to go to sleep but can since '' Why are you looking at me ?''

As he asked that, Kiritsugu, stationed by the shoji door, responds without hesitation, "To see if your really going to bed or not." With those words, she begins to gently close the door, allowing him his privacy.

After a brief passage of time, the weight of fatigue overtakes Shirou, as doing anything after days of staying in a bed tired him easily, which resulted in him easily succumbing to sleep...

And the dreaming begins a new... about the Fire, the bandaged women, and then the glowing sheath. But this time there's something different about the dream's this time he sees the bandaged women's eyes following him a bit and her mouth moving while the glowing scabbard is in a green field with three swords next to it ...

And as he wakes up hours later... The first thing he sees is a hesitating Kiritsugu reaching out her hands to him. Before noticing he's awake brings them back to her.
